pedro Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Impressive! This set definately has wow factor! The minifig selection is almost perfect (the new version of Leia, the Endor Rebels the new Ewoks are simply brilliant!) with a good balance of Alliance vs. Empire and some new and rare minifigs (great inclusion of new R2 and Death Star Trooper). The bunker and other models look great and that's a far better treatment of the AT-ST too I think the only drawback is the Han minifig - it would have been great to have an Endor version of him - but that's a minor quibble really compared to the rest of the set. There appears to be so much goodness in here it's hard not to consider it a must-have in my opinion! ...and I love Chirpa's staff! Quote
Ratshot Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 That Endor base is a must for me. I can remember when I was younger(9-10) constantly building version after version of it with friends. That gray R2D2 look terrible in my mind. Quote
RileyC Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) That gray R2D2 look terrible in my mind. yea it doesnt look right to me aswell. the colour isnt great but i will grow to it. I thought that when they attacked the bunker he was just wearing his usual black pants with a tan shirt and the black vest? just like the minifig is wearing I really like how the rebel soldiers have different heads unlike the rebel in the rebel scout speeder! txtxtx Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 yea it doesnt look right to me aswell. the colour isnt great but i will grow to it. You don't have to like it, you can just sell it to some sucker on E-Bley! That AT-ST looks almost nude to me! We will have to beef it up a little before we blow it up, fellow rebels! Quote
Derek Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 That AT-ST looks almost nude to me! We will have to beef it up a little before we blow it up, fellow rebels! Its supposed to look scrawny, its nicknamed "The Chicken Walker" Quote
-JD- Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Its supposed to look scrawny, its nicknamed "The Chicken Walker" Are you calling chickens scrawny? I think that is 's apprentice disguised as a rebel in one photo. Quote
Bricklanta Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Its supposed to look scrawny, its nicknamed "The Chicken Walker" They do look funny when they're walking on Endor in The Empire Strikes Back. They look too skinny. Quote

Skipper 24 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I don't really mind about Solo personnally but I guess a new one would have been nice. On a side note txtxtx could you please resize your sig image? Quote
RoflWafls Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) I don't think Han had jacket in that scene..... Also, it's nice to have a regular, fleshy Han in a set that doesn't cost 400 or 500 bucks..... EDIT: Nope, no trenchcoat. Edited April 18, 2009 by RoflWafls Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Gee I haven't seen that part in Return of the Jedi where the Scout Trooper takes off his helmet, maybe we might get real faces for the Biker Scouts! Quote
SWMAN Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Gee I haven't seen that part in Return of the Jedi where the Scout Trooper takes off his helmet, maybe we might get real faces for the Biker Scouts! In the movie, it is a rebel who steals the Biker Scouts armor. You can see him briefly when Han and Chewie first enter the bunker and then when the rebels are captured you can see him with the rest of the group. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Thank you very much for the new and clear pics, Hinckley! This is an absolutely awesome set and surely one of the best Lego SW sets ever! Like already mentioned I'll surely buy this brilliant set although it won't be cheap. But with the many amazing minifigs, the speederbike and the bunker I must really have it! Oh, I´ve got a nice dream of Endor Battlepacks:Rebel Pack: 2 Endor Rebels, 2 Ewoks, catapult Imperial Pack: 2 Scouttrooper, 2 Navy Trooper/Officers, Speederbike or crappy Tandem-bike I totally agree with you, Navy Trooper Fenson! Two Endor BPs with these contents would be absolutely awesome! Btw: Since there were two CW (PT) BPs this january it's very supposably that we'll see two OT BPs next january, isn't it? ADHO15 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 That seems to be the trend with Lego Star Wars! But with increasingly popular CW sets, TLG may decide to make more CW BPs, such as a better BD BP. (sorry for all the acronyms! ) Quote

(sorry for all the acronyms! ) Although that may be likely, I'm not ready just yet to give up on the possibility of Hoth/Endor BPs in the coming years. Quote
ADHO15 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Although that may be likely, I'm not ready just yet to give up on the possibility of Hoth/Endor BPs in the coming years. I agree with you. I'd prefer to have Endor BPs so that I can skip the summer set and just get all the figs then, allowing me to buy the Venator instead. It would be easier, though, to buy the Battle of Endor and then Bricklink Palpatine and the Senate Commandos rather than the other way round. Quote

MaxGoof Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Who are the 3 Ewoks in the Endor Bunker set? Wicket... Chief Chirpa (?)... and... Paploo...? Quote
ADHO15 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Who are the 3 Ewoks in the Endor Bunker set? Wicket... Chief Chirpa (?)... and... Paploo...? I think so. In relation to the recent pics Wicket (on the glider) Chirpa (by the catapult) Paploo (by the bunker) I love these ewoks. They're so much more accurate (and cute ) than the others. Quote
legopiotre Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 This new Endor set is in my opinion, one of the best LEGO sets ever released. It includes so great minifigs : the Ewoks are awesome, we get at least new rebel troopers (which are great, a new Leia and three imperial troopers (two scout troopers, it has been a long time since we have not seen them and a Death Star trooper, welcomed for those who coudn't buy the Death Star. We have a lot of playability with many vehicules that are far better versions than older : The AT-ST is , the speeder bikes are once more improved... the buker itself is great, whereas the Hoth rebel base made me think it would only be a big door. I can not wait for getting this beauty into my hands ! I just hope we will get other sets as good as this one ! Quote
Satellite Jack Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I already have the original Ewoks and their catapult, with the scout trooper and bike, and I also have the original AT-ST. It would be really cool to get the Bunker set to compare everything. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Or perhaps even later this year when the next wave of sets appear. Do you mean pics of new sets or the sets themselves, Skipper 24? Because it's right that we'll surely see pics of the new January 2010 SW sets in about the middle of August (like last year) - but we surely won't be aible to get these sets before December. Although that may be likely, I'm not ready just yet to give up on the possibility of Hoth/Endor BPs in the coming years. It's very hard to say whether TLG will offer us some OT BPs in next January or some CW BPs because of the popularity of CW (like ADHO15 already mentioned). But like you already said, Millacol88, that's no reason why we should give up our hopes for OT BPs next January. TLG has to think about - and even does that - that there are a lot of SW fans which aren't interested in CW (like I) and some Endor BPs would be a perfect addition to this year's awesome Endor bunker set. The only two things which are sure are - that we surely won't get some Hoth BPs since we already get one big Hoth BP this summer and - that TLG - if we get some Endor BPS - will surely not include the main characters seen in the brilliant Endor set this summer. Otherwise it doesn't help - we'll have to wait until information about next year's sets will leak or/and until we'll see pics of these sets. Klaus-Dieter Quote
