ADHO15 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 The "Printed pieces" could just be marker pen or actually just bits of paper so people can get an idea of what it might look like I doubt it. Either way, you're agreeing the tank will feature printed pieces, regardless of whether the designs are preliminary or not. Quote
simonjedi Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 if there is any "control panel" type pieces then yes, I doubt any of the outer pieces are Quote
ADHO15 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 if there is any "control panel" type pieces then yes, I doubt any of the outer pieces are What do you mean? Why would they show it as having exterior printed pieces if the final model was not going to feature them? Also, we've pretty much established that it won't have an interior, so I doubt there'll be any 'control panel' pieces. Quote
YG-49 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 While we're on the CAD As you can see in this pic the Clone troopers jetpacks are not connected to the helmet. Something I didn't notice Goodbye... *The Hopeless.. Noticer?* Quote
Oky Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Good point, YG-49. I think the fact that the same pic that shows the tank droid having printing also shows the clone troopers wearing a new mold of a jetpack proves that it's the more final version. Why would they make a new mold, and then not use it? Besides, it wouldn't make sense for the set to have that catapult feature if the clones wouldn't have jetpacks. Now let's stop this silly debate and get back to the topic at hand: The Pirate Tank. Quote

Tinn-man Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Does anybody else think that Obi-wan has a new face? It looks a little different, mostly in the mouth. Quote
YG-49 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 + Bigger pupils I don't remember seeing Hondo in that scene either (And that episode was on 2 days ago) Quote
mania3 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Does anybody else think that Obi-wan has a new face? It looks a little different, mostly in the mouth. The Clone Wars figure's features have some slight differences from face to face. Namely, the direction of the eyes. It's kind of a cool thing with the clones themselves, really. I'm sure this will turn out to be the same Obi-Wan face as the differences are extremely minor like most Clone Wars figure discrepancies. Quote
Oky Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Oky, must you always be the voice of reason that makes everyone else's arguments look feeble and weak? Yup, pretty much. Does anybody else think that Obi-wan has a new face? It looks a little different, mostly in the mouth. No, I do not have a new face, thank you. Oh, wait, you meant Obi Wan! That's different. Yes, I had the impression that he is different too, but looking at your comparison, the only thing that seems to be different is that his mouth line is a little higher. Maybe there will be more such minor changes, just like there were on the Ahsoka from her starfighter. Quote
Darth_Legois Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Not sure if anyone notice [Couldn't be bothered going through 6 pages of spam] But does that guy [forgot name] have a new Dark Tan hair piece? I hope so.... Anyway the pirate tank looks meh. But I like home one. Quote

No wait, shes a girl. Me? I'm a droid. Ain't got no hair EDIT: sorry, posted it two times Edited April 26, 2009 by YG-49 Quote
Oky Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I think it's obvious that he means General Madine. And yes, I do believe his hair is dark tan, just like his cloths. Though this is not such a big deal to me. Quote
JimBee Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Maybe so, but the one you referred to was clearly older, ie. more preliminary. I mean, why would TLG make a preliminary box design with printed pieces and then get rid of them? Who knows? Maybe they wanted a smoother design? Does anybody else think that Obi-wan has a new face? It looks a little different, mostly in the mouth. Yes, I already said that. The beard seems less around the mouth, and the eyes seem bigger. Quote
KimT Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 I don't believe it. You guys are discussing the preliminary designs of the snail tank's box? That's already been discussed before and yes back then it also resulted in several pages of useless spam. Please do stay a little focused in this topic. We're discussing the rumors and sets to come. Really how important is it that Obi Wan no longer has an upper lip but has won a lower lip instead? Who cares that the machines printing the minifig heads might print a little askew now and then? "Stay on target!" and loose the need to spam this topic Quote

New moulds and printing would not be unnecessary and are extremely likely to be included in the set. + Bigger pupils I don't remember seeing Hondo in that scene either (And that episode was on 2 days ago) Sometimes, TLG adds loosely-related main characters in sets allowing collectors to own the figs. Hondo Ohnaka was included in this, probably because there aren't going to be any more Florrum-based sets and they wanted to include main characters in this one set. On the other hand, TLG also throws in completely irrelevant characters such as Commander Fox in the Homing Spider Droid and Palpatine in the Venator-class Star Destroyer. I don't believe it.You guys are discussing the preliminary designs of the snail tank's box? That's already been discussed before and yes back then it also resulted in several pages of useless spam. What are we supposed to 'discuss' here then? Good point, I was just a little tired of seeing this topic starting to move in circles discussing what we've discussed before. Of course this is meant for discussing news and sets. It's just that when we start discussing the print or non-print on the Snail Tank for the 7th time, then I get a little down I'd rather we discussed the Pirate Tank, Midi-scale MF & Home One since they're the newest revealed sets and the Snail Tank info hasn't been updated/renewed since Brickfair - so I don't see any need to revive that discussion before we get better pics of the set. Sounds fair? On top of that I haven't been that aggresive in this topic since I made the 'closed' news topic, in order to allow the discussion to be a little more 'free' than before, when I said "Stay On Target!" more than once per day Feel free to let me know if this is going to far.
