Huh?

Rebels

Aliens

Clones

Jedi

Separatist

Droids

Imperials

Bounty Hunters

What's confusing about that?

Darth Maul's no Imperial and Senate Commandos aren't clones, etc. :classic:

what they did last time was put two sets in the same box and put a poster in, could be the same this time round.

Are we talking about the Brickmaster one? Or another set that we don't know about yet? Becasue the brickmaster one probable won't be very big, I mean, it's Brickmaster. Look at the Indy one from last year.

Sets that have minifigs are often called "minifigure scale." They are not. They contain minifigs, but are not necessarily built to scale with them. Sets that are scaled properly to minifigures are "minifigure scale."

Actually the original name for the sets that contained minifigs was System, after a conversation Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, had with the owner of a toy distribution company (from Norway I think) whilst making a ferry crossing on the Baltic Sea. The toy importer said that what the LEGO bricks lacked was a system of play, and from this Godtfred conceived the first town sets. As the sets evolved to include minfigs they kept the label of System, and eventually became known as System-scale within the community.

Can people please stop thinking the BPs are CW? They are ESB, but it is sad we won't get those awesome clone designs. :sceptic:

Unless you personally picked up one of those sets and looked it over, with good eyesight, and recognized them to be ESB, then you don't know that's what episode they are from. Period.

So unless you are willing to give some high resolution proof they are ESB, then please do not assume things and get mad at others for doing the exact same. :classic:

Well a certain LEGO Store that I work at got the "Display Box" for the RBR today and I can confirm it will have minfigures but cannot say anything more. The good news about this is that the release date might be sooner than we thought since at least one LEGO Store has an empty display box.

Thank you very much for this information, einsteinonthebeach! :classic:

I think that if TLG reveals the RBR Saturday or Sunday next week at ComiCon then there'll be the date for pre-ordering the RBR perhaps on August 1 and it'll be shipped in the middle of September. What do you think?

Btw: Does someone think that we'll get - apart from the two BPs which very supposably will be OT - a medium sized set for around 40-70 Euros/Dollars in the first wave of 2010? Perhaps a redesign of the Twin Pod Cloud Car? Or of the Slace 1? Or do you think that all the other ESB sets will then firstly be released in summer?

I think this kind of speculation belongs more in the Future Star Wars sets thread, but if they make a Twin Pod Cloud Car for 40-70 Euros or dollars that would be nuts! Or it would be UCS, which would be an odd choice for a UCS. I also am not sure why everyone is under the impression that there will be a wave of ESB sets. When it was thirty years since Star Wars came out, all they did was slap a "30 Years" logo on the boxes. They didn't release a whole lot of ANH sets. I'm really not convinced there will be much of a blip in the SW 2010 lineup because of the anniversary.

I guess I should have taken a closer look. OK, how about Republic Forces (instead of Clone Troopers) and Sith & Imperials (rather than just Imperials)?

LEGOscum, I think you just jumped to conclusions on the first line of my comment instead of reading the whole thing. I didn't just say "I think these cards make next to no sense," I said: "I think it's funny how some of thee cards make next to no sense. I guess they all sort of have an idea to them as to what minifigures are displayed, but then they kind of fall down on the job. It seems that whoever designed them just wanted a smattering of characters from throughout the years of Lego Star Wars, such as them putting a sand red battle droid and blue SBD on the Separatist card, and Episode II Anakin on the Jedi card, and a yellow Han and Leia on the "Heroes" card. And then there is the card with Jabba, which is just a smattering of other random characters. I think that if they had picked one time frame per card (except for the Bounty Hunter one, which is good), the cards would look a lot more impressive."

I explained how they all do have an intent, but that intent got kind of muddled in some of the cards.

No conclusions were jumped to, and I don't think there is any difference between "I think these cards make next to no sense," and ""I think it's funny how some of thee cards make next to no sense." All you have to do is remove several unnecessary words ("it's funny how some of") and the sentances are exactly the same. And I understood your explanation of why you thought some of them made no sense, but I didn't agree with what you were saying.

For instance Jabba is not on a card with "a smattering of other random characters" because they are clearly all aliens. And so what if Ep2 Anakin has a yellow face - he was still a Jedi. And what does it matter if a red BD is on the same card as blue SBD? So I chose to show that if you look at them in an uncomplicated way the themes are quite simple.

The purpose of these cards is to illustrate the range of LEGO Star Wars minifigs. They aren't supposed to be flash cards for the history of the Star Wars galaxy.

There goes my fifteen seconds of fame. oh and Jansued find the originals, thanks mate.

On the RBR in a nutshell.

I think there will be:

minifigs; Leia, Antilles, Rebel trooper maybe everybodies favourite Dark Lord. :sweet:

playability; guns, opening sides, cockpit, two-hand swooshability

stickers; i dont don't see any

design; it looks like the RBR so that's a good start, great cockpit, the engines are hard to see but the other three could fit in there i think

overall; I like it. Bring on the unveiling and show me more.

Right on with the minifigs and playability! However, this still doesn't seem to be a set I would buy. Depending on the price, parts, and minifigs, it might be a set I would consider.

You guys sure do a lot of guessing these days

And good guessing ideed.

I guess you'll just have to wait and see...

Ah, but we don't have to wait! For those of you who still receive the official LEGO magazine, look on pg. 10 of the July-August issue (in the lower right corner):

SHHH! Brickmaster is bringing a LEGO Star Wars secret to Comic Con!

