Does anybody know if lego normally debuts sets at SDCC?

What exactly do you mean? Last year, Saturday was the debut of the Clone Wars line and they showed off all of that stuff in addition to all of the others (at the time) recent sets. I am expecting that this year they will have all of the January and August wave there at least.

Please "Stay on target" as KimT might say.

This topic is for rumours about future releases - not about availability or which set you would like to see.

These have separate topics.

Thanks for your coöperation.

@ CaptainRex110: You asked if the Tantive IV might be at SDCC. Judging from last year, I'd say not. What was the SDCC Star Wars special last year? It was this, a combination of a ten dollar set and a twenty dollar set, plus four extra minifigures. So unless they make the Tantive IV midi-scale which would be quite disappointing and just have the figures on the side with nowhere to go(like the X-Wing that came with Luke, Wedge, and the other Hoth figs) I don't see it making it there, and frankly I'd rather have the Tantive IV as an actual set with playability inside the ship rather than a rushed exclusive.

I don't know if this has been posted but here it is:

The interesting bit of the video is that it has boxes for the 2010 battlepacks and it looks like OT hoth.

From the small picture it looks like the rebels are getting a pilot in box.

thanks to wiiwhitey from rebelscum for the find.

While it is hard to tell, you might be right. However, it could just be a current set we have that is obscured due to the focus of the camera. Either way, that was a very interesting video. While I am still disappointed with how the Mon Cal Cruiser came out, it was nice to see how the models get designed. Too bad we didn't get a peek into 2010.

It's not a current set, because it has the 2010 packaging, this year's BP are next to it, and i'm not sure any of the summer releases have small BP sized boxes.

Looks legit to me; too bad when they focused on the guy talking the camera was tilted the other way. :sadnew:

One of the boxes does seem to have a snowy background, though I can't really make out what the other one is.

Somebody strikes this ?

A new set? Bigger than the Venator!

It's not the Laat, maybe Tantive V?

Edit: Picture shows the old Republic Gunship

--> awesome too:)

Those boxes are perfectly legit. It's the new Clone Wars label, so no other boxes look like that, but you can tell it's still OT. The new Midi Falcon also comes in a Clone Wars box, so it's not that big of a deal.

We have just stumbled upon 2010!

Yes. After looking at them again I realized that they are in the new packaging. Hopefully they are 2010. I wonder if they did that intentionally or by accident...

Sorry, I just tried and it's horrendously blurry. :cry_sad:

Same. :sceptic:

However, I am excited that we're going to get OT battle packs next year!

I can't wait to see what type they are (Hoth, Endor, etc). :classic:

from this movie:

I got this Screenshot

2010bp.jpg

It looks like:

Rebels

1 rebel pilot

3 rebel troopers

a vehicle that looks a bit like the 2007 bp

Imperials

3 or 4 snowtroopers

hoth speederbike

I have to say, the box on the left seems to have droids featured on it in some speeder. There appear to be five figures on the left box, which add to that suspicion, since the only time Lego has given us five figures in a battle pack is when they are droids. That leads me to believe that the battle packs have to do with the Clone Wars again. Much to the chagrin of OT fans. :cry_sad:

Hmmmm...

I'm confused, but all the evidence is right there. That wall has one of every set on it. I'm thinking prehaps they're unreleased sets? (as in, was designed but they decided not to release them.)

It just seems strange that those sets are all ready to go, in July 2009.... Odd. I'm not suspisious, i just want more info. It doesn't make sence.

I'm not sure what they look like though. I'm hoping for hoth, but the figs are too dark for hoth rebels or snowies....

Wow thanks forthright picture but it's so hard to make out. My first guess was that the one on the right were droids and on the left it is the clone wars snowtroopers. But as I tried to look beyond the blur I notice that the minifigs on the left, their heads don't seem like the usual cylinder. I now see possible they could be mon calamari minifigs. In the other battle pack, it's a lot blurrier compared to the other one. I think there is some sort of destroyed building with a turret inside it. As for the minifigs we don't really get to see any. There's only that big white blob which could make sense if it was hoth and it could turn out to be a wampa. But the photo is up to interpretation and I might be seeing what I want to see.

Great find!

If you go to that link, and pause at like, 15 seconds in, in the top right corner you can see two sets that I have never seen before. Looks to be some sort of Hoth battlepack.

If you've already seen this before (I'll have to cry about it) You can just delete this topic.

Oh, and its a pretty cool video anyway.

Might as well delete this then.

Not necessarily, We are about half way through July, and August is about the time we get rumors of the next year. (I think) I for one have already seen that video, but yes, I agree it is probably a battlepack. But I doubt it's a hoth battle pack, they have no reason to make a Hoth battlepack, but I still hope it is. Especially if it's Imperial, however, it is a Clone Wars box, so I just don't know. Gosh, it's fun to speculate. And besides, why delete this topic, when someone else would just create another in a little bit when the first leaked image comes out. Plus, some people haven't seen this video, and now they will, because it's not burried in the '09 one.
