The Who Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I really hope the chrome is either a very durable coating or just a thick coat, and that it does not come off easily. ...same quality as C-2PO and Vader. Might want to edit that. Quote
JimBee Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Sure, the others may be expensive on the re-sale market, but that is because of rarity, not quality. This magnet we are actually paying for. The other chromes are freebies from Lego. I'm willing to bet that they use the same chroming process for this Stormie as they do the others, but I would figure that they would have higher quality for a product that they are actually charging for. Exactly. They may be "free" from Lego, but they are very limited, and are probably better in quality than the Stormie. Since the chrome stormtrooper is selling everywhere in Lego stores for only 12 USD, I don't expect it to be as good as the others in quality. It's nothing bad or serious, and it's quite a nice thing from TLG. Might want to edit that. Does this lower my nerd level? Quote

He said that the chrome stormtroopers are probably higher quality, not the free chrome figures. Quote
DarthSion Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Ok so i guess the pens i posted were not new as one one has said anything. Those worrying about chrome coming off, why not just leave them in the wrapping, or buy 2, one to play one for safe keeping, the chrome isn't coming off my Vader, but its sealed in the bag for safe keeping. alexrider7 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 What is the 7 for?In my name it is the year I was born. It can´t possibly be that in your case I was off for 2 days and this topic got a heck of a lot of posts. I'm still scrolling down to see all the reviews and sets that we have gotton. As for the 7, it wouldn't let me put alexrider as my name, so I just had to put my favorite number. Sorry for the off-topic-ness. And I'm afraid my wallet's money has been all but drained. I started a project a few months ago to get every lego game made on at least one console. I finished with about $10. And if you live in America, you know thats not going to get you far. Looks like I won't be buying any Lego Star Wars sets until my next paycheck. alexrider7 Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Don´t know if this goes as a set, but... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/NavyTroo...ds-news/ids.jpg Luke seems to be Yavin IV Version. Quote
The Rancor Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Don´t know if this goes as a set, but...Luke seems to be Yavin IV Version. Thanks for that update NT Fenson - I was hoping the book would come with that minifigure. I can't wait for that book to become available, and I hope it's not too much Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) Don´t know if this goes as a set, but... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/NavyTroo...ds-news/ids.jpg Luke seems to be Yavin IV Version. Thank you very much for that awesome news, Navy Trooper Fenson! We already have got a pic of the Visual Dictionary since long - but I think that everybody thought that it'll be only in English. But it's even in German! The Luke minifigure looks really - to make it Yavin 4 was a great idea! Hopefully we'll then see a Yavin Base in the next years, too, with an awesome Princess Leia minifigure in Yavin 4 style ! I can't wait for that book to become available, and I hope it's not too much I actually regrettably fear that it will be quite expensive, The Rancor! Surely minimum that expensive than the Collector's Guide - but supposably even more expensive since firstly it's "only" about SW (which means license costs) and secondly because that exclusive Luke minifigure is included. So I don't know whether I'll be aible to afford this one! I'm not that much interested in the visual dictionary - but I want that exclusive minifigure! This year really lets explode my wallet with its so many awesome SW OT and City sets! And next year will surely be as good - and even as expensive - as this year! Navy Trooper Fenson Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I searched a little bit on Amazon.de and found out that the german version of the book is already available for preorder (30. September) and costs only 14,95€. The english cost on Amazon.de between 16,21 and 20,99€ and will be released on first and fifth October. German Amazon link: http://www.amazon.de/LEGO-Star-Wars-Figure...2890&sr=1-1 Quote
Skipper 24 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Thanks for the book cover pic . This exclusive Luke fig seems to be the ceremony one as seen before eon the prelim cover art. It's good that it is no longer BD DV on the cover now. Quote
-JD- Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I like the look of the Luke minifigure. A good choice by LEGO. It does make one wonder whether there will be a set with a figure like this... Quote

So I'll very supposably buy this book. I found a more precise description of the book here (regrettably only in German). I like the look of the Luke minifigure. A good choice by LEGO. It does make one wonder whether there will be a set with a figure like this... I totally agree with you, Jammiedodger714! Well, do you think it might be that the Tantive 4 comes with a very small command center of Javin 4 and perhaps even with Javin 4 Han and Leia minifigures? I don't think so. But I really hope that we'll see a Javin 4 Base in the next years! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Derek Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I know that the Chrome Storm Trooper is awesome and everything, and I am by no means complaining about anything but you are all acting like $13 is such a fantastic bargain for a figure and a magnet. When you think about how much it costs Lego to make it (probably less than a two or three dollars, if that...) and you look at how much of it is going into their pockets, its a terrible value. I am honestly beginning to worry about what lengths Lego fans will go to for chromed pieces... Quote
KimT Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 Don´t know if this goes as a set, but...Luke seems to be Yavin IV Version. Are you nuts? Thanks for finding this. Great news finally getting a Luke in a Yavin outfit. So this is why Luke has been absent this year Quote
Matn Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Hey, that would be perfect for a purist LEGO Xenophilius Lovegood figure. Quote
The Who Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Really like the look of the new Luke, but I might have to buy a few extra. So this is why Luke has been absent this year If I told you it was because several sets this year involve Anakin, and that just would not be right, that would make me look like a nerd, so I just won't tell you. That would also be a reminder of Short Round and Mutt standing beside each other in the same episode in a certain 'Invasion' entry. Nerdiness off. Quote
Steff Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Its the year of the exclusive Star-Wars- Minifigs: a Chrome Darth Vader, a Chrome Stormtrooper and a new Luke. I am looking forward for the new Minifig in the Tantive IV-Set. Quote

KimT Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 yep, but I thought they would have a US vrsion. ? What? Who would have a US version of what? The link is for amazon.com where you can find the US version. I am sure that a search on the German version of amazon would result in a German version of the book. What are you asking? Quote

Mendoza007 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Man I really have to get it, will it be in Holland/Europe too? And the price? Luke + Yavin 4 + Lego = AWESOME Quote
Gnewal Gwevus Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Well Lok Durd might be a mini figure... I highly doubt it, but on that subject, why have Fox get a minifigure, but not Bly? Fox says one thing, and Bly is a near main character in Jedi Crash and Defenders of Peace! First off, Loathsome is dead. He also was was known for about 5 minutes before he died, unlike Farrwho's been known about for longer. And possible Loathsome is more important, but they won't make anything of a dead man, plus if it's going to have a Greedo head, Whorm Loathsome is the farthest thing from a Rodian, In fact, so few people even know who Loathsome is! LOATHSOME IS NOT DEAD!! Obi-Wan took him to prison on Coruscant. what else would he do, he's not Anakin, who would. But yeah it is Farr in the shuttle, I have it! Quote
