Darth Legolas Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The Venator definitely has blue plates in the engines, Bricks provided the picture, and there are more. When the set is released, it will have six back engines, not exactly correct, but it's perfectly OK for me. Two large, two medium, and two small. Quote

Natman8000 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Oooh the engine setup is very nice. Im a bit disappointed that there are so many techic holes there should be some thing plugging them up. Quote
ILikePi Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) Wow, the At-OT set looks expensive... Is it the same price as the millenium falcon? Do you mean the UCS Millenium Falcon? If so, no way. 10195 is about half the price of the Falcon, in the UK anyway. Oh and by the way, it's EXACTLY half the price of the Falcon in the US. Oooh the engine setup is very nice. Im a bit disappointed that there are so many techic holes there should be some thing plugging them up. Well, at least there's less holes and whatnot than the Imperial Star Destroyer! EDIT: Also, I hope that the final version of the Venator uses more cyan/blue. It looks really good to me. ANOTHER EDIT: Did anyone notice that there's some blaster holders in the Endor base? Here's a picture: A THIRD EDIT (since no one is posting... ): I don't know why LEGO doesn't make another color of half-technic pin. It would look better if it was grey...here a picture of the blue pin (at the middle left): AN EDIT WITHIN THE THIRD EDIT: Here's yet another picture (its worse here): Edited February 26, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
Bricklanta Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I just realized that the Senate Commando's have a fleshy face. I used to think that the black part of the helmet was part of the head. http://www.flickr.com/photos/no_onions/328...57613819221413/ Quote
ILikePi Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) I wish that LEGO would make included blue capes for the senate commandos. If they did, they would go pretty well with royal guard minifigures. Except for the blue clone torso and black hips, of course. But LEGO would never go that off with a minifigure. :P a Senate Guard minifigure along with those Senate Commandos. Senate Guards would go very well with Royal Guards. Mocha Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 ILikePi : Wow I never noticed how many the Venator had on the side until that third pic...That really disapointed me... I'm still going to get it though. Quote
ILikePi Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) Yeah, I don't understand why LEGO won't make a grey pin. There's so many sets with that blue pin... and usually it's easily seen. EDIT: I can count 13 blue pins in the third picture of my post. Edited February 26, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Wait does the Senate Commando's have new guns? Quote
Bobskink Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Wait does the Senate Commando's have new guns? I think not, he's just holding it a strange way, you can see it on the next picture, but I'm not 100% sure since I don't know the guns that well. Quote

ADHO15 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Oh and by the way, it's EXACTLY half the price of the Falcon in the US. But I'm not from the US. In the UK, the Falcon is £342.49, half of which is £171.25, not £166.35 which is what it costs. That's why I said about half price and not exactly. Did anyone notice that there's some blaster holders in the Endor base? I had noticed that. It seems like a nice feature to stop you losing the guns when you're not using them. Wait does the Senate Commando's have new guns? If you look in this picture, you can see it's an ordinary rifle. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Blue pins, tan pins, it's not all the irritating. In some places it can be very very prominent but in a ship like this, when you see it, you say "look, a Venator!", and not "look, a Venator with ugly blue pins everywhere!" I'm sure you can even MOD it, but if you really want to, dick up the ancient black pins from the 2000 and back, and replace it with those! And the guns don't really matter, I love minifig detailing, but I'm not going to look at a Harry Potter minifig and say, "That scar is .002 millimeters off from his forehead!" As long as the Senate Commandos have the rifles and not handblasters, I'm fine. Quote
halomaster96 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Does anyone know if the corperate alliance tank droid could hold a droid in it? Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) Does anyone know if the corperate alliance tank droid could hold a droid in it? Nope, and you're not the first person to ask. No one knows, and I don't care all too much considering the tank is meant to pilot itself! But since on the box picture in the back it showed nothing, then I don't think it does. BUT: On the back of the box, thanks for prompting me to look, we can see that just like on the AAT the guns are also flickfire missiles, and the set includes a fling launching pad to send the two Jet Troopers into the air! (With the good backpacks, and don't you forget it!) Edited February 26, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote

I really hate it when the TLC makes those little add ons. I'd rather them throw another clone in instead. Quote
daxflame680 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I really hate it when the TLC makes those little add ons. I'd rather them throw another clone in instead. Well of course you do! We want actual models! Not thrower-into-the-airers designed by a 4 year old! Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) Well of course you do!We want actual models! Not thrower-into-the-airers designed by a 4 year old! Personally, I'd just use it as a launcher to send my jet trooper straight into the Tank. "Ouch." It'll be fun, plus, we get a little more pieces then we expected so it's more of a value for money. But since it's shown no where else you might have to take apart the yank to make the stupid launcher! EDIT: Hoorah! Just watched a toyfair video from Count Blockula and it seems like the flinger comes separate! But if you did have to take apart the tank to make it, I'd instantly say "Not in a million zillion years!" But now I could use this maybe as a... uh... piece of ground that shoots up when a bomb hits! Edited February 27, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote

KimT Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 I know. I just wanted to tell everyone in Europe that's its half price in the US. You're new around here, aren't you? Perhaps reading the Star Wars Forum Index might be helpfull. Also we've known that fact for at least 10 years. We want actual models! Not thrower-into-the-airers designed by a 4 year old! Remember that LEGO is all about playability and it's intended for kids. And I highly doubt the designer is 4 years old. And good luck in getting the actual model - I am fairly sure that this model doesn't exist in 'real life'. Quote
Ras 74 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 And I highly doubt the designer is 4 years old. This made my morning.Could just picture it in my head. Would look sweet though. I also have some point of views in this matter with the Venator. But I like that we are getting one. I will mod my one when I get the hands on it like I did with my ISD. Then you will not see the blue pins -Ras- Quote
pr0visorak Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I think Lego uses the blue ones to cut cost, after all I think they bought a lot of blue paint and is just using it till it runs out. That is one possibility. Quote

ADHO15 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Lego pieces don't work that way, but whatever How do they work, then? Why would they use blue pins rather than more suitable black or grey pins? Quote
