Legoman Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I REALLY like this Home One. It's brilliant. Yes, it's too small. But i will (try) to get at least two if i can - i want to fit an X-wing in there! I still hate the new midi MF. I think it's a peice of just. Heck, no figs, no spacial parts... I could probably build this from my spare parts! And the fact that its LE and SW, it'll be really expencive too I find it intresting. This set is one of the first sets where the communitty is split over... usually we all agree if it's good or bad, with the exeption of a few. Endor... Wow. I never seize to be amazed every time i look at it. Great set at a decent price. 12 figs (8 New) , AT-ST, Speeders, catapult, glider, bunker How long 'till more pics of hoth i wonder? I love that set too. Quote
darkrebellion Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 (edited) I really love this new Mon Calamari Cruiser set . In my opinion the TLC really overdone themselves with this masterpiece . The minifig selection is one of the best I have ever seen in a set of any theme. The A-wing is awesome in it Edited April 24, 2009 by darkrebellion Quote
The Who Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 New Pirate Tank article on the Star Wars Vault page. Click Here. Looks like a certian website is loving to give out new pics and set info... Quote
ILikePi Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I like how LEGO is starting to make exclusives for Walmart and Target, as well as TRU. That gives other a chance of getting the sets. Also, TRU is always overpriced... Thanks for finding the article booger540! I'll deeplink some pics for others... Coming exclusively to Target stores this August will be the all-new LEGO® Pirate Tank piloted by the Weequay pirates from the Clone Wars episode, "Dooku Captured"! The 372-piece set, which features pop-up pirate driver, firing flick missiles, and hidden wheels for repulsorlift movement, includes new pirate minifigures Hondo Ohnaka and Turk Falso as well as Obi-Wan Kenobi. LEGO Design Manager Jens Kronvold Frederiksen answered a few of our questions about the new Target-exclusive set, one of the first to be designed after a vehicle from the new series: The Pirate Tank is relatively new to the Star Wars galaxy. Do you find it easier designing a LEGO toy around a ship that is less familiar to fans than say, an X-wing? What makes design easy or difficult is more the general shape of the vehicle. But of course with the X-wing the fans know exactly how it looks, therefore it had to be accurate! Were there any specific challenges in designing this particular vehicle? The biggest challenge was that as the vehicle was brand new in the Star Wars universe, we did not have much reference in the beginning. But we got it in time, so we were able to make an accurate model. What play features were added to this vehicle that we perhaps didn't see in the Clone Wars episode? The idea of the pop-up pirate function was one we invented ourselves. We just thought that it could be cool. Since the Clone Wars has brought a whole fleet of new vehicles to the Star Wars galaxy, do you have a personal favorite you'd like to see get made in LEGO? I do not have a specific favorite. I like the Jedi starfighters, new Y-wings, Star-Destroyers, and Dooku's Solar Sailor. I think there are a LOT of cool vehicles in Clone Wars! The LEGO Clone Wars Pirate Tank will be available exclusively at Target stores beginning August 1, and don't miss Target's LEGO page here! Natman8000 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 (edited) Holy cow! The tank looks awesome! Wow! And black epulettes! The figs look great too. EDIT: I also see some new parts! And some recolors! Edited April 24, 2009 by Natman8000 Quote
The Who Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Thanks, I was going to ask somebody to deeplink the pictures, but forgot to. I'm really glad that I just happened to check the vault to see if there was any new info in there. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Gosh, that tank looks lovely. I still won't be getting it though. Hondo looks like an idiot too. I really love the tank though! Those lift up flaps may also mean cramped interior. Where else would the "pop-up" seat lead to? Quote
Millacol88 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I`m iffy on the pirate tank. I guess the design is ok, but, with me not being a fan of the CW, I don`t see an appeal. The only reason I would consider getting it would be for the cheap Obi fig, but I can live without that. Even if I wanted it, the OT stuff is gonna eat up most of my money this year. Quote
ILikePi Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 It looks great, and seems to be heavily greebled, unlike other ~400 piece sets. Does anyone know what the MSRP price is going to be? I'm betting on $50. Quote
