KimT Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Okay - I'm not a huge SW thread follower, so I was just trying to help. No problemo Help is always appreciated Quote
Millacol88 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I agree. The sets is (forgive me), pricey, and doesn't look that great. The OT version from '07 looks much, much better, and is cheaper. I wonder if someone will make comparisons between them as Dr. S did with the RGS comparisons and the AT-TE comparisons (link goes here). If ever I have an excess of cash and nothing else to spend it on, and I buy the set, I may just do that, Jim. Quote

Lego style, where you break off a chunk and throw in about a hundred or so Trans-Orange bricks. Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I don't even have a 2007 Y-wing! (I'm probaly not missing much though) Quote
Millacol88 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I don't even have a 2007 Y-wing! (I'm probaly not missing much though) In my opinion, the y-wing from 2007 is way better than the new one. But it depends whether you like OT or not. Quote
baby Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I guess the new Y-wing is uglier because of the shape at the front that is a flat and square plus that round turret thing at the back. And we have Anakin, Ahsoka and R2 again but at least R2 is a little different. Quote
Millacol88 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 A better variety of figures would have been nice ( 2 clone pilots, and an astromech other than R2). Quote
cavegod Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 why do people keep moaning about getting another anakin, ashoka, r2d2, when classic space was about you just got white yellow and red minifigs. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 why do people keep moaning about getting another anakin, ashoka, r2d2, when classic space was about you just got white yellow and red minifigs. Getting a third Ahsoka wouldn't be too bad. I mean, then I'd have Ahsoka, Commando Ahsoka, and Shaak Ti! Too bad for me. Quote
Millacol88 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 why do people keep moaning about getting another anakin, ashoka, r2d2, when classic space was about you just got white yellow and red minifigs. Because getting many "faceless" characters, such as clones, and the minifigures in classic space, is fine because it lends itself to building an army. Getting a whole bunch of main characters such as Anakin and Ashoka, is pointless because you only ever need one. EDIT: Legolas, thats an interesting spin on things. Quote
Captain REX Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Commando Ahsoka Commando Ahsoka? What does that mean? Back on topic i agree that should have more variety in minifigs, clone pilots would have been more ideal. Quote

Certain "sources" (the Clone Wars DVD extra features,) have shown a 2.5 second clip of Ahsoka running around in what looks exactly like girl versions of Storm Trooper armor, without a helmet. Known as "Commando armor," on Wookiepedia. Quote

CommanderCody77 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) The problem with Wookieepedia is that a five-year-old could have written that. True, but the armor does look like "Commando armor" Edited March 20, 2009 by CommanderCody77 Quote
Derek Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) The problem with Wookieepedia is that a five-year-old could have written that. He is saying that is what its called on Wookiepedia. He saw the actual armor on the Clone Wars DVD (pretty reliable if you ask me... ) I have yet to get an Ahsoka. I was hoping to get the Twilight for half-price, but that deal went away a few days ago. I really have no interest in the AT-TE, and there is no way in H-E-double-hockey-sticks that I am forking out $40 (plus shipping, $10 ) for the Starfighter, a $25 sized set. Its a set that is basically just different colors of things we already have. I'm personally waiting for the right set to get Ahsoka in. Look at the Indiana Jones line. The SAME EXACT Indy figure was in EVERY of the first 10 or so sets (and then some...), it seems most of you dealed with that. Ahsoka is also a main character, and this will make her 4th set in 3 waves? I really don't see the big deal... I understand you want pilots, try selling the Anakin and Ahsoka figures on Bricklink and use the money to buy pilots... Edited March 20, 2009 by darthperson Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I don't know why couldn't TLC make pilots for the Y-Wing, maybe because it would take a long time to make the pilots like matchstick or it would be too expensive. Anyways, do you think TLC will change the hair for Mon Mothma? Quote

It wouldn't have been too expensive (they already have a clone pilot minifigure. I think it's likely that TLC included only the core figures in this set so that it would more appeal to kids who want their favourite characters from the show. Quote
Derek Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Anyways, do you think TLC will change the hair for Mon Mothma? I would hope so. There are plenty of other obscure pieces that could be used (and look much better) like Umbridge's from HP or the one that Leia has in the Endor set. Quote

A new mold definitely is not needed, and I hope they will replace it with one that hasn't appeared in a well-known fig in the past couple of years. Quote

Well, I think that it looks just fine on her, it's not as as if it hasn't appeared in many different figures. Im actually quite happy with the heads in that set, especially the dark tan hair. Quote

Darth Legolas Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) They did ,rascal .... I totally knew that! Dork! Okay, I know that's pushing it. Anyways, I am stilling wondering if they have anything on the inside of the snail tank. There's a lot of room in there! Possibley you could put the fling-pad inside, for storage? Natman8000 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I AM NOT A DORK! I think that fllingy device will just sit on the side, I bet there wont be too much inside. Quote
