Darth Legolas Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I doubt there will be prelims of the BPs, as we have already seen them, just hella blurry. The Tri-fighter's build really couldn't be much different than the first, as it was pretty spot on. Why wouldn't you want a Bantha? So far the only two riding beasties we've had are the Dewback and Taun taun, oh, and the Kaadu, so make that three, but a Bantha would be great. Silence non-believer! The tri-fighter will not be a tri-fighter! It will be a tri-droid! Just you wait! Explain to me why we need a new one! Explain to me why we also need a new ARC-170! It makes no sense! On the subjects of Bantha, I know it would be pressing our luck to get one, but if Lego were awesome this could be the year of animals! I mean, if we get a Bantha we better freakin' get a rancor! Probably because they are (or will be) featured heavily in the Clone Wars, and the Arc fighter especially is one of the most popular ships. They haven't been available to buy since 2005 and not everyone has been collecting Lego for as long as that, I welcome a new version of it and I'm sure many kids who've only just got into it because of the Clone Wars will too. Haha, that's where you are wrong, my friend! Sorry, I had to say that. After my huge argument over the notion that we'd be getting new Phase II clones, I one the battle and proved that the Phase II clones would not be entering for at least a season, and the ARC-170 was not instated until a while after Phase II armor was introduced. No Phase II armor, no ARC-170's. We may be getting a set though, the way we got the AT-OT and Dropship, both not yet featured in the clone wars, but why would we get a Tri-Fighter! Quote
pedro Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Looking at this list again it occured to me I just about have it all already in one form or another - the exception being the Freeco Bike and TIE Defender! Ok there might be the few odds and ends or parts thrown into the battlepacks, etc. to spice 'em up but it's a shame LEGO couldn't give some other vehicles a treatment before re-doing some previously released sets; either that or included them as a part of a larger playset - Luke's landspeeder in a Mos Eisley setting for instance. I do understand why they're doing it of course... and it's most likely that some of the newer versions will be much better. But with the steady increase of price for SW LEGO it seems less likely I'll feel inclined to buy all of what - for me - could almost be considered duplicates. Quote
simonjedi Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I hope the tie defender rumour is true, I've been hoping that TLC moves into the EU side of things. Thrawn and KotOR next please. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 The Clone Wars is technically EU, so there. While I would love to see I Tri-droid, all the lists we've gotten clearly say Tri-fighter. Unless for some reason the provider jumbled up the TIE Defender (Three Wings) and Tri-droid (Three legs and the word Tri), I doubt that it'll happen January 2010. Quote
simonjedi Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 The clone wars animated series is canon so there back Quote
Darth Legolas Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 The clone wars animated series is canon so there back Yes, it's canon, but no they aren't back. The season is before 20 BBY and the next season is before 20 BBY. There were only a few months of those ships existing before episode III. So no, they aren't back! Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 EU is canon. EU is everything that doesn't happen in the movies, therefore, it expands the Star Wars Universe. And Darth Legolas, wrong 'there'...... And 20 BBY was right before 19 BBY. And season one happened in 22 BBY, so season two probably will as well. But as off those lists, we are getting a Tri-fighter, and ARC-170. Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) I feel we're getting a little off topic here, but the EU isn't 100% canon. It's simply EU canon.. The movies always take a higher priority and as Clone Wars was created by George Lucas, it sits on the same level as canon along with the movies. I think it's generally accepted that things that happen in the EU are canon, but their subject to be overwritten by anything that happens in the movies, Clone Wars or the upcoming live action TV show. I know there are a lot of hardcore fans out there that would massively disagree with that, but Lucas himself doesn't consider the EU to be canon at all, so the fact things like Clone Wars hasn't already undone a lot of events from the EU is purely because some of the writters on it happen to have the respect for it that Lucas doesn't. I actually wasn't aware of that at all, but my point still stands. It hasn't been available since 2005, and it was a popular ship. Also, they've said Season 2 won't follow a linear path, and will be jumping all over the timeline, so there's still no reason we couldn't see some episodes featuring the ARC fighters. I'm not really a fan of this idea, and I'm not sure how much it's going to jump around, but I do think it'd be cool to see the Phase II's and Jedi interceptors, etc make an appearence. Totally agree with you simonjedi that the TIE Defender will be great and I'll love to see Thrawn and Mara Jade one day. As for whether the ARC-170 will be in the Season 2 and whether the timeline is right for it ... I'm sure if the ARC-170 in Season 2 will help sell Lego, DVDs and merchandise then they will put it in and come up with an explanation later. We are dealing with fantasy/fiction here so anything is possible (just like when I first found out that the evil Darth Vader is Luke's father all those years ago). Quote
Future74 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I would prefer Gaffi sticks over black muskets for the Tuskens anyday. My take on the Landspeeder: Luke Obi-wan R2-D2 C-3PO Two Tuskens with Gaffi Sticks and a Banthat All for aroudn $30USD When I read that it just makes me think, How about: Luke Obi-wan R2-D2 C-3PO and two sandtroopers "We dont need to see his identification... These aren't the droids were looking for... you can go about your business... move along" Quote
RileyC Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) I don't mind what other minifigs lego will put in the set wether it be tuskens or sandtroopers. Id like some tuskens but some more pauldrons would be nice. Edited August 14, 2009 by Roncanator Quote

Hmm, I don't know which is more likely, it could be either troopers or tuskens (I would personally like tuskens more). I still think that we will see a moisture evaporator, too. Quote

What do you mean 'Sandtroopers are rare'? There was on in every Mos Eisley Cantina set as well as two in the Imperial Landing Craft. Obviously Luke would be in it, with it being Luke's Landspeeder and all. The Landspeeder went from Luke's home to the Jundland Wastes, to a Sandcrawler, back to Luke's home, then to Mos Eisley, so there is no telling what would be in the set. And rockinkurt13, please use caps and proper punctuation. Quote

GoN2Broadway Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 well they have only been in two sets but the minifig is just a stormtrooper with a pauldron on so they arent special just rare. It would be really nice if they had a new Sandtrooper design which was a figure that looked more sand covered rather than just a white stormtrooper with an orange pauldron. That would be really nice! The Who Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 well they have only been in two sets but the minifig is just a stormtrooper with a pauldron on so they arent special just rare.Actually, they were special in the Mos Eisley Cantina set because:1--They had a slightly different helmet print than the Stormtroopers in later sets. 2--They had Pauldrons. 3--They had rebreather backpacks, unlike any other set. 4--And they rode on Dewbacks. No, they are not extremely rare, but rare nevertheless. Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 The first half of the year have cheaper sets than the bigger second half. So the ARC-170 could be the flagship for the first half then the Luke's Landspeeder or the Freeco Speeder could be the next most expensive one. I've got a feeling the TIE will be the same price as Darth Vader's TIE in 2009 and whatevers next will be the Hyena Droid Bomber pricing ($40AUD). Of course the battlepacks will be the same as always. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 If we really do get a TIE Defender I'm going to be really excited it's one of the few ships I've wanted since the start of Lego Star Wars, now if we could just get an Assault Gunboat aswell, well I can dream. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Gotta saw a TIE Defender gets my blood pumping Vaders Tie Advanced was (finally) a correct looking TIE - so maybe the days of the dreadful version we've been fed so far are over ...Lego can do it in blue and it wont matter... ...knowing them they'll do it in red Quote
CC-5052 Bly Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I can't wait to see how TLC will make this freeco bike. I'm getting the arc-170 since i missed it the first time 'round. Quote
