ADHO15 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Thanks for all the pics, grogall. We've seen the LEGO postcard things before, but those pages in the book are new to me. I'd prefer the newer versions of the AT-TE and LAAT/i, but it's not a big problem. The book is a definite buy for me, and the exclusive Luke fig is the icing on the cake. He look really accurate and well-designed. The neck area definitely looks light flesh to me. I'm still not a fan of long-haired Luke, though. Quote
fenris Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I think the book is a great idea and i can't wait to get hold of one. The minifig that goes with it is a nice incentive, but i'd love to have pics of all the figs not only on a computerscreen but in a real book. Makes somehow a difference... maybe it's a little frustrating to see all the figs that are still missing in my collection though... Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Yavin IV sounds interesting, that would make a very cool set. But it also sounds like the book doesn't include any of the 2009 sets. Quote
DarthSion Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The official star wars shop has some of the new sets up, also Indi sets. http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/category....gory_id=1300808 Quote
Commander Flash Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Good find Darth Sion. Might be better in the appropriate Availability thread . Quote
The Who Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Is it just me, or does his neck (EDIT: print) look yellow? Could be the light, but I hope not.It does look yellow, but I really hope the final production version is not. Quote
ILikePi Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) It does look yellow, but I really hope the final production version is not.Look at these replies by me and grogall:And for those who are wondering, there is a flesh printed part on the torso. Just look at the end of this video:http://us.dk.com/static/cs/us/11/101009/videos.html This may or may not help Edited August 19, 2009 by ILikePi Quote

I was being lazy when I saw the link, and didn't feel like clicking it, but it deffinately shows the fleshieness of the torso. The picture from Jedinews still looks yellow, though. Yes you were so lazy, you didn't even spot the Jedi News pictures in the closed news topic And yes it looks yellow, except for the skin (flesh) print on the front of the torso (fix eyes on medal and move fixation upwards towards the minifig's head ) Quote
Mission Commander Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 On the Comic- Con postcards I noticed that Darth Maul looked chrome, and Zam's helmet is wrong! Quote
KimT Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 On the Comic- Con postcards I noticed that Darth Maul looked chrome, and Zam's helmet is wrong! Pheew! Good that you've noticed. I'm not sure I could handle it if anyone didn't.... That totally changes how I view them. Quote
deco_droid Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 i'm still trying to figure out why the exclusive figure is being called "throne room" luke. in what throne room did luke wear that outfit? in hasbro's version, isn't it referred to as "ceremonial luke" or something like that? Quote
DarthSion Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I think its from the end of ANH, which i believe was a throne room of sorts, does it matter if its called throne room, i couldn't care if it was called Luke stands in a pile of rancor excrement, it looks good, limited edition and is a freebie. Quote
deco_droid Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 yah, it's not a big deal -- i just thought maybe this was another mistake, since i've heard the new book contains a few errors. "throne room" luke USUALLY refers to the outfit luke wore at the end of rotj in the emperor's --ahem-- throne room. Quote

I know I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, but ouch... (Still made me laugh, though. )Anyway, yes I saw the Jedinews pictures, but I was saying that even though I knew from the video it was flesh, the J.N. pictures still look sort of yellow. I think it's just the lighting, or maybe the angle of my computer screen. Quote

LEGOscum Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Just to take us back to 2009 for a moment. Some news for UK fans, the mid scale Falcon will be available via Tesco,(It's exclusive to Tesco). It's on their direct website right now for £39.97. I know that they are about to change their instore set-up in the next month for the run up to Christmas. I would imagine that it will be available instore when this happens. They've been available in store for over a week up here in Cambridgeshire, priced 29.97. Quote

ARC-170: Astromech, 3 clone pilots Even if we did get a Tri-Fighter, which I'm almost sure we won't, why the heck would we get a Jet Trooper? They can't survive in space! The rest sounds about right, the Bantha's still iffy and I'd love one extremely, but chances are truly 50/50. But next year is the ESB anniversary, so we better, better, better get a Wampa! Raaah! -JD- Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 The SW Specialist strikes again! I would much rather a new Space Trooper or Purge Trooper with the TIE Defender, considering they are EU. I wonder if the Purge Trooper would be brickbuilt.... The could easily make the Space Trooper. Stick a jetpack on a stormie with different printing on the torso and 'Voila'. And I hope we will get a couple more igures with the ARC-170. Maybe a couple of ground troops and a Jedi? Quote
