Ya, this thing is related to the Republic in some way (check the Republic insignia and phase II clone trooper). I bet it's some kind of 'mashup' like last year, rather than an actual new set.

Posted

Good find, CaptainRex110.

The clone is definitely a Phase 2 trooper and the bendu is also one of the Republic. I wonder what this set could be.

Looks like we're getting another fine set at the next San Diego Comic Con.

Hopefully someone will get it and make a review for us.

Now all we need are some resized pics.

Otherwise I'll get them tomorrow when the folder is public and resize them.

Whoops, though it was an imperial insignia. Phase two clones is still pretty cool though. I wish we saw more of those in actual sets. I believe the last were shock troopers in the AT-AP, and that was first wave 2008. :sceptic:

It would be nice if we start seeing more sets with phase 2 clones. We have had too many phase 1 clones lately and nothing else in prequel sets. Im just hoping that next year we get more epIII and epI sets.

I bet it is a few of the new Republic mini's in one set (AT-TE, RGS, maybe V-19) that is surely going to be overpriced...

As it was like last year, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a new set....

Yeah, sorry, i don't know how to resize pics.

Here ill add them on for you CaptainRex110.

Aah, thank you. I'm going to guess that this is just like the other ComiCon set, which is just a mixture of a few older sets, maybe one Brickmaster exclusive set like the one in the Indy Jones package, and a few Clone troopers.

I don't think the Pshase II helmet means anything at all. It's definitely Republic from the looks of the box, but the reason they used a Phase II helmet was probably just because it was more Iconic then the Phase I.

What's wrong with you guys? Max told you to keep it a secret

Whatever this set is, I wager it will not have much brand new content, but I do want Phase II troopers (even though I bought about 10-15 battlepacks of Phase II in 2007)

I agree. As much as I'd like to see Phase-2 clones return, it will probably just end up being a collection of this Brickmaster exclusives or something, and we're looking too far into it.

Cool, does this means EP III set coming back soon?

You know as well as the rest of us. We'll just have to wait and see.

It says SDCC09 on the box. What could that mean? Super Destroying Coarse Comedian 2009? Special Snakes Come Courageousely 2009?

How about, just a crazy thought, San Diego Comic Con 2009?!

Where did you did those crazy words from? I doubt it would EVER be that! It's most likely Stormtrooper Delay Causes Corruption (in) 2009!

I would think they'd HAVE to pause on the Clone Wars stuff soon. They've done a set now for virtually EVERY single Clone Wars vehicle that was featured prominently in season 1 and the movie. Heck, even insignificant vehicles like the Pirate Tank have been done! Adding EPI-VI stuff to the mix seems like it'd be a necessity at this point.

Thanks for the resized pics

CaptainRex110 - you can follow the link in my signature to the tutorials on how to resize and stuff like that.

No sweat :classic:

I wouldn't have thought they'd switch back yet. The Clone Wars is still quite big, and the new series will be out in Autumn. The CIS Tri-droid, for example, hasn't been done yet, and I know that's a set widely wanted by Clone Wars fans. :classic:

Also, just because we've seen one picture of a Phase-2 clone on, doesn't mean TLG is switching back. It may not even be relevant to the exclusive itself, or if it is, it may just be a single exception.

I assume this topic will close soon because the 2009 sets have been released everywhere (I think) and there is pretty much nothing to discuss except the RBR which will probably be released in 2010.

Posted

As soon as we have any rumors on the next season/wave of sets, I'll make a 2010 topic on them.

Until then this one stays alive.

Good enough?
