Posted February 10, 200916 yr I want to make an Islanders army, but want to vary the faces lots so they don't all look like clones. Any suggestions of which ones to use?
February 10, 200916 yr Well, aside from the obvious... some of the exo-force heads might work well. They almost look like they have face paint on. You might also try some of the Native American heads: When I'm looking for new heads, I like to use the thumbnail view of the Bricklink catalog. Edited February 10, 200916 yr by fallentomato
February 10, 200916 yr I think any type of face should work excepting, of course, the bearded ones or having modern elements like sunglasses or things like that or the blonds or the redhaired ones. I know there's no many useful faces for that but I hope this could help you... For "head inspiration" you can go here Edited February 10, 200916 yr by BlueBard
February 10, 200916 yr I think the "achu" head would look ok for islanders (the legs and torso of him could also be used for variation), the other options have allready been mentioned (some exo-foce and indian heads, allthough I don't think they work just as well as the achu or standard islander heads). Maybe the female head from the ice planet range (I use it for a pirate wench, but I think it would work for a female islander as well). Edited February 10, 200916 yr by Fluyt
February 10, 200916 yr I think the "achu" head would look ok for islanders . Together with the Achu-head I find this one the best after the 2 originals (but these have no angry face). I use this head for my Islanders. I think that it stops here for the angry Islander faces. Edited February 10, 200916 yr by Capt. Kirk
February 10, 200916 yr Well, aside from the obvious... some of the exo-force heads might work well. They almost look like they have face paint on. I tend to use the above, as well as Achu. Pretty much the whole array of Exo-Force heads can be used, as they've got suitable expressions and markings, but with no headsets e.t.c. Personally, I don't like to give my Islanders beards, as they look kinda funny like that
February 11, 200916 yr Off Topic SlyOwl how did you do it, to get those rocks only stand out 1/2... if you now what I mean ? Thx for an answer.
February 11, 200916 yr Off TopicSlyOwl how did you do it, to get those rocks only stand out 1/2... if you now what I mean ? Thx for an answer. Probably with "jumper plates" (). Or maybe by putting the underside of bricks/plates/tiles in a hollow stud (don't really know how to explain it any better). /end OffTopic Edited February 11, 200916 yr by Fluyt
February 11, 200916 yr Probably with "jumper plates" (). Yup! Some of them are grey, but there's a fair amount of random-coloured ones behind the rock face, attached to the bricks which stick out further backwards. This was my first rock-scaping ever, and it was far too tedious, part-intensive and slow for my liking, so now I go with my current style of upright, plenty of slopes. It helps that I've bought a load more recently, too. Angled tiles can save slopes, though, and give effects you can't achieve otherwise.
February 16, 200916 yr I thought it, however, you never know with SlyOwl… @ Fluyt and SlyOwl... THX !!!