RileyC Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 thats an awesome set!! I like the tank its got a great shape to it and the pirate minifigs are awesome! im really liking starwars.com spilling the beans on new sets  Quote
Holy Diver Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I'm so glad they got rid of the pirate with the peg-leg and cutlass. Overall, it's a nice, gritty looking set that I will gladly buy three of. Quote
hollisbrick Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 The priate tank is awsome! Better than I thought it would be The new figs are great! But will it be a Target Exclusive for the rest of the world as well? The mini MF is also better than I thought. Sure, no figs. But the design is nice A good parts pack as well I guess Quote

But the design is nice A good parts pack as well I guess I don't really like these exclusive sets. I guess they're good for the stores, but it makes getting them quite hard sometimes. Although there aren't really any targets near where I live (Canada) I can often find target exclusives at my local Zellers (non-Canadians won't know that store). Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Gee, the Mon Calamari set looks great but (I think this is the right price) $100 is a bit steep. Quote
darkrebellion Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 WOW!!!!!!! When the first pic of the Pirate Tank was released I really like it but now it looks ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!! Personally, I think this is one of the most beautiful designed sets in a while and I think everything looks so great. The piece count is great and the part selection magnificent , also the amount of details and greebling with such a reduced piece count is perfect. The minifigs are some of the most bizarre I have ever seen but I really like them . This set is surely at the top of my list with the Endor, Sep. Shuttle and Hoth sets. Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 The Pirate Tank looks really great! I thought it would turn out a bad set and I knew I probably wouldn't get it but those were the Preliminary pictures and now I can't wait to get it! Though Hondo looks really weird Quote
YG-49 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I was expecting Hondo to have a helmet with googles on it Quote
Skipper 24 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I love the new pirate minifigs and the build looks pretty solid too. Nice find. Quote
KimT Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 The Pirate Tank looks okay. The design is great, the minifigs are a little meh! the way I see it. Not much Star Wars about that set, except it was featured in the CW animated series. I'd rather they've done another set with a little more "bite" - anyways it looks good and I am definately getting it, despite the crappy figs. Quote
L-space Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 The design of the tank as such looks great. i have no idea wether or not it resembles the original, but on its own its really nice looking. Still the wrong era for me so I won't comment on the rest. However I think who ever is getting this has a first class ship. Quote

ForceMaster Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Good day, guys!) I will express the opinion and assumptions about the sets mentioned in interview from StarWars.Com : 7778 "Millenium Falcon" - nice but expensive. Very detailed model, star of any collector. But to pay for it 70$ in every possible way I refuse. 7754 "Home One" - greatest set! It was pleasant to me from the very beginning, and after pure pictures it is pleasant to me even more. Minifigures look pretty good. The hangar is made plausibly, with use of good details. I love mobile an armchair of the Admiral Ackbar, but how this to turn? Again a black stick? I hope "It's not a trap". 7753 "Pirate Tank" - Double feeling. On the one hand - it is somehow too aggressive, the original has smoother forms. But so too looks well. The same and with figures: in "The Gungan General" episode there were Jar-Jar and two unknown pirates. And here - Hondo with Turk Falso + Obi-Wan (Chuck Norris ) which can be met only in 7676. Set purchase, in the general result, depends on availability and the price. And I think that the next interview on a SW.com can tell to us about exclusive S@H accessible only on May, 3rd and 4) Quote
KimT Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Thanks You've put a smile on my face that'll last for a while I'll be updating the first post in this topic and the closed news topic one of the coming days. Seems like the brickfair pics can go now that we've got better pics. Also I'll be updating my brickshelf to contain all the new pics of these sets and all of the older pics that I've taken down from the first post. Thanks for sharing all your finds throughout the internet with us. Good job all Anyone ever gave any thoughts as to why we don't have a set numbered 7750? Quote
