Skipper 24 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 They don't appear on UK S@H. I need those sets! Ahem Quote
-JD- Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I swear they did not show up five minutes ago! Maybe it's my computer. Thanks Skipper! Quote
ILikePi Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 This must mean that they'll start appearing soon... They're not on the U.S. S@H, though. Quote
Ras 74 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 What on earth would the arrest of Palatine be, Palatine, Anakin Mace and a chair? This made my evening. So is there something said there will be a special set for 2010 for the 30 anivercery of ESB? I must totally missed this somewhere. Quote

Millacol88 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I think only that 'clouded in mystery' phrase. Which I think loosely confirms a cloud city set. Its the 30th anniversary of ESB and I think that phrase is a dead giveaway for a cloud city set. Quote
Ras 74 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Would be so sweet to have a better new CC. I like hollisbrick idea kind of, if a playset like the CC was 3 or 4 pieces. Eighter you buy them all, or you can choose your favorites. I ones had this idea of a Death Star. We know by now that this never came along. But I would also like a CC in the same size, amount of mini-figs and price of the DS. Quote

I like your idea of it being the same size and amount of minifigs as the death star but i found that it was way too expensive in New Zealand. You get get a lot of smaller sets with exclusive minifigs and great ships for that price Quote
DarthSion Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Oh man, not more OT stuff, but then who knows, i mean this year is 10 years since TPM and they didnt do anything. Quote
Millacol88 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Oh man, not more OT stuff, but then who knows, i mean this year is 10 years since TPM and they didnt do anything. Your kidding, right? Are you really complaining that TLC is putting out more OT sets now? We put up with the CW crap for a year and a half, with very little OT, and now your complaining that they're finally showing they haven't forgotten about the people who collect OT stuff? Quote
DarthSion Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Yeah, OT stuff is boring and lame, Its time for new stuff, like more EU stuff, some new moulds new sets and stuff, CW is getting too much as well, but it unlike OT at least gives us new stuff. Quote

Im starting to like the clone wars sets. I dont mind about the minifigs faces because they are meant to be that way and the ships i think are getting better. Quote

I dont mind about the minifigs faces because they are meant to be that way and the ships i think are getting better. I think that the Pirate Tank is going to be one of the best looking CW sets so far. It's going to be the first one over $10 that I'll get (and possibly the Venator). Quote

Oh be careful mate 1. I think you're pritty alone on that thought 2. A lot of the members here are very defencive when it comes to OT (including me ) 3. The way you put that seemed very "I'm right you're not. So get over it." And since this is a nice little community, it'd be nice if you said something more like Imo, OT stuff is boring and lame, Its time for new stuff, like more EU stuff, some new moulds new sets and stuff, CW is getting too much as well, but it unlike OT at least gives us new stuff. But that just my opinion... Quote
DarthSion Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 It is though, i mean lets go to the first page yeah. AT-OT with dropship, new. Snail tank, new. Echo base, a few new things. Pirate tank, new. Home One, A-wing, old and some new stuff. MF, old and done to death, the 4th one is it not. Leave the minis. Sep' shuttle, new. Y-Wing, old. Endor bunker, a few new things, and what 10th AT-ST. Venator, new. If its true, RBR, old. See what i mean, yeah there's tons of CW stuff lately, but at least most of it is new, all the OT is old remakes. Not 1 single all new stuff for any of the OT, its all old lame and boring. Quote

Not 1 single all new stuff for any of the OT, its all old lame and boring. They remake stuff to make it better. Besides, the Hoth base, MF, RBR, Endor AND home-one, are actully not even remakes. Home-one gives us a nice green A-wing, admittably not new, but the rest of the set is completely a new idea all-together. Hoth has a Tauntaun. What more can i say than . I've already brought two and it only came out a few days ago here! The MF is new Midi scale (don't get me wrong, i hate it, but it IS new ) Endor - the main part of the set, the bunker, is new, and the rest, who care? It's awsome! RBR, well that was only ever made in UCS, so a system RBR is awsome. Just face it, there are still a lot of people that like OT, wether it be remakes or new, we like it, be buy it. It's the way the world works. You like CW/EU? OK, that's fine. Just don't force it on the rest of us. Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I though the sets are now out across Europe? They appear to be on Shop@home anyway. They are in S@H, yes, but not avaible to my country. Quote
DarthSion Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Ah they are all remakes, changing the colour or size doesn't make it new if its the same thing, which is the problem, you OT fans are happy for remakes and remakes of remakes so lego just don't put the effort into new stuff. Actually i like all star wars, but the OT sets are just remakes with a few new parts, or colours, or size. I'm not forcing it (but if i was i would win, after all netball is the only thing Kiwis can beat us at ), I'm just saying Lego needs to be held to a higher standard, and buying remakes doesn't help. Quote
ILikePi Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Well, I don't mind the remakes, as I've only started collecting LEGO stuff since 2006-2007. That means that I haven't been around to buy any of the old sets. Quote
Legoman Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 (but if i was i would win, after all netball is the only thing Kiwis can beat us at ) Don't even get me started here Quote
DarthSion Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Don't even get me started here I cant vote because i'm still classified as a Kiwi. But seriously, dont you wish they would make all new OT sets, a for real Mon Calamari cruiser, Executor-class Star Dreadnought, GR-75 medium transport or a EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate all from episode 5. Quote

But do we all want huge ships like those that are really expensive and take up lots of space? I know I don't. I prefer what TLG has done by picking out the main play features of Home One and putting them in a smaller cheaper playset. As for your petty squabbles about OT vs PT, they belong here. About the availability of sets on Shop@Home, they belong here, but I've already posted it's current status. Sorry to act like a mod, but I'm getting a bit tired of all these off-topic conversations. Quote
Ras 74 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I think that this year has been very good for both OT and CW. The OT has been minimized in the number of sets the last years. So this year is a great comback for those sets that many of us like. No one is forcing you to buy any sets if you are not happy with them. CW will also be around for a few more years, and we will be getting plenty of sets from that. Everybody should be able to state their view or mind, but dont argue about it,it will lead nowhere! Quote
