SkyOtic Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Those boxs are prelims, they will have the new hat and no squiggily lines in the real set. If they do, I'll eat my hat. I'll keep you on that one Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 You didn't put this one on the front page! I'm happy to know now that these pics are more prelim than the others. It's the American toyfair where we'll get pics of all the sets, more finalized too. Quote
Lego12 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 These look really cool! I'm defianitly going to get the Hoth base and the Endor Bunder! Those are must-haves for me! Thanks for the pictures! Quote
VBBN Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Looks great! Not to sure about the endor set, but I wub the hoth set. Quote
Icesaber Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 (edited) The new AT-ST looks great. Shame about the lack of eyeflaps, but it still looks much better than the old one. Will it include a pilot though? The rest of the Endor set looks awesome! Lots of minifigures. Lots of great stuff, like speeder bikes, controls, and the base. Will try to get this one, but probably won't because of price. The Hoth stuff also looks great. Finally, a reasonably cheap seat with snowies! Two snowtroopers is good, as well as Han in his Hoth stuff and the Tauntaun is good too. The Hoth troopers with their visors look nice. A nice, small set that waits for me to buy it! The Neimodian shuttle is smaller than I expected. I'm not sure if the Neimodian is a cartoon-fig. It's probably meant to be, but it doesn't look so bad from here. My opinion may change with a close-up of it. The hat is nice. And another Rodian is a good thing too. I want to see the new tank droid. I have the old one, broken for years now. The new one looks very nice. Edited January 26, 2009 by Icesaber Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 As disappointing to so many as this may seem, that Neimiodian looks a lot more like Lok Durd then Nute Gunray! just compare them! Either way, I'll use him as both! Quote
darthlucas Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 WOW, looks great the endor set is a must get. I think i see a new hair style on leia also the set comes with a death star troop. The speeders design is the same as the republic gunship speeder so theat is good. Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I love the sets, shame the desings were the preliminary one though. Endor troopers are must haves. Quote
Snake...SNAKE...SNAAAAKE?! Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 too cool!!!! I have to say, onoconda and gunray look even better !!!! Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 didnt the sepratist shuttle have a rear access ramp in earlier pictures - doesnt seem to be much sign of it now Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 too cool!!!!I have to say, onoconda and gunray look even better !!!! I'm still betting it's Lok Durd. Just look! Quote
Lord Santos Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I hope those goggles are clone helmet compatible... Quote
JimBee Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Neat, new pics. Even though these aren't final yet, they look very good compared to the pictures from a few weeks ago. The Separatist Shuttle looks very small, but pretty accurate and well-designed. It seems that one of the battle droids in the prelim picture has been replaced with a clone with a rifle. Plus, the two battle droids have the twisted arms. New Gunray headpiece mold, new prints, and maybe a new Rodian head. The Hoth set is also looking good, and the Taun-Taun looks different (with new horns!). I prefer the old goggle mold over these new ones, though. The new ones look sort of big for a minifigure, but I appreciate all of these new molds. I can see the prices on the Solo hood dropping dramatically... The Y-Wing looks about the same. The Endor bunker looks as good as ever... The Snail Tank looks the same, too, and I'm almost certain that the jetpack(s?) are preliminary. It looks like it's another great year for Lego Star Wars. Quote
Derek Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I'm still betting it's Lok Durd. Just look! Why? Its obviously Gunray, fans have wanted him for a while now. And this is from the episode "Bombad Jedi" because Farr is in it. It really wouldn't make sense to have an obscure character when we can have a major one we've wanted for a while. Quote
OOM-9 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I am really excited for these sets. I don't have any major problems with them and think it will be a great line. However, I hope they decide to use something other than the Frankenstein headpiece for Gunray, I don't care so much for how large it is compared to his body. I am glad we will finally get one of him though. I am not a fan of TCW but one thing it has done for the Legos is provide many new characters, some with wonderful new headpieces. I hope they change it for Gunray because these are prelim pics. Overall my favorite addition based on what we know so far is the Endor set. It oozes awesomeness! Quote
SWMAN Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) I like the new helmet designs for the Hoth troopers. I really hope that the Endor troopers improve, because right now they are terrible. I am surprised that the Hoth troopers look finished yet the Endor don't, but looking at the fact that the Ewoks are obviously preliminary gives me hope. Edited January 27, 2009 by SWMAN Quote
ROCON Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 @ Lord Santos, I don't think the visors are clone compatibile, sorry. Also, the sets are built incorrectly, look at the at-st. Leias "new hair" peice is just the queens hair mold. Thank god Endor is preliminary, did you see the price? I'm forward to buying two or three snails if they add another jetpack and change their mold. Its a long shot they'll give em a new color ( :( 501st, sniff). Where are the pirates and Ackbar, perhaps Feburary. Quote
Patriot720 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I think the new turret is a step backwards from the one in 7666....This one looks more blocky and odd;but the inclusion of solo and the tauntaun definitely make up for it! Quote
Tim Bit Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Oh Canada!! Another great thing out of Canada Back on topic... They look great but why no more pics Is this in Toronto? Why not Vancouver home of the Olympics (and me ) Well still I want more pics could any Torontoites head over there please? Well I can't wait although Gunray/Lok Durd's hat looks weird. Quote
Oky Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Here are my thoughts: The Snail Tank clone doesn't have a jetpack! Gunray looks weird. The Rodian looks good, and if it's true that they replaced one of the droids with a clone, that would be great (even though random). The Hoth goggles (when flipped down) look weird. However, when flipped up, they look very accurate! The Tauntaun and the rest of the Hoth set look great! Definite must-buy! Although I agree that the turret in 7666 looked much better and had more playability, this way it's cheaper and a better BP while you still get a turret with it. Too bad, though, that the horns of the Tauntaun don't seem to be very reusable due to their one-sidedness. Oh well. I don't care much for the Endor set, but that AT-ST seems to be the best one yet, and the rest of the set looks pretty good. More pics (especially of the Snail Tank & Venator sets) ON! Quote

Dark Brickz Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 wow those look great. im a bit dissapointed with the Separatist Shuttle looks to small... TLC could have made it a bit bigger. Quote
Commander Flash Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) TLC was sure creative with the jet pack design ... The shuttle should fit atleast 2 too bad theres no Venator pics Edited January 27, 2009 by Commander Flash Quote
Algernon Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) Man, SW is going down the tubes... I can honestly say none of these appeal to me, besides perhaps the hoth set, which will probably be overpriced. Edited January 27, 2009 by Algernon Quote
