yellost Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I'd bet that it's Boba's Slave I, mostly because the have the set designed from last year.Think about it, even if the Home One lost the vote, Ackbar would have found his way into a set, just like Palpatine did. Another person, probably a Luminara figure, should have been on the Venator, but was shafted and Palpatine took the place. Why? Because they already had his figure made, and all set to go. Same with Ackbar and Boba's Slave I. They probably would have put in, "Home One Conference Room"; Includes: Ackbar, Madine, Mothma, and Lando, all around forty dollars. (Would have liked this better) I'm not saying I want Boba's Slave I, I would prefer Jango's, but this is the way it probably will be. Why waste money designing a new Slave I when you have Boba's all set to go? I believe that the set that was in competition with the Home One was supposed to be called "Palpatine's Arrest", which means it was the scene from Ep III. and TLC said they were only doing cartoonish head for the Clone Wars sets, not the film ones. So technically, it shouldn't have been the same Palpatine fig... But sill... As for the new Slave 1, they could indeed re release the old one in a sort of new set, the same way they did with the X-Wing a while back... Just remove yoda's hut, add a few minifig from another set, add a new painted helmet to grab the hardcore collectors' attention and voilà! completely new set... There are rumours Boba will be in clone wars season 2, and giving Boba is supposed to be the main character in the live action series its more than likely will be his slave one. From what I heard, the live action series will focus on completely new character not seen in the films. with a few appearances of som well known one but they're not supposed to be at the core of the series... Anyway, I'm quite curious as to what they'll do with the CTT, because there is a hell of a lot to improve over the previous design... So far it's the only set I own of which I actually regret ever buying... (LUL Mace Windu definitely not helping...) Quote
Darth Legolas Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 To be exact, people believe them to me Mando, its not been confirmed, although it would be a good set up, a Mandalorian and a young Boba with the slave one. Oh no! No please no! I just remember that the Slave I could be CW! stupid dead sheep shoes, I'd still like the minifig, and the ship, but the price will be auto-raise $10! Remember how the crazy awesome Star Destroyer was $20 less and almost 1.5X larger than the Venator? I still want to know these sources... how did we get them so quickly? The Landspeeder set sounds great. Although it doesn't suit my Hoth collection, it's more than welcome! OFF TOPIC: This year may work out well for my wallet. If all of these absurd and random remakes of Episode III sets come about, then I won't lose a penny. I'll just buy billions of Hoth Battlepacks! Of course I will have to get Plop Kooon's JSF and the Slave I, because even if it is CW, which I bet it is, then it will look cool! Quote
DarthSion Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Yeah see that's one of those maybe or maybe not, slave one could easy be CW, maybe not even Boba, maybe he lets the Mando (if that's what they are) use it, then could be just as easily OT, or EU if what i read is true and Boba is the main character of the live action. Quote
commdr_neyo Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I really hope the Slave I is a CW set, cause since I own Jango's, I don't want it to be his. Also, some Mandalorians which are not Jango or Boba would be really cool, especially with seperated jetpacks Quote
KimT Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Must update first post. Thanks for the new rumor list. Quote
legolandia Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I hope we get a Jango Slave 1. There has been a few Bobas around and Jango has only been made once. hopefully a new Jango coming out will knocks the ridiculously high prices it fetches on ebay down. I also hope that TLC makes a GG figure with a decent body. The current one has the body of a clone and it is normal height. G G should be taller than the Jedi figurines. Quote

DarthSion Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) I just looked at GG (07 star fighter) side by side with Starkiller, Obi (CW) and a imperial guard from the ISD, and GG is 1- 1/2 centimeters taller. off topic, who is CGH?. Edited August 25, 2009 by DarthSion Quote
Millacol88 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 off topic, who is CGH?. Captain Green Hair. Not too long ago he changed it to Captain Blue Hair for the Recoats vs. Bluecoats tournament. Quote
bamaker Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 8083 – Rebel Trooper Battle Pack - That's a purchase 8084 – Snowtrooper Battle Pack - That's a purchase 8085 – Freeco Speeder - Maybe purchase, I'll have to see what it looks like. I'm starting to get burnt out on all of these small & overpriced Clone Wars sets. 8086 – Droid Tri-Fighter - Ditto 8087 - Tie Defender - That's a purchase. This one I'm excited about. 8088 - ARC-170 Starfighter - Probable Clone Wars deco. This set will have to be something really special before I'll spend money on it. 8089 - Wampa Attack - That's a purchase. More excited about a chance to get Hoth Luke than I am about a wampa. 8092 - Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder - As much I wish LEGO wouldn't keep going back to the well on this one, I actually don't have a landspeeder. So, that's a purchase 8093 - Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter - Maybe, depends on if we get another jedi along with Plo Koon 8095 - General Grievous' Starfighter - see ARC-170 Starfighter 8096 - Palpatine's Shuttle - That's a purchase - hope it's not all tricked out in weird colors 8097 - Slave I - Please, oh please, be a Jango Fett version. My fear is it will be a Boba Fett version & LEGO will add in a never produced figure, like Bossk or Zuckuss, to entice folks to purchase yet another copy of this ship. 8098 - Clone Turbo Tank - see ARC-170 Starfighter Quote
Big Cam Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Very good bunch of sets, some old and some new. I can pick out a few that interest me. But everyone's been doing that and I know you guys don't care. Quote
Xin Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Nice sets for next year. I miss out on the first Clone Turbo tank. I assume this will be the Clone War series version? Good that Hoth will be getting an additional set in the Wampa attack. Only thing is that it will be Luke and Han again. Quote

