Millacol88 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I'm betting on blonde. It makes more sense in fitting with the series and I doubt they would make both Dooku and Palpy have the exact same hair. Quote
Bricks Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Bricks, you do know that both of the options you gave end up with Palpatine having blond hair? No, you're wrong. I said... -Box is wrong->grey hair -Figure is wrong->blond hair I believe what Bricks meant was that either the box is preliminary and LEGO will later change the box to have him with gray hair, or the figure with gray hair is preliminary and they will change the figure to match the box. You're right. 'Bricks' Quote
ADHO15 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 In The Phantom Menace, Palpy had blond hair, In Attack of the Clones, he had greyish blond and in the CW seris he has greyish blond hair aswell.Look, i think the figure will be blond aswell. Yes, thank you. I did post that pic near the top of the page. Episode 1 (blonde/grey) Episode 2 (grey) The Clone Wars (blonde) Episode 3 (grey) = an unusual pattern. I'm betting on blonde. It makes more sense in fitting with the series and I doubt they would make both Dooku and Palpy have the exact same hair. I completely agree with you. Quote
Derek Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) Ok. Ok. Ok. I'm not trying to do the moderators' job, but is roughly two pages of discussion of Palpatine's hair color really necessary? No offense, but little nitpicky things like that are why people think Star Wars fans are nerdy. I personally see them keeping it grey, it looks fine, and I don't think it is necessary to do a new run of the piece in tan or whatever color it would be. But can we please direct the converstion towards something else? I keep checking this thread for news, just to find more banter about Palpy's hair. Edited March 22, 2009 by darthperson Quote

As I said, it is on-topic to the 2009 set, but I agree it can end now. I take no offense being called a Star Wars nerd, in fact, I agree also. What's up for discussion next, then? Quote
starstreak Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) I called the Disneyland Lego store. Sold out as of Friday. Well that sucked but to be expected. Update: I called the Legoland store also. Bummer. They also got it in, but sold out. I should check ebay. I bet a guy bought it all out to resell at $500. lol I just wanted to let everyone know that the new 10195 Dropship and AT-OT set is now available at the Lego Store in Anahiem. In talking with the store manager, he said that they were given instructions to put it on the shelves as soon as they got it in. So all the Lego stores should be selling it soon, if they are not already doing so. It looks even more awesome in person. Edited March 22, 2009 by starstreak Quote

Natman8000 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 You know, that is probably true. Yeah, I remember when the Wii came out, people were selling it for thousands of dollars. The dropship is worth waiting for IMO. Quote
starstreak Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 There's a couple doh. $300+ You know, that is probably true. Quote
The Who Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Yeah, I remember when the Wii came out, people were selling it for thousands of dollars. The dropship is worth waiting for IMO. I would be pretty happy if I was canstantly in the situation of either: 1.-Buy it now, waste money, live in the moment. or 2.-Wait ten days, save about $200. Which sounds smarter? Quote

Which sounds smarter? Obviously the first one... I would much rather have it right now for twice the price than a week later for regular price. Too bad there are no lego stores where I live (closest ones about 3-4 hours away), or I would go check this set out. My birthday is April 10th, so maybe I'll get lucky with this set . Quote

Exactly my point. As far as stores, my closest two are about 1.5 and 2 states away from where I live. (U.S.) Quote

SWMAN Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Just FYI, the AT-OT and Dropship has been relegated to simply "Coming Soon" without a date. I see that they have been seen in stores, so I am assuming they will come out as scheduled. Unfortunately, I will be out of the country without my computer when it is released, so I will have to wait a few days before I can purchase it and it will not be waiting for me when I get home. It probably won't be waiting when you get home even if you order it before you leave. Not unless you have a neighbor who's going to keep your mail and packages safe while you're somewhere else (or are people in your house staying?). Quote

I love 10195 and will buy it the day it comes on Shop@Home, though it will still probably be about a week before it arrives here. Quote
super cheese Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 i cant wait tell these come out. i will get that tank droid endor and the hoth one. this will be cool. Quote
Derek Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 To all of you who are considering buying the dropship on eBay for lots of more money- surely you can't be serious? The set already cost an arm and a leg to begin with, but to spend hundreds of more dollars to buy it on eBay (and shipping) just to get it a few days earlier just seems foolish to me. It would probably be cheaper to drive to the nearest Lego store, even if it is in a different state, to buy it. You all can do what you want, but it just seems like a poor decision to me. If it were me, I would wait and order it from S@H and use the money I would have wasted on a scalper to buy something more useful. No wonder why the world is in the economic situation it is in... Just my two cents. Quote
starstreak Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) I didn't think that many people would've paid $250+ for that set. Kinda amazed when I called the store and found out they got it on Friday and sold out the same day. At least that's what the lady said. Oh, one of the ebay items was *preorder* but more than once, he said it would ship when he gets the money...right. There's one for sale in Bricklink. That one says onhand. I wonder how much shipping would be. That box looks to be large. Darthperson- No... I won't buy from Ebay. I WANT it, but not crazy. Well..not that crazy. And supercheese- What's with that picture? swman- Yeah, coming soon is gone, but the Mach 30th tag is still there. Edited March 23, 2009 by starstreak Quote

starstreak Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 What has me worried is I haven't recieved a confirmation email yet. Normally when I order from lego.com I get something in the email. Nothing yet... Quote
ADHO15 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Yes! I've just ordered mine! My review will hopefully be up in about a week! What has me worried is I haven't recieved a confirmation email yet. Normally when I order from lego.com I get something in the email. Nothing yet... I'll have to check tomorrow and see if I've been sent one. Quote
starstreak Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 You'll get it. My email came in about an hour later. I wish I wasn't in such a rush. I should've ordered all the Lego that was too exspensive to buy here locally. But I didn't want to risk it going "sold-out" or something. lol. Now if I order something else, I have to pay the shipping again. doh. Yes! I've just ordered mine! My review will hopefully be up in about a week! I'll have to check tomorrow and see if I've been sent one. Quote
