A nice idea, it will be interesting to see how many people it attracts. Being a true New Zealander, the name "Aussie Lego Fans" just doesn't do it for me, but I thought I'd better sign up anyway.

Good luck, I look forward to seeing what interesting things you do with the site. One thing you may like to get on to is changing the format a little so that half the forums aren't sub forums of the Star Wars one.

But one thing I thought of Darth LEGOIS  is that I guess we need some one who knows how to do stuff like graphic designing

Wow. And you wonder why your first atempt of an Austrailian/New Zealand lego only web site failed. :hmpf_bad: I have a feeling your second atempt isn't going to fair any better.

I've already got two forums to watch over. I have no interest in a third!

Well 5150 Lego, we are not skydiving, so when a first attempt fails, we are just going to jump back on the horse and try again.

If it helps, all great creations will most likely find their way here, where they can be enjoyed by a much larger fan base. All discussion is of Australasian news, so I fail to see why you want to join up. A forum success is not measured by the amount of views or members. It is the friendships and support built around the hobby.

Making this new site a success already.

If you are still not satisfied, could you join a NZ or AUS, LUG group? Just because it is online does not make it open to every nation. Being in tiny little Adelaide I have no local LUG, so I consider this site to be the closest thing to it. Where are you actually from? Depending on your distance you might be eligable.

Eurobricks is huge and is uniting all fans of Lego world wide and greatly benefits from this. We are only aiming small, uniting two nations. Where we just might be able to have RL meetings where it does not take over $1000 to get there, but more reasonable travel expenses.

You will also find the members will be remaining loyal to eurobricks (who wouldn't  ), so if any Australasians have read this and sympathised with my LUG-loss, come and join in. I would think if PNG members or other close countries wanted to join they'd be welcome.

Personally I'm not a big fan of websites targeting localities. If there is a language gap then it makes more sense, but otherwise I can't see a reason unless it's only a local issue, such as a sports team.

But that's just my opinion.

Hobart's worse, but I'm considering moving to Victoria.

So i guess all the white people should start thier own Lego web site, and ban all the black people. :hmpf_bad: Sorry, but i just kind of find it in very poor taste to restrict someone just of because of where they live, or worse yet what country there from. Don't get me wrong, i can understand wanting to get a local club toeghter as it your correct that it will be easier to get toeghter for meets, or vactions and such. But just becuase somone lives in the same country as you does not nessasarly mean your going to get along with them, or going to have loads in common with them either. I'm from the United States, but that doesn't mean that i'm going to get along with other memebers from the U.S. better than someone from Russia, Spain, europe, etc. Thats one of the reasons i like this website. Were all here cause we share the love of Lego. In the end, thats all that should really matter. I enjoy chatting with people with different back grounds from around the world. I thought it would be nice to be a part of another web site and get to better know people from "down under". Just cause i'm not from the same country as you doesn't mean that i'm (or anyone from a different country other than yours for that matter) isn't interested in the going abouts of other countries, or the world around them.

Don't confuse the issue. The creators of this forum are not discriminating on the basis of race, but on the basis of geography, as they are perfectly entitled to do. Indeed, that's exactly how most LUGs are organised.

I really don't see the difference. And while it might be thier right, it doesn't make it in good taste either. If thats there attitude then i guess they should make there own website a find people with the same moral ethics as them.

Going to fair? And thats not the reason why the first one failed, it's because I wasn't an admin are apart of it

Thanks svelte, I do believe you were getting the wrong impression and jumping the gun. This is completely not because of race at all but because of the great lands that we live in! You can be white, black, Asian, yellow, it doesn't matter. Because that is one of the things which is what I believe Australia is about. We accept all races and people so don't go think that it's because of race  Joining an Aussie (and NZ) forum and not living there is like joining a classic space forum and hating classic space

We'll discuss about that

OK.... let's calm down here a bit. I think we've all said our point of view and going any further will just escalate the issue.

Well lets see how about 'cos there was only 1 mod and 1 admin and only me [the admin] was the only active staff member [*No offence to the Mod I'm sure he was busy enough being here on EB]

Well mainly its like for sales/special promotions ect.. within Australia/Nz and stuff like that. :classic:

I don't remember anyone saying anything about us being a racist Lego Fan site, Heck as long as your in Australia/Nz I don't care what race or whatever your from as long as your a Fan Of Lego and in the area.

Also yes the unity here on EB is great [i love it] but sometimes its just good to talk with "your own people" people in your area ect...

Like I said above I dont care what your backround/race/religion is aslong as your Aussie/Nz and a fan of LEGO your welcome.

Going to fair? And thats not the reason why the first one failed, it's because I wasn't an admin are apart of it

Wow. :hmpf: You just don't get it. I was using the race as an analogy.

And how is joining a classic space and hating classic space the same as a non Aussie/NZ joining the same the same thing? Your implying that anyone that is not of Aussie or NZ decent automaticly hates Aussie or NZ. And that is completly un true.

[

Like I said above I dont care what your backround/race/religion is aslong as your Aussie/Nz and a fan of LEGO your welcome.

Ok, now look at what you just said. First you say it has nothing to do with race. You welcome anyone no matter what race they are, but then you go saying "as long as they are of Australian/NZ decent". So while you might not see it as being racist, it is discrimination. Your saying that anyone that isn't from Austrailian or NZ decent is not welcome. Thats discrimination. Plain and simple.
