Clone OPatra Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I looked back, and I don't think this has been posted yet. So, those people saying it was the minis were partially correct. One of them is new, but the other looks like the same AT-TE. Credit goes to jmenomeno on Flickr, check that link for cool Prince of Persia and Toy Story stuff too. Quote

Everything in that photostream is awesome, even the car with only one mile on it. Quote
RoflWafls Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I was reading Lego's description of the Tantive and saw: "Open the storage compartment to reveal the cargo transport vehicle" Where do your think they put the storage compartment on the ship? Maybe in the engine area? Quote
Kami Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Looks to me judging from the pictures; the only available space is between the office and the 2 escape pods. Note that that section uses the same large parts as the escape pod, so there should be enough room for a small vehicle. Hopefully something nice, not like that weird plane thing from the R cruiser. def Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Awesome.Everything in that photostream is awesome, even the car with only one mile on it. Agreed. Even the Toy Story sets look better than I'd expect. But the mini dropship takes the cake. Quote
Xenophilius Studz Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 The Tantive IV looks excellent. The hallway scene has always been one of my all time favorite Star Wars scene. So if I have the money to get this beauty, I'll definetly MOD the interior to make a somewhat hallway. Leia's desk, what the heck? It was never seen in the movie, they all know we would rather have the hallway fight or a Leia giving R2 the DS plans room. The figs are also cool, especially Captain Antilles. Darth Vader and a Stormy too would be even better. Quote
CommanderFox Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) The mini dropship takes the cake. AGREED!! That thing is an awesome little mini, Id very much like to compare it to the big version which I have so it would be nice to get this aswell so I can compare them. Are they selling them at Comic Con? or where, sorry Im an NZer so I don't no alot about these avents and all anyone want to sell one to me PLEASE!! maybe KimT can make it a prize in the next compitition now im off topic..sorry CommanderFox Edited July 23, 2009 by CommanderFox Quote

