Seijitai Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) It turns out this set was from japan but it was a picture from a BL seller from Belgium, Namur who had it imported! He he, it's me ! Like I said on page 237, I was quite lucky to get my hands on this I'm busy this week-end, but I'll try to post a review as soon as possible... While waiting, check this two pics : The new rebel commandos helmet is fantastic ! I'm just a little bit disappointed that the backpack is simply brick built. The ewoks face details are quite good, but the hood looks like a bit "empty". The tan Ewok is of course the old model, but painted... To answer another question, bags numbered "1" contains the pieces for the speeder bikes, catapult, flying thing... Bags numbered "2" is for the AT-ST and "3" for the bunker. YG-49 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) Those helmets are great!!! (Nice job on the paint with the old Ewok) I don't like that the new Ewok's hoods are shorter and sleeker. The old ones look more ruffled. I mean, come on! They're sewed by tiny little hairy creatures that probably have four fingers! EDIT: Post a review, *In a Darth Vader voice* NOW! Goodbye... *The old Ewok back-upperer* Edited May 9, 2009 by YG-49 Quote
baby Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 So, it's confirmed that we will get RBR. Hopefully there will be a bunch of minifigs in it. Maybe they will include features like escape pod escape thing. Quote

Bobskink Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Nice to see the new Ewok next to a painted old Ewok. The old ones defenaitly look better and more like the Ewoks from the movies. I don't really understand why they made a new mold when they had sush a good one, but I presume it's because the old mold is to dificult to paint. Quote

Yeah, the old mold looks more accurate and cute Yeah, I said cute, whats wrong with a guy saying cute? Anyways, I bet your right about the new one being easier to paint. Quote
Pirate Pete Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I haven't been interested in Lego long enough to get the old Ewoks. These Ewoks will be in my collection, even if they aren't as good as the old ones! Quote
smokebelch Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Not digging the 'backpacks' on the endor rebels, but at least they have a back-printed torso, so will prob just have them without their packs Quote

Either that or I will paint the old "Adventurers" backpack camo. Quote
Tyrant Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I like the new Ewoks. I have a number of the old ones and while they are more detailed, these aren't monochromatic. The fact I can't paint tiny details that great (and I am not sure what kind of paint to use) means my old Ewoks won't be painted. But I do understand some people prefer details. I am just glad we have painted Ewoks now. The Rebels look pretty good too. The helmets look nice as well. I agree with the previous poster who said they could easily make decent WWII (or possibly Vietnam era) American soldiers. It's probably as close as we are likely to see. Overall I can't wait to get this set. So far, it's the only high end ($100 and up) Star Wars set I am really interested in this year. Don't get me wrong, the others are nice, but this one I really want. Quote
-JD- Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Now I crave a Endor Rebels battle pack! Thanks for those pictures guys! Quote

That was me, and I almost forgot about Vietnam. Now I crave a Endor Rebels battle pack! Thanks for those pictures guys! Don't forget that where there are Endor Rebels, there need to be Scout Troopers! (and more native species) Edited May 9, 2009 by booger540 Quote

I am just glad we have painted Ewoks now. I agree with you. I had the luck to have a german customizer, Rurisk, to paint me a few of my old ewoks (4 - tan, brown, light bley and black), along other minifigs, but I'm not good at painting myself (picasso syndrome ). So for people without painting skills, they definitely worth the price of the set ! Quote

RoflWafls Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I don't know about you guys, but the Tantive set is like a dream come true for me. I remember seeing that seen for the first time as a kid and that scene has never left my mind. I just can't wait. Also, I can think of some really great play features like an exploding (Yeah, let your kids play with THAT ) door for the stroomtroopers to come in or an escape pod for R2 and C-3PO. Hmm... What else could they have....... Quote
Millacol88 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I too am excited for it. I missed out on the UCS so this is a must-have for me. Quote

Legoman Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Yeah, I said cute, whats wrong with a guy saying cute? Oh please, Don't get me started Man, I'm finding it such a hard wait for pics of the RBR. C'mon, hurry up! Endor is looking nice still, and i might meed to try painting some spare ewoks... That one looked great Quote

I'm just wondering, do you guys think they'll be an interior for it? It probaly will, but Lego might screw us. Quote

It probaly will, but Lego might screw us. I'm pretty sure it will. My guess is that is will me minifig scale (i don't mean to scale with minifigs, i mean a set FOR minifigs, similar to all the other downsized ships like the star destroyer), have an interior, and it will be a decent size with a fair amount of figs. Hopefully Quote

RoflWafls Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Sorry about the double post, but I found a scan of the chinese booklet that has the box of Tantive! And the box is absolutly great! Link to catalouge pics Ok, did you look? Are you pissed? Yeah, I think it's safe to say Lego doesn't have a design for it yet, but we know it will be coming out! Quote
Natman8000 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 For 250, the Tantive IV cant be too downscaled like the new ISD. I think it will be an USC with minifigs like the MF, just not as big. Quote
