A better question, my friend, do you have that set?

As a matter of fact I do. I got it for $60 at Target on Black Friday.

I thought you were talking about the VENATOR! Now I get it! Only those lucky few have a Venator now, 3-4 months before it comes out!

I know you are entitled to your own opinion, but do you even have that set?! The Venator wastes sooo much space, its a shame that they didn't to an open interior like in 6211. Half of the ship (All of the interior space... :hmpf:) is wasted on Palpatine's office....

I do agree that the playability on the Venator is better, but only missile/bomb wise...

I have 6211, and I love it. There is way more space in an open interior (especially for modding), but getting to it involves putting the ship on a large open space and removing the superstructure. The smaller space in the Venator is much easier to access, and the missle/bomb stuff works pretty well. Plus, the ship itself looks sturdier. I agree with you that 6211 is great for MODs and display, but I think the Venator will be a lot more fun when built according to the instructions. I guess the point I was trying to make is that they balanced playability and interior space better in the Venator. 6211 has more space, but the playability was horrible without lots of work.

I have the money here ready and am just waiting for the final, fixed release date. I will review it if nobody beats me to it. The ways it's going at the moment, it looks like US will get it a month before the UK so I doubt I'll have chance.

Up to 3 reviews of the same set will be indexed. :classic: Its good to get more than one perpective on a set, especially one of that size. So you've still got a chance.

Is anyone here actually planning on getting the dropship for real? Are you going to review it? :classic:

Well I'm American and have been working my little but off lately to fit it into the budget, I'll order it the minute it becomes available! I've never reviewed anything before but I'll give it a shot, if its awful KimT doesn't have to index it and I'll get some pointers.

I doubt LEGO is "lazy," thy just know what they can get away with. $120 for a ship the Venator's size is not that bad, and Palpy and his guards are awesome minifigures, in my opinion. I agree that the dropship is somewhat overpriced for it's piece count, but it is a big set. If it's too expensive for you, just don't get it.

(Also, and I really don't want to sound mean, could you please use some punctuation? That is very hard to read and comes off as just a storming rant.)

I would buy the AT-OT, but I really cant afford it. Actually, come to think of it I never really spend over 40 dollars at a time on lego. I manage to keep my lego economized.

I would but I dont think Im gonna have enough money in time. Im ganna be a tad short. But hopefully that changes.

I don't know if this been said before...

But the realese-date of the '10195: Dropship with AT-OT' changed again in Europe.

And ''just'' a month later than the United States :sadnew: ...

It still says 30 March in the Netherlands. So it's not (yet) whole Europe.

I think (and hope :cry_sad: ) it will be changed back to 30th March for everywhere. I'm going by what the picture says, as that has not changed at all.

You're wrong, hole europe...

...29 May 2009!

And I think this realese date is much better (to save money) :classic:

Perhaps discussing when the 10195 AT-OT & Dropship will be released has to cease now

It changes from day to day at the moment and personally I've just about had it with posts about it.

Suggestion is: check shop.lego.com regularily for when it'll be released.

Let's not cluster this topic with it anymore.

I agree. And seeing as this is the 2009 sets thread, I'm considering buying an AAT and Republic Shuttle. I'll have to go to the review index to make my decision. (and yes, I can afford it as well as 'other things' )

I'm excited about the Republic Shuttle because it seems it has so many features - flick fire missiles that don't have to be flicked (a-la Vikings), folding wings, dropping bombs and Mace Windu!

You're considering buying these sets just because of what this thread is about?

Seriously, though, I think you fail to see the point of this thread yet again, Rancor. This is not a "Oh, I'm so gonna get this, but I'm not getting that" thread. It's not for commenting on already released sets either. That's what the review threads are for. This thread is for discussing rumors and facts about upcoming sets - the ones in the first post. KimT has been rather clear about that IMO.

Sorry for mini-moding.

Back on topic:

Do you guys think that the new sets will have the old kind of R2 (white dome) or the new DS kind (grey dome). I know this has been discussed before, but I don't remember us getting to any conclusion. :sceptic: And this will be a big factor in my decision to buy or not to buy the Endor Battle and Ywing sets. So, any idea?

Well, according to the pictures from Toy Fair, the Endor Battle has the same R2 head as the Death Star:

The Y-Wing has what I believe is a new Clone Wars R2 paint job:

Hope that helps!

Yeah, I guess you're right. Since they were like that on Toy Fair, they'll probably be like that in the final set. That's good news as this Artoo looks so much better than the old one!

Oh? What's the difference? :look:

It does thanks, but that CW R2 looks a bit :sceptic:

Is the gunner's dome on the BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighter () a 'half-golf ball' or 'half-asteroid piece' (I don't know their proper names)? It looks patterned in that picture, rather than smooth. I thought it was a half-dome like the middle of the Droid Tri-fighter or the RGS wing turrets.

Ih. If the Y-wing gives you a tail gunner, then it might not be too bad to get now. At first I wasn't too thrilled as I thought it was a too much of a dupe of a older y-wing.

At Toy Fair, it was the half golf ball piece. On preliminaries a while ago it looked like the smooth piece you mentioned.

The Clone Wars R2 is slightly different. The printings to the right of his eye are different than the printings in the same place on the Death Star R2. (That is R2's right, to the left in the Y-Wing picture above, just for clarity.)

Golf ball of course! Why would it be an asteroid? You can't even build those pieces onto anything. :sceptic:

And it couldn't be an RGS bubble turret piece since those are six studs wide, and the cockpit of the Y-Wing is only four wide.

Now, since I saw the bubble dome design for the Y-wing, I might actually get it....

That bubble dome/golfball/asteroid in trans-clear is awesome.

I really need to get me more than one of those.

Hopefully we'll see them in other not-so-pricey-sets than Star Wars
