Pirate Pete Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I don't know where you saw that. I couldn't see anything about that in the page between my post and the first pic.Why is it more expensive then? I imagine that it is more expensive because it has a hardback instead of paperback. That's just a guess, i'm not positive Quote
Big Pete Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 they're both hardbacks ... the RRPs are the right way around, i.e. the library version, minus the figure, is cheaper. However, for some reason, Amazon is discounting the library edition by only 9% compared to the 30% discount on the normal edition ... and that means the normal one is cheaper, at the moment, than the library version. Not that it matters anyway, why would any Lego fan choose to buy the book WITHOUT the exclusive figure?!?!?! Quote
ADHO15 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Not that it matters anyway, why would any Lego fan choose to buy the book WITHOUT the exclusive figure?!?!?! My thoughts exactly! Thanks for clearing that up. Quote
Legoman Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I'm actully quite looking forward to the book. Thankas for finding the proper pic. The fig is excellent too! Now i just hope it actully has some decent stuff and info in it. I know Jeremy wrote some of it. But lets just say that didn't exactly boost my confidence (kidding, kidding.... ) Man... I'm dying waiting out for pics of the Red Bull Racer Rebel Blockade Runner Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I pre-ordered the book yesterday - so I hope it than will arrive at the beginning of October. I actually only buy it for the exclusive Luke minifig since I wouldn't have bought it when it wouldn't have included this special minifig. Well, perhaps a bit much money for only one minifig - but when I'd want to buy it seperately on Ebay after the release of the book I supposably would have to pay the same price. Can't await until next Sunday to hopefully see come pics of the RBR! Do you think that it'll then be ready for preorder soon (like last year's DS)? Klaus-Dieter Quote
CaptainRex110 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Hey, did anyone else notice that on the chrome stormtrooper the "chrome" paint or whatever does not completely cover it? On mine at least, it doesn't cover the inside of the legs, or behind the arms. Does anyone else think that that isn't right (just as the Chrome Vader is perfect and FREE). Quote

Imagine the proper replies you'd be getting had you posted this in the topic on the Silver Stormie I suggest you redo/retype the question there and those who've got it will surely reply. Quote
Gnewal Gwevus Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 This is great! I love that Luke figure. I can't wait until the first of October! It's 11.89 for the normal book or 13.46 for the 'Library edition' (not sure what the difference is yet) on Amazon.co.uk. I think this is a bit out-dated. That must have been cleared up during the time it was posted and it's a bit obvious now so I don't think you needed to post that. Sorry, I didn't know how outdated that was. Anyway, I wanted to speak my mind about the lack of Commander Bly, and I thought that would be a convenient time. Quote
Derek Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I don't know about everyone else, but talking about the new sets is getting a little old. They just need to release them worldwide already! I do hope that the Chrome Stormtrooper will be on S@H, I saw him in whungs BS gallery yesterday, so it probably will be... Quote
smokebelch Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 New set instructions for the summer sets are now up at S@h- although the battle of Endor is missing part 1 of 2, which annoyingly was the one i was after for the AT-ST instructions. No sign of the Home One instructions though. Quote
Sir von Lego Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Hi, can anyone tell me where I can find the chrome Stormtrooper? Will it become available in Europe? I read that it is sold out in the LL California? greetings Hendrik Quote
-JD- Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I think it will be in Lego Stores and on S@H around July. I love that figure so much! Shame about the chrome not being everywhere. Does anyone know how many pages the new book has? Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Wasn't the unveiling of the DS last year announced some days before Brickworld? So perhaps the Tantive 4 won't be shown there. But I really hope that it'll be shown there since we already got pics of 10197, too. Btw: I read quickly through the program of Brickworld: If TLG unveils the RBR there then very supposably either on Saturday 10-14 pm - or even more supposably on Sunday 10-13 pm. So about six days until we'll have pics - if TLG unveils it there. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Having seen a picture of a SW OT chess MOC here I had an idea: Since there was that huge Castle chess last year and this year is the 10ths anniversary of Lego SW: Do you think that TLG will surprise us with a SW chess? I personally don't think so because of the high costs of the many minifigs. And I even hope that we won't get one since I surely wouldn't be aible to afford it anyway. Klaus-Dieter Quote
commdr_neyo Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 well, maybe they can make one with mini ships! Quote

And I even hope that we won't get one since I surely wouldn't be aible to afford it anyway. I wish they would make an almost completely minifigure chess set. (Yes, I play chess. I'm a nerd, I know. ) As far as costs, I think they could pull it off, providing it was an exclusive or something like that. With the Death Star II, the new Dropship and AT-OT, and especially the UCS Falcon, I don't think costs to them would really be that much of an issue. If they made one though, I would kind of want one side to be OT, and the other side PT. Quote
Takanuva-nui Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 If they made one though, I would kind of want one side to be OT, and the other side PT. Well if I were dishing out that kinda money for an expensive exclusive, the least I could ask would be to have both a PT and an OT selection for both sides T-Nui Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I know this may be a rant, but $200 AUD for The Battle For Endor! I really hope its just the credit crunch! Quote

-JD- Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 (edited) How horrific this would be if the new set was a Red Bull Racer! Anyway, anyone here going to BrickWorld to see the set pictures and the other stuff? I need to go to more of these events, but there is hardly any in the UK I believe. Is there any information on the RBR except the set number? Greetings, JD Edited June 17, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote

If it really was the Red Bull Racer, I would laugh. No, not because I'm mean or anything, but because I don't absolutely have to buy it, like my life depends on it or something. And what set pictures are you talking about? Prelims for later this year or next year? Quote
Hewman Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Well if I were dishing out that kinda money for an expensive exclusive, the least I could ask would be to have both a PT and an OT selection for both sides T-Nui I think the concept of a chess set has been brought up before and Lego actually said they'd love to make one but it will be too costly because of licensing, I think they said their licensing fees is tied to the number of minifigs in a set. But a chess set is something that is pretty easy to MOC up for yourself. Quote
