KimT Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 I saw that the other day but didn't post it because I thought we'd already seen it. Yeah we've seen those before. Also there were loads of great pics from the Toy Fair back in February. The links to some great photos are in the first post. Quote
JimBee Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Oh, sorry about that. It just looked more finalized to me, and I don't remember seeing it. "I'll be more careful" Quote
hollisbrick Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 If the MF is a Wal-mart exclusive, does that mean it wont come to countries such as, eg Australia? Quote
ILikePi Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 If the MF is a Wal-mart exclusive, does that mean it wont come to countries such as, eg Australia? Well, it might be available on LEGO S@H. Quote
pedro Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 What could be better than pirates? Space pirates! Yet another great looking set! Minifig selection is on par once again: Hondo and Turk look ace and it's nice to see other races from the Star Wars universe getting the LEGO treatment. Despite being somewhat Clone Wars-ified, these could double up as Weequay guards on Jabba's Sail Barge or Desert Skiffs. A new Obi available for less money is fine with me, even though Jar-Jar would have been a more obvious choice, we'll probably see him in another set at some point. The Pirate Tank looks like it means business and comes in great colours too. I think LEGO have done a pretty good job of creating this fairly complex vehicle. 'Pop-up pirate' function sounds fun - made me think of the classic kid's game which I'm sure isn't a coincidence As for what might be inside the hinged area at the rear... my guess would be a storage area for weapons or a brick built engine. Weequay MFs look great for sure... hmm, Weequays... I wonder if there´re some Bigquays out there too..? Quote
DarthSion Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 That's because they're unreleased.I just added the links for S@H prematurely. Fair enough. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 IMPERIAL Dropship? Bah, you have OT on your mind KimT! I apologize to the OT fans out there. I know the CW stinks like rotten bananas but it's my life. Quote

YG-49 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 If the MF is a Wal-mart exclusive, does that mean it wont come to countries such as, eg Australia? Well, the Fighter Tank was Wal-mart exclusive, wasn't it? it came to Target, Big W, Kmart etc. in Australia. (Or at least in QLD) Just like the Pirate Tank will probably end up in stores that aren't Target. Quote

My local Zellers (Kmart) had the Fighter Tank however. Quote
ADHO15 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 We don't have any of those exclusive shops like Walmart and Target in the UK, so pretty much all sets are available on Shop@Home. Even 'ToysRUs exclusives' can be bought off Shop@Home. Quote

alexrider7 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Hey, Just got my new Star Wars Insider and it has a section about the new lego sets. It also says something that might intrest you... Note: This is not about the Home One, Battle of Endor or Echo Base sets because they already mentioned those previously in the magazine. The LEGO company plans to reveal the identity of this new set-which undoubtedly will be as exciting and iconic as the rest of the line-In August, 2009 prior to its retail release in September. And what about the future? The LEGO Star Wars team wasn't giving away any clues but did concede they were aware that 2010 is the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. So who knows? Maybe there's another tauntaun comping our way! alexrider7 Quote

The Who Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I say Super Star DestroyerYou heard it here first Well, either you are first to be right or first to be wrong. What do you have to lose? Anyway, I'm more or less 'baffled' by this, and have no idea what it could be. But I do have a feeling it will be something to do with the OT....Most definitely something to do with The Empire Strikes Back.....Maybe a Hoth battle pack..... Quote
Millacol88 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I'm not sure what to make of this. Are they saying they will release an unannounced September set in August as a promotion? Quote
Tinn-man Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I'm not sure what to make of this. Are they saying they will release an unannounced September set in August as a promotion? I think they are saying that they will announce a new exclusive set in August that will be shipped in September, like the Death Star was released last year, or the UCS Millennium Falcon the year before. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I'm not sure what to make of this. Are they saying they will release an unannounced September set in August as a promotion? No, I believe you've got it backwards. Read carefully, and it says they will announce a new set in August that will then be released in September. This news certainly connects to a blurb on the LEGO page that you can get to off of the Chrome DVs that says they have a few more things they can't tell us about too. Personally, I have no guesses as to what it might be. In my best dreams, I wish it would be a detailed set in the $50 range (which means $60 these days), with some nice exclusive figs. While another set on Death Star levels would be nice, it is really out of the price range of a whole lot of people (like me), and so a detailed but much smaller set would be really great to commemorate something because then everyone could get it (or many ore people anyway). Just the thoughts of someone with a very limited budget. For now, I'm really hoping it's not a star destroyer, it would be better if it was a playset, for me anyway. Quote
enigmapc Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 (edited) All I have to say is a UCS AT-AT for the ESB 30 year anniversary will be perfect. The good news is there is a high probability of something incredible heading our way. You can't go wrong with Episode V. Edited April 29, 2009 by enigmapc Quote

I'm thinking UCS millenium falcon style. Plus minifigs! Quote
ILikePi Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I, like Clone O'Patra, hope that this "unannounced" set will be a set within the $50 price range. If it's not, then I will not able to afford it, and so will many other people who already want to get many sets this year. Well, looks like we'll have to wait and see! Quote
commdr_neyo Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 it would be cool if it's a Hoth hangar or a big echo base Quote
