The Cobra Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 After I requested a couple of pieces to be replaced (read more here) on Dec. 28th, I thought they were lost by the Post. A few minutes ago I received a call from Lego; operator said the envelope was returned beacuse of "unknown address"; we checked and it turned out I stupidely wrote my City where I should have written my Village. Operator then said they'll be sending my pieces again. So much for wanna-be Replacements thieves Quote

Congrats on getting your parts AND a funny story to tell. Quote
soc399 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 The replacement parts service is great. They are always so friendly when I call. I'm glad to hear you got your parts. Quote
smiley905 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 couldnt people call and like say one of my rare minifigures wasnt in the box and they would be shipped one? like does lego ask and questions? Quote
KimT Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 couldnt people call and like say one of my rare minifigures wasnt in the box and they would be shipped one? like does lego ask and questions? Perhaps. You could also walk into your local supermarket and shove candy into your pants and then leave. Licensed parts are almost impossible to get. And they wouldn't believe that you've lost or never recieved an entire minifig in a set. It's a service, not a bunch of semi-intelligent badgers Quote
Siegfried Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Great story! couldnt people call and like say one of my rare minifigures wasnt in the box and they would be shipped one? like does lego ask and questions? In most cases TLG will know if there is an existing problem with the set. For example there was a batch of AT-ATs that had the wrong pants for one of the figs. In that case it's easy to get a replacement. Other than that it can be harder. Quote

I really appreciate the Replacement Service. On the very few occasions that I've had a missing part, they have been very helpful. I wouldn't want to take advantage of them just so I could get rare parts or minifigs. LEGO goes way above and beyond in the way of servicing their customers, much more than most companies do, and we should respect that. Quote
Sycaris Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Most recently when I called parts replacement for a licensed set (Rogue Shadow), they asked me for the serial number on the back on the instructions manual to confirm proof of purchase. That stops all those no-gooders who try to get rare figs without buying the sets. Quote
gravysam Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 One of the awsome things about lego is its costumer service. just my quick opinion. Quote
