Algernon Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Because some of us couldn't get it the first time, or found the massive one waaaayyy too expensive. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4504-1 Quote
THE-FORCE Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Just as a reminder to all. 3 and 4 May there will be an exclusive on the online LEGO shop. I found the news on Brickset. Sorry if posted before. But as I said it was a reminder. Greets, The Force. Quote
Tanma Dude Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Ok? That's wierd. I just searched up the new falcon and I found it with a 10th aniversary design on the box I can't post pics because they're confidential Quote
DarthSion Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 From that box art the snail tank looks like you pull it back and it goes off by itself?. Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4504-1 This set is out of production since 2006 and costs 200$ at the moment. Ok? That's wierd. I just searched up the new falcon and I found it with a 10th aniversary design on the box I can't post pics because they're confidential Preliminary designs. It happens often that they change details, but I never heard of a change in the box design. Can somebody explain why they had to make the Falcon a TCW set? I am not confident to see him in the next season. Quote
KimT Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 This set is out of production since 2006 and costs 200$ at the moment. So? That's not far from the release price back then, at least not if you're living outside the US. Quote
The Penguin Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 From that box art the snail tank looks like you pull it back and it goes off by itself?. I don't think so, it (such mechanism) would have boosted the price greatly.... I guess they just wanted to show that the tank can easilly move forward. Perhaps, some unusually easy-to-go design? ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote

Raptor Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 The Venator is set for August? or maybe earlier? Quote
Oky Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I guess we may hope, gentlemen, that it's only the first set in a row of mid-scale starships! Imagine all those opportunities to make relatively-not-big starships! From CW to Civil War eras.... The kids will love to make space battles, and adults to see it on displays! ) I'd love to see some Confederate mid-scaqle starships! ) Hear, hear! From that box art the snail tank looks like you pull it back and it goes off by itself?. Yes, I noticed that too, and it quite puzzles me as well. However, the arrows don't indicate that you have to pull it back, so I don't think that it does have a pull-back motor (which would be a neat feature IMO and would rectify the high price). So, the Penguin might be right in saying that it could simply have a new design which makes it much easier to roll than the old snail tank (hence the lushness of the treads) so that it just keeps rolling after you give it a push. On the other hand, it doesn't look like you can seat a droid inside this time (which is more accurate and therefore good IMO), so the tank needs to have some play feature (besides rolling), or else the play value of this set would be pretty low. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Thanks for the new pics of the Falcon. I don't think I'll be too keen on getting this one. Quote

Isn't flick-fire missiles feature enough for you, Oky? ))))) Thanks for backing my ideas. ) Indeed, I guess, it's no more than that, since CA Tank droids had a habbit of row wave attacks, crushing everything in their path. ) Not much space to manouver. ) But the set is still great, thanks to it's nice color scheme too. ) Though, it could use some dark blue, in my opinion. ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Edited April 21, 2009 by The Penguin Quote
Asuka Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 It seems like they're trying to create a new niche here, and I don't know that there's room for it. Like they have said, it would be great for putting on your desk next to your computer. It is small enough where it doesn't take up a lot of room, but big enough that it has a lot of detail. This is a lot better than the old mini sets. I guess it´s just like SWMAN said, a set that´s probably and almost strange enough, designed towards A- and perhaps older TFOLs, something to put on the desk or some board that looks decent but not henpicking and not so 'juvenile' like the MF sets... So, execs and shy ones, here comes your long awaited chance to confess that you just love LEGO like we all do, huh? Quote
Legoman Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 (edited) Pictures fixed Sorry about the now broken links guys. I fixed it all up now. Klaus-Dieter Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 New pics of the falcon! Thanks to Clone Commander Assassin Thank you very much for the pic, legoman! Like already wrote earlier this version of the MF is deisgned absoletely perfect but doesn't interest me. It's not in minifig scale - so it is for me useless. Without wanting to hurt somebody but I did never understand people who buy not minifig scaled sets - and I still do not understand that. Imo that's really not worth the money. But that's my opinion. I disagree. The rumors were for this year, and it wouldn't make sence to release it next year, THIS year is the 10th anniversary - not next. It makes sence - it's the first ship in SW! I totally agree with you, legoman! We already had this rumor about a Tantive 4 last year - and when I'm right I remember one of our former admins (xwingyoda) told us last year that it actually is already designed. And now it's the tenth anniversary of Lego SW and the Tantive 4 is the first ship you can see in the OT and it's the counterpart to the already existing minifig-scaled ISD and there isn't yet a big OT vehicle this year. So if TLG doesn't release it this year then we supposably will firstly see it in 5 or 10 years - or very supposabley even nowhere. I mean: The CW/PT fans get two big vehicles this year (RSD and AT-OT) - so there really has to be a big OT vehicle, too! At least one thing is imo really clear: Since 10195 was released that early this year it's very supposably that we'll see another exclusive and not yet known (or at least not yet confirmed) SW set in summer/fall. maiq the liar Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 'Midi-scale'? It's the same size as a MIDI-Port or a MIDI-Format synthesized song? Quote

YG-49 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Good analogy. However, I don't agree with it. I feel like these new Ewoks have more detail and a little more life in them. The old ones were too plain. The one-color thing didn't really work. I meant the real life picture The Millenium Falcon pictures really shed-a-light Quote
TenorPenny Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Because some of us couldn't get it the first time, or found the massive one waaaayyy too expensive. Exactly! At this price, I shall certainly buy. I don't even *like* minifigs... Quote
RileyC Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I hope that the CIS tank droid is able to be pulled back and let go to move or what ever its called. Because over here in little New Zealand it will cost so much!! Quote

Darth Legolas Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I dont get what you just said. You want a pull back droid tank? With treads? Not a chance. Yeah I doubt it. But there's a major typo there. I think he meant he hopes that the Tank is not a pull-back, because it would cost so much. Anyways, people are arguing way to much about the droid in the seat of the Tank Droid. The Tank Droid was actually a droid to start with, and was a droid at the era of Clone Wars that the show, and this set take place in. In late Episode III, they realized it would be cheaper to make a hollow tank and have it piloted by droids. So this is 100% accurate. Way more than you'd think. Quote

I think it was the third Nintendo DS rendering in which that was featured. So blame the video game designers. Quote
