Bobskink Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) What's so confusing about it? 2009 sets and rumors, and 2010 sets and rumors until another thread is made (in December like last year, or whenever KimT decides). Discuss. Since we are already talking about 2010 sets and the title clearly states 2099 sets. Maybe not confusing for us, but it is understandble confusing for the new people or not so regular vistors, like me. It could also be that this is done to not to annoy and divert TLC a litle bid, than I completely understand. Maybe it's just me, but these topic's are always so huge, when you are away for a week, it has 20 more pages and you don't know were to start. It hapened that I found out about some new sets weeks after it was already being discussed here and I was to late to join the hype. I wouldn't mind if it is cut in different parts like first half 2009 and second half 2009... I know, I'm going of topic, but some feedback is always welcome I presume. New (?) newsflashes concerning S@H Europe and Star Wars: the Tantive IV seems to have been moved back to October 9th (US still September 9th), and the chrome Stormtrooper, which was first supposed to be order-able from August 5th is now nowhere to be seen? Strange, and especially in the case of the chrome Stormie, slightly disconcerning. I hope these still will become available! Don't worry, eventualy you are always able to get the set's, that is a good thing about Lego. Edited August 7, 2009 by Bobskink Quote

I've changed the title to suit the discussion. Now can we leave this and get on? Stealth Hunter Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Is there any new information about the Chrome Vader promotion by Galeria Kaufhof in Germany? It was mention somewhere around page 100l, I think, and it said that the Chrome Vaders would be give-aways, however there wasn't a specific date. If I remember correctly it only said august. Quote
KimT Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 That's a good question. I suggest you repost it here, then it wont drown in this topic. Quote
rockinkurt13 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 yes, but one thing may be truw of the battle packs, maybe the rebels are on the left, while as snowtroopers on the right... so that "wampa" could be a taun taun or maybe even a wampa Quote
Commander Assassin Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) so that "wampa" could be a taun taun or maybe even a wampa I, personally don't remember a Wampa fighting for either side. I can't find any reason why TLC would include a Wampa in a BP. Edited August 7, 2009 by Clone Commander Assassin Quote

I just don't see how or why a wampa/tauntaun should be in a Battle Pack? The price difference between the battle packs and the set with the tauntaun should lead to the conclusion that we wont be seeing a tauntaun or wampa in such a set. - The price just isn't right. Also why would they release a set with a tauntaun just to add it to a Battle Pack? Why would they include a wampa in a battle pack? I am so sorry, but it's a dream not going to happen. Looks like a white speederbike to me, which would correspond with the usual brickcount and size of a battlepack. I, personally don't remember a Wampa fighting for either side. I can't find any reason why TLC would include a Wampa in a BP. Damn, you beat me to it Quote

WookieeWarrior Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that Luke's landspeeder will likely have the same windshield as the Indy Venice boats had. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 A note to the "Luke's Landspeeder" set: Since next year will be the 30th years celebration of ESB and since the rumors last year said that there'll be a TIE Bomber this year which turned out to be the Hyenna Droid Bomber: Couldn't it be that the source mixed something up and that we'll get a Snowspeeder instead of a Landspeeder? EDIT: I cant remember if this has been asked before but is the Tantive IV just a S@H exclusive or will it be in stores? It is an exlusive set that will be only sold via S@H and in the Lego Stores. Oky Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Since next year will be the 30th years celebration of ESB and since the rumors last year said that there'll be a TIE Bomber this year which turned out to be the Hyenna Droid Bomber: Couldn't it be that the source mixed something up and that we'll get a Snowspeeder instead of a Landspeeder? I don't think it said TIE Bomber. I'm pretty sure that it said Hyena Bomber from the start, but OT fans were confused and thought/wished it was a TIE Bomber. This year, it specifically states "Luke's Landspeeder" which is hardly confusable with a snowspeeder IMO. I'm not saying that it's set in stone that it's the landspeeder, considering it's just a rumor for now, but that's what we have to assume at the moment. The boats fit two minifigs. He meant that they are 6 studs wide, whereas the last Landspeeder was 8 studs wide. It would be good but I think it may be too small for it So did the windshield piece TLC has used on the last Landspeeder. Except this new curved piece would actually look good on it. So, yes, if the Landspeeder will be minifig scale, I'm sure it'll have that piece. I modified the first Landspeeder (which is 6 studs wide) to have that new piece and it fits perfectly. And why are some people wanting it to be USC? They don't want it to be USC, they want it to be UCS. Get your acronyms straight. Edited August 9, 2009 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote

No, I remember the list at Jedi News saying TIE bomber. So it could very well be a Snowspeeder, and the source just got mixed up and called it a landspeeder. That's what I'm convinced happened last year. And I think that "snowspeeder" and "landspeeder" would be very easily confused to someone who isnt a SW fan... Quote
Oky Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 But why would it be called Luke's Landspeeder if it really is a snowspeeder? There is no difference between the snowspeeder that Luke flew and the other ones. However, if it really is a Landspeeder, it would make sense to say that it's Luke's, because the landspeeders seen in the movies are different. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Well, the did call this years Y-wing Anakin's Y-wing, so how was that any different than the one, say, Matchstick flew? I am do believe in the possibility of it being a T-47 Airspeeder. Quote

Millacol88 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Well, there were different "squadrons" of snowspeeders, right? It could have some unique markings. I like the idea of a new snowspeeder. Quote

Until then, I totally encourage anyone else to so the same. Nothing to get excited about, but I just thought I'd share this: My own pathetic attempts at enlarging the blurry BP pics. Not much better than what we have seen before, but it's starting to look more and more like a Hoth Rebel BP with a pilot and an Imperial BP with Snowtroopers to me. The trooper on the speederbike kinda looks like he could be a scout trooper, but that's just speculation and wouldn't make much sense. Edited August 10, 2009 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
-JD- Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 The trooper on the speederbike kinda looks like he could be a scout trooper, but that's just speculation and wouldn't make much sense. That would make sense, because there was Scout Troopers on Hoth. They had the helmets and armour with snowtrooper arms and legs. Example I suppose it could be a SnowSpeeder not a Land Speeder, but we just had one last year in the Echo Base set. Quote
