hollisbrick Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Gotta saw a TIE Defender gets my blood pumpingVaders Tie Advanced was (finally) a correct looking TIE - so maybe the days of the dreadful version we've been fed so far are over ...Lego can do it in blue and it wont matter... ...knowing them they'll do it in red I reckon that'll look kinda cool actually Quote
Darth Legolas Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I know it sounds strange but if we do get a TIE defender I'll just have a spazz attack all over the floor. I just got an X-wing and built a custom TIE so here's my current checklist: TIE Advanced TIE Fighter TIE Bomber TIE Defender TIE Interceptor Speaking of which, is there a TIE Crusader? That would sound awesome! Quote
-JD- Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I know it sounds strange but if we do get a TIE defender I'll just have a spazz attack all over the floor. That is normal for you right? JK. Nah, I probably will too! Quote
The Who Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Speaking of which, is there a TIE Crusader? Not unless you built a MOC of one. That is normal for you right? I think so... Quote

Well at least I wouldn't soil my pant's like some OT/EU fans here! I wonder what minifigs we'd be getting. Clearly a TIE pilot, hopefully with a more printed helmet though, because the last time they were all black with just two imperial symbols. It'll be filled with flick-fires, sadly, we could hope for a blunt missile that could be hidden somewhere. We can count on a non-detailed cockpit. Guessing some stickered imperial symbols, and that's about it. I could really do for an updated TIE Bomber. Then all I'd have left is a TIE Interceptor to complete my collection of most-well known TIE's. Now I'm off to write the schematics of the TIE Crusader! Quote

Yea a TIE pilot is going to be in it. If they really needed to have another minifig in there then I guess they would have an Imperial officer like the ones from 7264 Imperial Inspection: Edited August 18, 2009 by Roncanator Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I hope they do have a TIE Pilot that has better helmet detailing as the one from Imperial Landing Craft makes me sick! TIE PALADIN X-1 A blastboat style TIE fighter! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 What about both! Banthas and Dewbacks galore! Sandtroopers make sense, too. Hmm, I don't know which is more likely, it could be either troopers or tuskens (I would personally like tuskens more). I still think that we will see a moisture evaporator, too. Since the Luke's Landspeeder set will be only a small set it's not very likely that we'll see a Mos Eisley Cantina building in it (apart from that TLG then would surely name it Mos Eisley Cantina and not Luke's Landspeeder). And since there won't be a Mos Eisley Cantina in it it's even very unlikely that there'll be some Sandtroopers included since the additional minifigs should relate to the other contents. And Sandtroopers were only seen in Mos Eisley and in the dessert searching for the droids - but confrontation with Luke or Ben in Luke's hometown. So I bet we'll see two Tuskens and a Bantha. Btw: Since we're getting the Landspeeder as a seperate set it's imo totally excluded that we'll see a Mos Eisley Cantina set next year or in 2011 since a Mos Eisley Cantina set has/surely would include Luke's Landspeeder. I think everyone is forgetting the fact that these are just rumors that we are speculating, and we have had NO word from TLC. Considering that we haven't seen any official names, I think that this is a possibility. However, I think its more likely that we will see the Tusken scene... -darthperson Quote

This was actually a terrible minifigure for me. Not because of the body or the hat, which are quite handy, but why the hell is he smiling? "Oh, I can get strangled any moment, how 'bout I smile?" Is Lego promoting drug abuse? I think the best helmet for a new TIE pilot would be just like the black hole trooper helmet from the battlepack, but with silver imperial markings. Sadly, we will have to get stickers on the ship, but it's a given. Edited August 18, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
Markypops Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) Just to take us back to 2009 for a moment. Some news for UK fans, the mid scale Falcon will be available via Tesco,(It's exclusive to Tesco). It's on their direct website right now for £39.97. I know that they are about to change their instore set-up in the next month for the run up to Christmas. I would imagine that it will be available instore when this happens. I know that they are about to change their instore set-up in the next month for the run up to Christmas. Wow, that's almost a £10 price hike - the set retails at £29.35. Avoid and purchase from Shop@Home I'd say - you're still saving money even with P&P added. It may be available at other chains further down the line too. Quote
GRogall Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) Here another picture inside the Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary! Sorry if it has been posted before but with 355 pages wasn't about to go through them all! and more info here. Update for the people that didn't attend Comicon Edited August 19, 2009 by grogall Quote
rockinkurt13 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 On the website, it says lego will NEVER make a Yavin set, but a rough model is in the book, if someone finds that picture, please tell me. Quote
pedro Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Cheers grogall, I haven't seen those particular images Can't wait to get this book, some of the details sound awesome: flip animations in the corners, Yavin IV model - exciting stuff! Quote
sologuy369 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I can't wait till the book comes out. To bad LSW is ending in 2011. Thoughts on landspeeder. - Luke's landspeeder - Luke, Ben, C-3P0, R2, Bantha and two Tusken Raiders -rock formation Quote
Svelte Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Thanks for the new pics, grogall. This book is really looking excellent, and the layout looks exceptional - much better than some of the DK 'churn 'em out' Visual Dictionary styles. It even makes me want the old AT-TE Let's just hope the Luke fig is a proper one and not one of the crappy pre-assembled cheapy versions a la the magnets, battlepacks and so on. Quote
Corvus Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Is it just me, or does his neck (EDIT: print) look yellow? Could be the light, but I hope not. Quote
Svelte Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 It looks fleshy to me, same as the exposed neck print area on the shirt Quote
Corvus Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 It looks fleshy to me, same as the exposed neck print area on the shirt Sorry, I meant the print. It looks to be the same yellow as the shirt to me. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Thanks for the new pics grogall. The top of the torso looks yellow, but there is a wedge of flesh in there. There is a line of the main colour of the torso on most figures. Quote
ILikePi Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) Thanks for finding those pictures and the link to the official site for the book, grogall! The book looks like it's going to be a great read. And for those who are wondering, there is a flesh printed part on the torso. Just look at the end of this video: http://us.dk.com/static/cs/us/11/101009/videos.html Edited August 19, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
RileyC Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) aw man! No Yavin IV set from lego. Yavin IV is an iconic place in Star Wars and there could be some great sets made out of it. I think he gave us a bit of a hint to the rumor about the freeco speeder bike: Im sure there'll be lots of the new vehicles from the Clone Wars TV series: Freeco speeder bikes, Weequay pirate ships etc. He named one released set and one thats supposed to come out next year. Could this back up the German amazon listing? Edited August 19, 2009 by Roncanator Quote
