I hope that if the new set is Cloud City that Lego doesn't do what they did last time. Instead of doing the platform and a little bit of each part of the city, they should stick to one main section like the Carbon-Freezing chamber. They could include Lando, Han, Leia, Chewie, Darth Vader, a couple Ughnauts, Boba Fett, a Stormtrooper and a Bespin Guard.

I agree, the last Cloud City set was very un-detailed, almost random. I would really just like a carbon freezing chamber, the area where the Vader and Luke's battle took place, and maybe a small landing pad with a Cloud Car. Nothing more, All separated by walls. With more detail, almost like the death star had it done.

Maybe it could be like

? I totally agree. Maybe the spire where Luke finds out about who his father is, and the dining room area where Darth confronts Han. Hey, wasn't that included in the other Cloud City set? :look:

I partly agree with you SWMAN and Matteo Kenobi.

Of course you're right: The last Cloud City did only include a bit of everything but nothing complete. And so some complete rooms seperated by walls and doors would be neccessary to make the new set more attractive than the last version!

But imo only the carbonite freezing chamber would be bad! There are so many more locations which are imo very important and which really should not miss: the "balcony" where Vader cuts off Luke's right hand, the room with the round window which breaks when Luke falls through it, the room where Darth Vader waits for the Rebel in order to "have a drink with them" plus a corridor (at the best even with a little glas-elevator) (and perhaps even the torture chamber and/or the prison cell).

But I'm aware that these are too much wishes for a 150-250 Euro/Dollar set. And something in the similar price class like the DS is for me absolutely unaffordable. :sadnew:

Gotcha. When is the San Diego comic-con? And do we normally see any new sets there?

Dunno.

As for new sets, I don't think they've ever shown us anything there.

All we've gotten from that con is the special Star Wars combo set released last year.

We can hope for another of those this year

Comic Con 2009

It's from July 23-26.

It looks like all tickets are sold out, though. :look:

As for the Cloud City set (which I'm almost positive we are getting) why is everyone so against having a bunch of different rooms? They did it with the Death Star, and that made zero sense whatsoever. But it still made a great set. I understand that many were unsatisfied with the original CC set, but I think Lego has improved their set design since 2002.(?) I have a feeling they will do a bunch of rooms again, but have them separated and make some sense.

This is what I see- $250-300 sized set with freezing chamber, meeting room, hallway(s), the droid workshop, a place for Luke and Vader to duel, and a landing pad. There could also be vehicles, such as a more compact Slave I (could use windshield from Magnaguard fighter) and a better Cloud Car. As for figures there would be Lando, Lobot, Luke, Leia, Han, Chewy, Vader, R2, 3PO, a few stormies and possible some new Ugnaughts, and a new Boba Fett with better coloring, a new helmet, and use of the clone jetpack.

I really think "clouded with mystery" sounds waaaaay too corny to be coincidental...

I agree Darthperson. I however dislike the idea of another Slave 1 unless UCS. I fear another mini model like the DV TIE fighter. Although a nice selection of figs would be welcome.

I wonder what a crazy Ugnaut looks like...

Anyways, as long as it has detailed (cannon) rooms and decent figures I'm getting it. :classic:

Greetings,

JD

EDIT: Another reason I may get it is if I have the money...unlikely.

We know.

Also please discuss the availability of the new wave in the proper topic.

This one would drown if we were to post everything here.

Soon we'll have more news for you people.

KimT, with images, or you know?)

Hopefully TLG will present some good things at the upcoming Brickfair or Toyfair or whatever the name is in the US next week. They did show us the Death Star last year.
