Here's another really bad fake. Posting it here before anyone gullible gets any ideas...

Now, since I saw the bubble dome design for the Y-wing, I might actually get it....

It looks more realistic than Saesee Tiin's fighter, and that's a set I'd really like to see, as I don't have the new vulture and they are constantly changing the design.

Golf ball of course! Why would it be an asteroid? You can't even build those pieces onto anything.

And it couldn't be an RGS bubble turret piece since those are six studs wide, and the cockpit of the Y-Wing is only four wide.

Okay, okay. I was only asking. I see now that the smooth dome is too big. Thanks to you and Clone O'Patra for pointing it out.

If the Y-wing gives you a tail gunner, then it might not be too bad to get now.

If you mean tail gunner station, then yes, it does. But it's a big minus to me that it doesn't rotate. :sceptic:

It's not as bad a fake as others are. As ADHO15 said, Saesee Tiin's JSF was much worse. The only thing that tips you off here is that the Vulture droid is much too small for the box art. Otherwise it's actually not bad.

Would be nice though, if they would sell these separately. This would be a nice way to build an armada of them, and the SW theme could use some more sets under $20.

The Y-wing doesn't even swivel! That's exactly why I'm not getting it.

That isn't the bubble turret from the LAAT (and I should know, I have it) because it doesn't have the clips at the back.

That's the great thing about LEGO, you can always modify the design to suit your needs.

This isn't a glue and build toy - this is modifiable

This 30208.gif is the bubble we're discussing, isn't it?

And this 'Cylinder Hemisphere 4 x 4 Multifaceted' is the name for it.

It is. Thanks for providing a better pic and it's proper name. :classic:

The font is also wrong and a bit small. At least they got the box layout correct.

Personally, I don't care if the Y-wing has one interesting piece in it. :sadnew: It's still too similar to the one from 2007. :sceptic:

I really don't think it looks that similar, but I won't be getting it because of the price/one Y-wing is enough for me.

I don't see any similarities with the 2007 one either. :sceptic: This one has a completely different design, a reverse color scheme, and an added gunner station. The only thing that's similar to the old Y-Wing is its overal shape, which is kinda crucial for this to be a predecessor of the Y-Wing.

Even though I don't have any Y-Wings, I wont get this one either because I'm not a huge fan of Y-Wings and can't afford it. However, if I see it on sale sometime in 2010, I might get it after all.

That's the great thing about LEGO, you can always modify the design to suit your needs.

It'll be hard, though, to get it to swivel at this scale. :sceptic: But I guess it makes for a good challenge.

You're wrong, hole europe...

...29 May 2009!

And I think this realese date is much better (to save money) :classic:

'Bricks'

 Thats hilarious. Sorry but it is. TLC cant make up their minds. Move it forward then back. Im kind of hoping they move the date for the US. Better time to save money. Who knows. Maybe theyll just delay it till august. Now that would suck.

While we're talking about Y-Wings, I'm not really interested in it at all. Nothing going for me. I don't care about the new R2-D2 because I've already got one and I don't really care that it's different because then it's inconsistent with all my other astromechs. Anakin and Ahsoka are in every other set so I'll get one eventually (I don't even want Ahsoka), probably in the AT-TE.

I agree. The sets is (forgive me), pricey, and doesn't look that great. The OT version from '07 looks much, much better, and is cheaper. I wonder if someone will make comparisons between them as Dr. S did with the RGS comparisons and the AT-TE comparisons (link goes here).

Damn, I really hope that isn't fake. I certainly wouldn't mind having it.

It obviously is fake...

I wish that it could be a real set, because I don't have any vulture droids at the moment. :sadnew:

Personally, I think it'd be great to be able to get a nice looking larger Vulture on it's own(and with an affordable price tag), but I highly doubt that'll ever happen.

Some guys are to free and has nothing else better to do. So he came up with the dumb idea to prank us the LEGO Star Wars fans. Really don't know what that guy is thinking.

Wonder who will actually wants another vulture droid after there are so many release of it, including that Hyena Droid Bomber. But that set is acceptable as it looks good to me.

I think we should get back on topic, we're only talking about the fake vulture droid.

Anyways that Y-Wing looks quite different from the 2007 one, one reason is that the shape is very different and the Y-Wing

has a gunner

I found this set today in the Easter stuff section @ Target for $3.99 (only one they had...)

Yup, that and the Mini V-19 Torrent were discussed a couple pages back, but I think the consensus was they weren't technically '09 sets.

Okay - I'm not a huge SW thread follower, so I was just trying to help.
