RoflWafls Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I was just looking at the Tantive IV in the complete cross sections star wars book and Leia actually does have an office but I'm sure she doesn't have the same desk as the chancellor, lol!!!!Soooo the set is actually accurate HA!!!! So it is accurate! But that doesn't make it less stupid.... (Man, I've been posting alot today.) Quote
darthlucas Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 So it is accurate! But that doesn't make it less stupid.... (Man, I've been posting alot today.) I know right they should've put something that was in the movie and that everyone knows not like leia's office (lame) but still geting the set and maybe moding it!!! Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 A massive improvement! A must buy now - its basically the republic cruiser but done far far better Leia office looks rather familiar....Lego seems to have to include an escape pod and 'office' in every starship... True its not the set we deserve - this will be £150 - 2 years ago £150 would have bought you atleast 2500 bricks.... Quote
-JD- Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) Also, new pics on the Comic Con exclusive set!I must admit, I would of never seen this coming! Very interest "sets" They look alright, but I'm not that interested. It is only good for those who do not have those specific figures. The one with Ackbar looks good though. I may order that off somewhere. Well, it's bigger than I thought (that's what she said ).It actually looks pretty cool, and now I'm really want one. I think the other picture looked so bad just because of the camera angle. And it does have minifigures. Who called it? EDIT: Did anybody else realize that Captain Antilles has a new face? He's smiling [>SNIP<] Atleast they bothered to make a new face. Unlike those Senate Commandos. The new high res pictures make it look even better than before. Hopefully this will be the same price as the Venator. The little office/control room looks good, but I think the mid section has the corridor where Leia gives R2 the plans. That different coloured C3-PO could easily be a different protocol droid if, like me, you have the one from 1999. Greetings, JD Edited July 22, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
Spyder Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Here's some more.http://cache.lego.com/images/shop/Shop06/P...000-xx-33-1.jpg http://cache.lego.com/images/shop/Shop06/P...000-xx-33-2.jpg http://cache.lego.com/images/shop/Shop06/P...000-xx-33-3.jpg http://cache.lego.com/images/shop/Shop06/P...000-xx-33-4.jpg Sweet! Leia's office isn't too bad, At least it has some nice sand blue tiles. I just hope the space is tall enough so it can fit a minifig standing. Otherwise, we'll be forced to mod the height of that section, and it will look all wrong. That cockpit will definitely need some modding, but overall, I'm happy with what Lego has given us here. (I just wish they could have included a couple more exclusive figs.) Quote

-JD- Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Oh yeh. My mistake. I wonder whether there is a corridor or not then... Maybe in the engine section? Surely they would atleast include the door that Vader uses to get inside? Quote
Commander Flash Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 If the office (or if you mod it into a hallway) can have a minifig standing (which I doubt) It would just fit. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I think that if there was the famous corridor it would be mentioned or pictured somewhere on the LEGO page. I can see why LEGO didn't put it in, and I'm not so unhappy that they left it out. I mean, it was, after all, just a hallway, and there would be no real place for it in the ship unless it filled the middle section, which wouldn't have made much sense anyway. I think a control center and office is the perfect thing for the center of a ship because it does not confine kids to reenacting the opening hallway scene from Ep4. This way, kids can have Leia go carry out secret missions for the Alliance from her own personal desk. I like the idea! I'm not sure why people are saying that the C3PO coloring is new. He had that same color in the Death Star. I am also not as excited about Captain Antilles as a lot of other people. Sure, he's more exciting than another certain Antilles, but he really just has a new jacket and a smiling rebel trooper face. If he has a reverse side, that will make it better, but I wish LEGO had included another exclusive figure. On the other hand, I have no idea who that could be, because there aren't any other people who aren't already minifigures who appeared on the ship. Maybe they could've made a Bail Organa to help Leia carry out secret mission, but he never even appeared in the old movies anyway! Quote
natelite Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 well, after so many positive comments, let me be the first with a negative. $150 for 5 figures?! the smiling face of capt antilles is nice and will be popular with mocers but such a simple face? that face should have been introduced in a battle pack as a normal rebel soldier. and $150 for 1400 pieces is clearly the hallmark of a sw set. if you look closer, it's mostly made up of greeble pieces. so it's probably closer to $100 if it didn't have the SW tag on it. sorry... only 5 figures and nothing special... i'm saving my money until it comes down to $100. it's not like i'm lacking anything to buy. the endor, home one and hoth sets are sound purchase... this isn't. The Who Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 P.S. Can I have I prize if I guessed right, seeing as once again I'm the only one saying something different about a rumor? I agree with you! Do you guys notice how the rebel trooper in this picture has legs the same colour as his arms (sand blue)? In the Rebel Battle Pack, the troopers had light bluish grey legs. Why the change? I think his legs are light bley in the picture of the cockpit, so that might be a temporary thing for that picture individually. And did Leia get a new torso? How do I put this...She looks...sort of oddly shaped on her frontside. Quote
______ Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...n=240&d=322 the engines are more promising than they look on the main box art at least! Quote
SWMAN Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 It's interesting that, like the AT-OT and Dropship, the day it is officially announce the Tantive IV went up on S@H. Both of these sets went up prior to release (with a coming soon logo), while most sets go up on or after release. Quote
The Who Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 This is already in the 2009 Sets and Rumors Topic. Close please. Quote
KimT Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 Indeed it is. The pics are also to be found in the closed News Topic which is pinned. This is closed. Quote

