LEGO Star Wars 2009 Sets and Rumours

Not necessarily. It would be the thing to assume, but it seems next year we are getting an uproar of episode III sets.

They could all be Clone Wars remakes, but that would be odd. I have a feeling Lego may be re-introducing Episode III sets. It will be the 5 year anniversery!

I'm pretty sure it will be all CW remakes, we saw GG starfighter in CW, so was the droid and Plo, i mean its only 5 years, seems stupid if they do something for the 5th anniversary, but did not one single thing for this year which is 10 years since TPM.

It will come with Boba (obviously) Bossk(new mold), Han, Leia, Vader, and Chewie.

I saw prelims for all the sets without pictures, friend works designing them, let me see pictures of all of the Jan and Aug star wars sets.

A new Bossk mold sounds nice, and I can't really complain about the rest of the figs. I only hope that Han and Leia have their "normal" outfits, and not Hoth again. I've been waiting for a black vested Solo in a cheaper set for a while.

Since you saw the sets, I guess that confirms that these rumors are true. Well, not completely, but... Can you tell us more about the pictures? I don't imagine that you can share the picture with us.

You're right, I can't share the pictures, but dissappointing new (well, to you) it's not black-vested, it's from the sail barge, watch the scenes closely. The Tie Defender was like the 2006(?) tie interceptor with three wings, curved the other way. All the sets are extravagant, (no, i'm not payed to say that) i say buy all (nor am I payed to say that) :) :P

Thanks for the info. I just finished watching the OT, and I remember Han having a white shirt on. At least it's not another Hoth Han, and I'm grateful that this time it's an actual minifig, instead of a printed 2x5 brick (carbonized Han).

Arrhh ... seeing that picture bought back memories of playing Tie Fighter on the PC all those years ago. I hope if the TIE Defender rumour is true then LEGO will give it a good treatment. Its definitely my favourite TIE series craft.

I think Slave 1 with Boba and all those other minifigures will be great. I missed out on all the Slave 1 that has gone before so I look forward to this one.

Interesting news about the preliminary pictures of the sets. So, as I thought, the Slave I will be a 30th anniversary edition. I just hope this is not a bad joke.

He said Bossk, not Dengar! Dengar is meh! I'd love to see Bossk, especially if he has a Rodian style head, I can see it now, the perfect fit, but the same hard texture we get from a minifig head!

I wonder if the Boba could possibly be new? It actually has a good chance because Lego just made the de-tatchable jet pack!

Wow, thanks for the news. That sounds like a lot of unnecessary minifigs, probably just to justify jacking up the price.

In your opinion, is the vehicle an improvement over the 2006 Slave I?

Man, I feel really stupid not bringing a camera to brickfair, but Lego brought a RBR (With minifigs). CPT antiles was in the front, and the back of his head is printed! It has a frowning squigly mouth and he is crying. it kind of looks like this but more rebel-ish: . hope that helped. I might get the RBR just for that!

Thanks for that info, rockinkurt13, and welcome to EB. I hope you are right about all of what you said. It's not surprising to me that they are making a Bossk mold, considering he appears in the CW as well, and they had to put something interesting in this set to make owners of the old versions of this ship buy it. But was Bossk even in Cloud City at the time? Meh, who cares.

The Turbo Tank sounds good. I might actually get it this time around, especially if it comes with Ki Adi Mundi as I suspect.

Any chacne you can give us a little more info about the minifigs in the pics you saw? That would be great!

Well, I'll add in my opinions on this new wave, I know you all care so much!

8093 - Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter-I don't have a Plo minifig, so a cheap set with him would be nice. Also, it's bound to have plenty of dark blue and white parts.

8089 - Wampa Attack-Hopefully this will be priced close to a BP. A new wampa mold would be excellent. A must-buy!

8095 - General Grievous' Starfighter-Meh. I already have the '07 one and I doubt this will be much different. Unless there's something exciting we don't know about, I'll pass on this one.

8096 - Palpatine's Shuttle-Not sure what to make of this one. A cheap Palpy would be great, but depending on what kind of shuttle this is, and the fig selection, I may or may not get this one.

8097 - Slave I-If Rockinhurt is right and this is an OT Boba one, I`m definitely getting it, as I missed the 2006 one. A new Bossk mold would be great.

8098 - Clone Turbo Tank-This is also a must-buy if it comes with plenty of clones and a unique jedi.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this wave, just as I was with the last one. Palpys shuttle and the GG fighter sound blah but, other than that, I'm highly anticipating these.