ILikePi Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 That exclusive Comic Con set looks pretty cool. I bet it would go well with the real Republic Dropship with AT-OT set. Now I'm just hoping that someone will do a detailed review with a complete scan of the instructions. Quote
RileyC Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 The comic con exclusive looks quite average in my opinion but good for collectors. I really like the look of the Tantive IV, All the minifigs look really cool and would be nice to get captain antilles. I really like what they did with the interior of the ship and its good to see that the cockpit window pieces is transparent with the detail on top but what confuses me is where are the 2 escape pods? I was trying to find them on the zoom feature but I couldn't find them. With the price quite low for a set this big now I need to find the money for endor bunker, home one and this Quote
Bricklanta Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I'm going to comic-con on Sunday, I can't wait to see all the new Star Wars sets they have. Quote
Rufus Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 RBR: Wow. Go to the lego shop and do the 360 spin. Looks awesome! Perhaps no landing gear, but it appears to sit in the two underside protrusions. The only odd thing is the green-yellow engine lights - they were red in the movie and on the UCS RBR. Rufus Quote
Alldarker Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 In the official pictures the Tangtive IV looks a lot better! I can imagine this is exactly the reason why lego doesn't want pictures leaking before the official release: it gives Lego the chance to convey a complete package of information and pictures, without unsubstantiated claims being made based on vague pictures. In this case, of course, the pictures weren't leaked but were available on the back of the instructions for a very early release of the Fire Station. Available from August 25th, for € 149,99... A fair price. The biggest problem I'm going to have this year is clearing enough shelve space for all the new sets! I've already dismantled my (very dusty) UCS ISD and I've still got the UCS Death Star II, the UCS Millenium Falcon, the AT-OT / Dropship, the Market Village and Indy's Flying Wing unbuilt in storage and still all my shelves are full!!! And just when I was about to add a second A-wing hangar onto my Home One... I was reading Lego's description of the Tantive and saw: "Open the storage compartment to reveal the cargo transport vehicle"Where do your think they put the storage compartment on the ship? Maybe in the engine area? Looks like there are two possibilities: in the enginecompartment (just behind the thrusters), or behind the office. Behind the thrusters looks like it has the most space, but this area is probably only about two or three bricks high, so I doubt it. Behind the office looks more likely, seeing as it is indeed made from the same hollow pieces that make up the escape pods, and (using zoom) I see the end of a 1 x 2 grilled tile just in front of the escape pods, indicating there is something 'more than meets the eye' in there (and I don't mean a Transformer!). It's going to be a small vehicle though. Quote
Oky Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Lots of detailed pics of the Tantive's exterior and its figs here: Pic is a link. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Lots of detailed pics of the Tantive's exterior and its figs here: Pic is a link. Thank you very much for the link to the pics, Oky Wan Kenobi! It's really a pity that TLG didn't show the interior of the RBR at Comic Con. I found the prices on FBTB!(CA $199.99 / UK £ 97.86 / DE € 149.99). Thank you very much for that information, RoflWafls! 150 Euros seems imo to be ok - really not cheap - but ok. I was reading Lego's description of the Tantive and saw: "Open the storage compartment to reveal the cargo transport vehicle"Where do your think they put the storage compartment on the ship? Maybe in the engine area? I bet that it'll be stored between the office and the escape pods. At the place where there are the engines I highly doubt that TLG will include any interior - whereas a small floor would have place there nevertheless. Looks to me judging from the pictures; the only available space is between the office and the 2 escape pods.Note that that section uses the same large parts as the escape pod, so there should be enough room for a small vehicle. Hopefully something nice, not like that weird plane thing from the R cruiser. I exactly fear that it'll be something similar to the one in the RC. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Deinonychus Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Wow, quite a change in my opinion over such short of a span. When the official LEGO images of this set came out the other day, I decided within a few minutes that I could pass on this set and that the original UCS version was clearly superior, the same way I got out of buying the Minifig-scale Star Destroyer. But the pictures of this thing "in the wild" at SDCC make it look very tightly designed, and very cool. now I've swung the other way and can't wait to get this set. Hopefully it'll be near the same weight as the Republic Cruiser, because this set would look great hanging from the ceiling alongside Quote
LEGOscum Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 The comic con exclusive looks quite average in my opinion but good for collectors. I managed to score a full set :) Quote
Darth Legolas Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 There! See. I think you all owe me an apology! The LAAT/C should be more detailed, but it's still a little cool. But who cares, I've got the real thing! And also, the Tantive IV cockpit is definitely printed as we an now see. So, do I get my prize? Quote

ILikePi Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Wow, three people quoted Oky Wan's post, so there's now four of the exact same picture on the exact same page. After seeing these pictures, I can say that the Tantive IV looks awesome. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) Wait, does that mean that the comic con set is the mini LAAT/C and the minis? The mini LAAT/C and the mini. The Republic Gunship mini isn't included, if that's what you're asking. Off Topic: Seriously, I'm still waiting for that apology! Edited July 24, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
Erdbeereis Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 The Tantive IV is looking extremely nice to me. The shape is beautiful, and it seems to have quite a few nice parts as well. It's a shame we didn't get a few more minifigs, but it's not a big deal, and I'm especially glad the price is at least semi-reasonable. I think I'll definitely try to get this one. Off Topic: Seriously, I'm still waiting for that apology! Do you have to say this in every sentence? Quote

Zzz Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 exclusives - nothing to get excited about (for me) - but the death star display box is sweet! Tantive 4 - wonderful, amazing etc. (just have to get rid of the small transport or whatever... hate those ugly little thingies) -- (oh and no landing gear.... damn it, I hoped so much for a Republic-Cruiser-like gear. and now I see it is supposed to land balancing on the canon??) 2010 Battlepacks - this is an adult site so I can say? I really don't care if I pay 15 or 25 €. We got a sort of Hoth BP just now, there is no need to give us the same minifigs in a small set next year.. (but adding a pilot is a good idea. If there is also a mechanic, I will shut up, promise!) Quote