San Diego Comic Con 2009 Booth 2629

So if I'm right, it is ComicCom they're revealing it at!

There you are,

Well I did get a look at the box today at work. I don't want to spoil any surprises but I can give you a couple of hints;

-It will have mini-figures. Five.

-It does have 11 engines in the back

-Approx 1,400 pieces

MLB

Sweet thanks for the info. So, My guess is

R2-D2

C-3PO

Leia

Captian Antillies

a Rebel

I did have a feeling about the engines, but the talk on that was to heated for me to butt in. I must say it looks far less than 1400 peices... more like 900-1000. Oh well

$150 US sounds about right. Sounds good. Any more than that I'll probably pass.

Can we get another R2?

I really hope it doesn't have another R2, but I have a feeling it will. I am going for Leia, Antilles, R2, C3PO, and a Rebel Trooper. Antilles will be the only really cool one, at least in my opinion.

Thanks for the info einsteinonthebeach  . Personally I am starting to feel this new RBR like a let down :cry_sad: . Fie minifigs??? C´mon TLC this is supposed to be THE anniversary set and just 5 minifigs of which I am almost sure to be the common Leia, Rebel Trooper, R2, C-3PO and Cap. Antilles who isn´t all that exciting because is basically a Rebel Trooper with orange shirt :hmpf: . Also 1400 pieces sound a bit too much for what I saw in the pics but maybe it is because of the "greebling" . The more I look at the pics of the old RBR the more I feel this new one is mostly a step backwards :hmpf: . Also why the TLC don´t release the 10188 Death Star this year and the 10198 Rebel Blockade Runner the last one, it would have been a A LOT more iconic.

Threepio is good though. We haven't gotten one in awhile, except for the Death Star. There's been a drought for such a major character.

Maybe we can get the "Rebel Friend" from the Lego Star Wars II video game.

Kind of like how we haven't gotten a Padme in about, oh, 8 or 9 years. lol

It would be really cool if we got a (chrome) U-3P0 with the set.

That's the best explanation I've ever heard.

You should put that in your sig or something. Press on!

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks, though. I didn't think it was that impressive. :classic: I'll see about putting it in my sig. It seems a little wordy.

That basically sums up my off-topic sub-discussion.

And I think you mean "qualify" there, not "quantify."

Thanks for the kind words. And, I meant quantify.

See, I was going to include that but I wasn't sure if sets that contain minifigures and aren't to scale are called "System scale." I knew "System" fit in their somewhere, but I wasn't quite sure where. Thanks for clearing that up.

Thank you very much for that news, einsteinonthebeach! :classic:

So 1400 pieces - probably 150-200 Euros which is really enough for that :sceptic: set!

Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 are surely included. But if we've got bad luck we even don't get any new minifigure (such as Antilles) but a regular Rebel Trooper and a Stormtrooper.

A silvern 3PO is imo totally excluded - although I really would like to get one.

It's ashame that the Rebel Blockade Runner looks so small, I hope it is a fake picture, personally. Look at the scale of the one studs compared to the whole set.

It's no fake, CloneCommmanderDelta7 - regrettably. :sadnew:

I totally agree with you, darkrebellion!

I really don't understand why TLG releases that a "small" RBR which offers nearly no interior and even includes only that less minifigures.

This is the 10th anniversary of Lego SW and when the rumours came up of the Tantive 4 everybody was expecting something really great with about eight minifigs (including minimum two new minifigs) and a descent interior (cockpit, floor with blowing up door, engine room and control room (where Vader tortures Antilles)). I really don't understand why TLG focuses that much on exterior details - if someone is that interested in exterior details he or she can and should buy the UCS version! That's the money and these are the bricks which now are missing for more room and a descent interior!

Well i really like the look of the RBR and have high hopes for the set. As for internal details maybe LEGOscum can help shed some light on that as he must have seen the set when he pictured it for the new DK book. :classic:

Although i am sure he pretty much signed his life away in some kind of lego secrets act!

Posted (edited)

Wow, the Tantive looks ok. I'll have to see the interior before I decide whether to buy it or not. I'm guessing it will just be the famous hallway and the cockpit. Unless the interior is SUPER detailed, this can't be more than 150 dollars.

what a mature person u r! U go on a forum to brag about seeing a lego model, refuse to elaborate and then claim you 'cant' - so you can just give away details YOU consider irrelevant?

My sources tell me that you havent seen this set - but i cant reveal them because i'm hoping i'll look like 'a big man' for this :hmpf:

Huh? LEGOscum was not being immature or bragging, he was simply giving away as much information as he was allowed to, just like einsteinonthebeach. LEGO does not want their employees spilling all the beens, I am sure, so I am quite thankful that both of these members have given us as much information as they could. Both have been quite helpful when it comes to discussions about the upcoming book and ending the minifigure and midi-scale queries about the RBR.

On another note, I disagree with all those who say that the RBR is the anniversary set, so it should be quite large, minifig filled, and quite expensive. LEGO has released several sets this year that collectively celebrate the anniversary, all of which have been nice and presented a few new figures or elements (Taun Taun, Ackbar, new ewoks, etc.). I think the RBR will be just another nice set to add to the anniversary celebration, without it being definitive in any way. For one, I could not afford something as big and lovely as the Death Star.
