I have never seen Lego bring out any minifigs that were not in the scene originally.

Try Mace in the CTT Clone Turbo Tank

Han in the new hoth set annoyed me TBH. I'd rather have an extra Rebel. I've now got a bunch load of han's i have no idea what to to with. :hmpf_bad:

Exactly, but that's not when the LEGO set is set. There were no Snowtroopers attacking then.

SWMAN was just pointing out that TLG doesn't always stick to what's correct if it means a good money-making opportunity.

Look at Commander Fox in the Homing Spider droid set!

And i was just saying yes to the post before me, i know whats being said, its the same thing i said a few pages back, ie the tie crawler which hasn't been in anything, maybe a comic.

The Visual Dictionary is up for grabs at SDCC!

Sorry if you all knew already.

Greetings,

JD

EDIT: Oh you know. Whoops.

I hope this isn't replacing the exclusive set we usually get at Comic-Con. :sceptic:

I don't see why it would. Lego will still want to have a set to sell at their booth, after all.

Well i guess this means we only have a few weeks to wait to see the Blockade Runner then as it must be in the book.

EDIT: Oh you know. Whoops.

But the Visual Dictionary *ISN'T* "up for grabs" at SDCC. In fact, the description purposefully notes that it won't be available until October 10th, and even those who win the book in the show's contest won't get it until October 10th.

"Thursday, July 23

1:30 - 2:30 PM: LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary (Room 8)

Ten years ago in a galaxy not far away LEGO and Star Wars came together! Find out how such an amazing partnership was formed from Jonathan Rinzler (Executive Editor, Lucasfilm) and Rob Johnson (Art Director, The LEGO Group), while Simon Beecroft (Author and Publishing Manager, DK Publishing) doles out all sorts of information on the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary. Collectors and fans won't want to miss the unveiling of the exclusive LEGO Star Wars minifigure that will be released with the book on October 10, 2009. The first 50 attendees will receive DK swag and be entered to win a LEGO Star Wars set and a free copy of LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary upon its release."

Am I missing something here?

Not necessarily, the book will of course only have sets up until a certain point, and if the set hadn't been made yet, or was only a prelim, I very much doubt it would have been included, and it's unlikely they'd go back and add it in, once everything was finalised.

Of corse it won't. We've already seen the SDCC Exclusive set, check out the first post.

Why would they pull a set they've already made?

Whoopsie-doodle. I forgot about that. Carry on, nothing to see here, and it's definitely not terrorism!

I'm pretty sure we have yet to see inside the box, unless I'm sadly mistaken and majorly missed something.

I wonder what it is anyway...

Why does the exclusive Luke figure have Han Solo pants?

Because it looks good. We are already getting a new torso print, I wouldn't get too picky...

Where does it say the book is up for grabs? The paragraph I'm reading says a panel will present information on the book, and reveal the minifig.

EDIT: MaxGoof beat me to it.

That's a better comparison to the Echo Base set. Thanks, Pi. Both happened in sort of the same place, at sort of the same time, so it's easy for TLG to fool some less-hardcore SW fans to make good selling opportunities.

Fox, however, has never been seen anywhere near a spider droid!

Obi Wan WAS in the same place at the same time when the Pirate Tank was seen. That's no misplacement. Maybe he never fought it though... but still! A Jar0Jar might have been better, but Obi Wan definitely was there.

And about Fox and the Spider Droid, it's true we've never SEEN him with a Spider Droid, but Lego was able to jack the price up to ten extra dollars with a coveted minifigure of Fox, and being a Clone Commander you can just assume he was around one at some point!

And maybe the TIE Crawler was never seen outside of comics! So what? It's still a nice set if you want turillions of tank treads!

Lego can put stuff anywhere they want. Han can be in the defense of Echo Base, but of course there is no Echo Base in that set is there? People'll still buy it. The only thing Lego could possibly do wrong would be to put a Clone in the middle of Endor!

Some of the new sets are out in Australian shops, so im guessing most other countries should have them out.

That should be in "Star Wars Sets Anyone?" Oh, and are they selling that book at the SDCC, or do we have to wait till October 10th? Someone said they were selling them early to just the event-goers.

No it shouldn't, i just didn't quote the poster above me, he was asking if anyone had seen the new sets, i simply said some are out in Australia.

The other guy should have posted in the availability section of the Star Wars forum, so he is at fault there. But, instead of answering him, you should have kindly pointed him to the correct forum. By answering him, you are encouraging him and others to post questions about availability in the wrong area. Just a friendly reminder.

I would like that.....................But no, they aren't, they aren't available until October, even if you win one.

Also, does anyone think that they might have the Tantive IV at SDCC?

I think they might show it but we thought they would show it at Brick World so I cant be sure. Does anybody know if lego normally debuts sets at SDCC?