RoflWafls Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I found the prices on FBTB! (CA $199.99 / UK £ 97.86 / DE € 149.99). Quote

PaulKiwiGordon Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Having just looked at the cockpit photo's I hope the top of the cockpit is not clear pieces with stickers on top as they would be awful to get right. Quote

Spyder Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Surely they would atleast include the door that Vader uses to get inside? I doubt it seeing as they didn't even include a Vader. i'm saving my money until it comes down to $100. You've actually posted some pretty good points, I'll probably wait until a sale too, although I'm almost sure it wouldn't be marked down to $100 Quote
Darth Legolas Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) No worries everyone, the cockpit is printed! It's a little weird that the windows are int the front and back, but hey, since the part is printed, it's good enough. Now somebody brought up that Lego did the same S@H thing with the AT-OT and Dropship. I noticed that too, they aren't UCS sets though. the only "System Scale" UCS was the MF, and that really wasn't, it just including minifigures. I'm praying that Antilles has a double printed face, that would be awesome! Sadly, it seems that a minifig cannot stand up while the roof is on the ship, but hey, you can't set up a battle with the roof on anyway! The Rebel probably does have gray legs, and it was just a digital mistake when they created that other picture. Now we know everything about the new Tantive IV, I am so ready to be proven right or wrong about the SDCC09 exclusive! By the way, I want my winnings in gold C3-POs, Chrome Vaders, Jango Fett's and Printed Boba's please! EDIT: Apparently, I like to press the enter button a lot, but besides that, they are listed as UCS sets on S@H. It's odd though, because they aren't really. They're just big famous sets. pedro Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Looks like my guess about the minifigs was right on the nose! Glad to see they altered the construction method from the Republic Cruiser to accomodate a single spacious interior too. This set looks amazing. The Rebel Blockade Runner is a much loved vehicle and Star Wars icon and LEGO have done it justice - again! The details and scale are superb, printed elements, and the minifig selection is as it should be - the number of crew can be amped up with a few extra troopers from 7668. It's certainly an interesting choice to make the interior Leia's office - but it does look nice. There probably isn't a great deal of vertical height (like the RC) and there'll most likely be a sturdy built support structure under that section... so no room for the infamous corridor! May be worth modifyng but I'd be happy to keep it as is too. Surely they would atleast include the door that Vader uses to get inside? If not I'm sure Vader and his troops can just blow a hole in the side! :skull: Maybe they could've made a Bail Organa to help Leia carry out secret mission, but he never even appeared in the old movies anyway! I think he may have made the briefest appearance as a mass of atoms travelling at the speed of light from the void that once was Alderaan... It seems just about right, since 98 GBP is around $164 USD. Aye, I agree. Even just by sight it looks to be at that price level - the Republic Cruiser was £64.99 as I remember. Quote
legolandia Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 RBR looks great but i am not that impressed with the minifig sets. It seems like TLC is tryig to shift a few minifigs that havent sold. Quote