It would be the thing to assume, but it seems next year we are getting an uproar of episode III sets. They could all be Clone Wars remakes, but that would be odd. I have a feeling Lego may be re-introducing Episode III sets. It will be the 5 year anniversery! Quote

I have a feeling Lego may be re-introducing Episode III sets. It will be the 5 year anniversery! A five years anniversary is not really a good reason to reintroduce sets. But, after all, TLC can surprise us. I think that Empire strikes back's 30th is enough. I don't want to be crushed under montains of anniversary sets After all, they are just normal sets, like the OT ones in 2006 while there was no anniversary. I also hope to soon see rumours of "special edition" sets (solar sailer, AT-OT, Tantive IV, Home one...) because they always are the most intriguing sets. Quote
legolandia Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Really! What Grevious do you have? Isn't he a bit taller already? I have the original one. It is around 2-3 milimetres taller than princess Leia as a slave. I dont consider that taller. And the legs and arms are the same as those of a droid (dont know why i got confused with a clone before). Quote
Oky Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 This new list of sets sounds interesting. The Turbo Tank and Plo's JSF sound plausible since they can be seen in the Season 2 trailer of the CW. GG's starfighter makes sense too since GG is one of the main villains in the CW there is no other way for TLG to release him since they seem to refuse to make CIS capital ships and his lair was only featured in one episode and probably wont return. This will give TLC a chance to redesign him. As mentioned before, he needs to be taller, so even if they simply exchange his legs against white SBD ones, I would be happy. Palpatines shuttle (if it is the one from ROTS) is a strange choice. Considering the rumors of an ARC 170 and a Tri-fighter, one could think they are bringing Ep.III sets back, but somehow I can't believe that. We'll see. Wampa attack sounds plausible too since it's the ESB anniversary, and a wampa is one of the only things people are still wishing for from that movie. And the minifig selection for the landspeeder sounds excellent to me (although I would have liked Tuskens too). Overal, next year sounds promising! Quote
ILikePi Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Here are my thoughts on all of these rumored 2010 sets (if anyone even cares about my opinion ): 8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack - Who doesn't love battle packs? 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack - see above 8085 Freeco Speeder - Sounds good. I wonder what minifigs it'll include? If it's around $10 USD, I'll definitely buy it. 8086 Droid Tri-Fighter - I didn't like LEGO when the first version came out, so a new Clone Wars version of it is good news to me. I just hope that there aren't that many stickers... 8087 TIE Defender - I don't really like TIEs (not colorful), so I won't be getting this. 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter - I probably won't get this because of all of the other sets that might come out next year... 8089 Wampa Attack - If this is a cheap set, it's a must buy for me. 8092 Luke's Landspeeder - I might get this, since a 2009 version of a landspeeder will probably be really good. 8093 Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter - I don't really like the look of Jedi starfighters. 8095 General Grievous' Starfighter - If this includes a new and improved Clone Wars Grievous with printing, and is around $20 USD, I'll buy it. 8096 Palpatine's Shuttle - This seems really cool, so I'll just wait and see what it turns out looking like before I comment about it. 8097 Slave I - Even if it includes a new Jango Fett or Boba Fett minifigure, I probably won't get it. 8098 Clone Turbo Tank - I'll also wait for some preliminary pictures before commenting on this. I was hoping for sets with Cad Bane, droid commandos, and tactical droids for next year, but hopefully the exclusive sets will have them! Edited August 25, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
382nd Legionnaire Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 pray at least, it's a jango slave I. there have been too many Boba Fett's slave I. At least, there's another chance to buy a turbo tank. I missed my chance in 2005. Quote
Legoking Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I was just wondering if anyone knows if the new Slave I is with Jango Fett or Boba Fett? Thanks LegoKing Quote
Commander Flash Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Most likely for ESB anniversary, so it might be Boba's. Otherwise, it might be Jango's, since there isn't a recent one. No one knows yet. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 The only one I am excited about is the Wampa Attack set! Quote
Tyleraf Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I am so glad they are finally redoing the clone turbo tank. I was just looking at my new snail droid and saw such improvements. I can't wait to see the new images. Quote
Tinn-man Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 And these new sets will be released... next August! Hurray, only 365 days until I can have a Wampa to fight my Taun-Taun AND get Jango!!! Unless it's a clone wars Slave I, because Boba is in season 2, right? Plo-Koon Starfighter: Meh... Give us Aylaa if you're going to do another jedi, please. Supreme Chancellor/Ultimate Sith Lord Palpatine's Shuttle: Yes!!! A cheap Palpy set. (Hopefully). Now if we can get Cloud City, next year will be perfect... and I will need a larger LEGO storage space... and money Quote
