Legoman Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Yeah... Does anyone think Lego seems to be releasing heaps of SW sets this year? I know it's 10th annaversary & all, but seriously... I think there's a possiblity the Falcon and pirate tank might not be released. I admit i have no evidence for this, and that i'm probably wrong, but its possible. Besides, i also think lego will have a couple more sets up their sleve to surprise us with... I mean, 20 sets already known and it's only just Feburary! Quote
Oswald the Rabbit Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I read on a British Star Wars website that TLC were not letting pictures be taken at the 2009 Toy Fair UK. Quote

hollisbrick Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Really? I don't think they ever do to tell you the truth But don't worry, they come to us anyway Quote

Robinson6142 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=852555new clone wars magnet set with Yoda, Dooku & Mace Well, i just wasted £40 on that stupid solar sailor then! All the best figures for under ten euros! It's an awesome set though. Quote

Oky Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=852555new clone wars magnet set with Yoda, Dooku & Mace Wow! Not bad! If you're somebody who only gets sets because of the minifigs, you can save like $155 with this set! The best part is that the minifigs on this new kind of magnets aren't glued in any way. However, since I want the AAT and RAS and the Magnas from the Solar Sailer anyway, I wont get this magnet set. Quote
Captain REX Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 well although im getting an AAT and might pick up a Solar sailer ill be sure to get this Wow lego has finnally developed a way of saving money! Quote
Lloyd Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=852555new clone wars magnet set with Yoda, Dooku & Mace Thanks for the heads up, Aslonar I would like to buy these, on the terms that I can (safely) dis-assemble the little blighters. Does anyone know it would be possible (without damaging them)? -Lloyd By the way, I'm not to worried about the legs. Edited February 3, 2009 by Lloyd Quote
Bob Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 We can only assume, (If we get Ackbar) that he will look a little like he did in the Lego Star Wars Complete Saga game. I hope we see pictures of the Home One soon though...It's on my definite, "To Buy" List. Quote

Apparently just the blocks they stand on are magnetic, and the minifigs clip on like on a regular board, so theres no magnets in the figs themselves. Quote

alsonar Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 The Lego girl on the phone said that the figures were not glued onto the bases. On another point she also confirmed that the chrome Vader promo for Europe would be different from that of the States. She hinted that events might be distribution locations. Quote
JCC1004 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=852555new clone wars magnet set with Yoda, Dooku & Mace That's awsome! I'm definatly getting that. There real figs too! Quote
Darth_Legois Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=852555new clone wars magnet set with Yoda, Dooku & Mace Hmmm sounds interesting, I was kinda hoping it'd be the old Yoda, Mace & Dooku though. Can someone post a pic? SAH is stuffing up on me. Quote

I agree, why did they have to be CW style...if they weren't I would buy them in a heartbeat. Still might buy them anyways to make some cash off of resell. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) One more thing to the MF: I highly doubt that the price which was mentioned until now is right. And I even highly doubt that TLG will release a MF which is too small to go with minifigs. Plus I really would not like it (and surely even not buy it) if it's not minifig-scaled. I mean: 1. The majority (me included) would be very disappointed if the MF is smaller than minifig-scale: -The most of the AFOLs want high-detailed vehicles - and a smaller than minifig-scale MF can surely not offer that. -The most of the JFOLs want much playability and action elements - and a smaller than minifig-scale MF can surely not offer that, too. And TLG wants to make the majority of their customers happy and not sad, don't they?! 2. The idea of including a smaller than minifig-scale vehicle on the one hand and some minifigs on the other hand in one and the same set is (surely not only in my opinion) absurd. With the minifig-scaled DS it was something other since there Vader's TIE was only a small part of this set - but not the main part. If the MF was part of a big set (let's say e. g. of a Home One as a whole ship) then it might be well possible to have a MF included which is smaller than minifig-scale. But since the MF is the main part of this MF set which shall come out I do not see any comprehensible cause why it should be smaller than minifig-scale. 3. Which sense should a smaller than minifig-scale MF have?! It would not fit with the most of the other sets since the most of the other sets are (more or less) minfig-scaled. So I don't think that the MF will be not in minifig-scale since then it would surely not be bought that much (I, too, surely wouldn't buy it if it isn't minifig-scaled). And to the exclusive minifigs which might come with this set: When somebody wants them it's then cheaper to buy them via Ebay, bricklink or what so ever than to buy the whole set. I personally do anyway not understand why TLG wants to release a MF this year. Of course the last versions were sold in a five year period. But on the other hand we don't get an X-Wing or a general TIE Fighter this year, too. So they could easily release them next year. Because: If it's not minifig-scaled (which I highly doubt) then I bet that it surely won't be sold well anyway. And if it is minifig-scaled then there are already that many big sets this year that many people can't buy every set they want and hace to decide for their favourtie one(s). But if TLG releases the MF next year and if it is minifig-scaled people would surely buy it. Sorry for perhaps having been gotten a bit off-topic. Justin2224 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I doubt that the mid-scale Falcon can be all that great. It's such a large ship, a LEGO model needs to be large in order for it to look good. As for the other sets(what we've seen), they are a major score. However, I don't care too much for the Shuttle- it seems way to small. The figs are great, so I might just buy it for them. I hope we get pics of the Pirate Tank soon. Quote
Deinonychus Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=852555new clone wars magnet set with Yoda, Dooku & Mace I kind of like the new style of Minifig magnet, if these are indeed a new design philosophy. Less a Minifig with a magnet in it's back and more of a full-blown fridge ornament Quote
Zzz Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) I kind of like the new style of Minifig magnet, if these are indeed a new design philosophy. Less a Minifig with a magnet in it's back and more of a full-blown fridge ornament I heard that it is less a philosophy than more according to a new law. I can be wrong, it really doesn't make sense to me. But there are some strict laws in the US and also the EU started some very weird ones meant to protect customers, children and the 2x4 brick from next door. Anyway, I came home, saw these, ordered 2! LOVE minifigs... Edited February 3, 2009 by Zzz Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Holy Moly! Lego's lost it! But it definitely works for me! And all for only $12! I already have Yoda and Mace, but I can do with another purple lightsaber, two silver hilts, and Dooku's chrome bendy saber! Not to mention... Dooku! Quote
Derek Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I really don't mind them making a smaller Falcon, as everyone can't afford a $500 Lego set. And I'm sure that this one is for the kids, whom I think a lot of you tend to forget about... Quote
