Tinn-man Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) I spy a death star trooper coming out of the endor base Plus the rebels have new heads (or at least different than ) The only complaint with this set that I have is that Han has a regular trooper blaster instead of a smaller gun. The Echo Base is still amazing. I love the venator, and will probably end up buying one of those, too. The y-wing, tank, and shuttle are ok, but nothing special, so i'll pass on those. I guess all that we have to wait for now is the mid-scale millinium falcon (if it is real) and Palpy's Arrest and/or Home One. EDIT: Just realized that the Venator is missing the Circle Republic Decoration things on the side of it. It's weird because they were in the other picture of it . Sorry if someone's pointed this out already. Edited January 16, 2009 by Tinn-man Quote
ADHO15 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 It could be the rodian Senator Onaconda Farr, otherwise known as Uncle Ono, from CW episode "Bombad Jedi". I'm pretty sure it is. He was rumoured to be in the set and the picture in the bottom-right corner shows someone in purple with a head the same colour as Greedo's. Nute Gunray and two/three battle droids are also in this picture. There is a pilot droid in the picture above. There doesn't appear to be a cockpit window though. The legs on this picture look pretty good as well. The set is a very good one, in my opinion and have wanted it since rumours began. 259 pieces suggests $30 but it maybe a little more as it contains two unique figs. I like the new NR-N99 Tank Droid but prefer the old design. It looks a lot like the droid in the film/show and I will still buy it anyway. Looks to contain two battle droids and two clone troopers with ordinary 'fuel tanks' on their backs as jetpacks. 216 pieces suggests $20. The Y-Wing doesn't interest me. It has a poor (but expected) fig selection (R2 doesn't even have new head!) and doesn't look very appealing. I will pass on it but I estimate, from 567 pieces, a cost of $50. The Venator looks brilliant and much bigger than it did on the prelim. picture. The fig choice is good but more would have been better. Still no clear pics of the interior so its still guesswork about that. This set is a definite buy for me if I have the money. I estimate $130 from a piece count of about 1169 if I remember correctly. The Echo Base set is a nice small set that should go for $20 for the 155 pieces. This may be higher though, because of the new taun taun which looks great. I prefer the other turret design from the Hoth Rebel Base. The 'trench' is alright and the gun is better than the old one. The Endor set is superb and I will definitely buy it now I've seen pics. The figs are amazing, the bunker is fab, the new AT-ST is great and the bikes are good too. 890 pieces for $90. Just my views on the new sets!!! Quote

I really dislike the y-wing. The pieces I see look so out of place. Also It looks so lunky and it is one of the only star wars sets of this year that has lots of pieces for what we think the price is. Quote
SkyOtic Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Whia! I think I'm going to lose at lot of money this summer.. Quote
ADHO15 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 This looks like it will be the clone's jetpack. Quote
odinson1313 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I couldn't be happier seeing these sets. It seems to me that LEGO is making a huge effort now to include more and more minifigs in each set. The early sets usually had around 3 figures on average, but this Endor set is the third in recent memory with more than 10! I think the figs chosen for each set is just right, but one thing confuses me. Why aren't we getting an Endor Han? I'm thrilled at an Endor Leia and the new colors for the Ewoks, but I would have hoped to see a new design for Han too. That's not to say that I'm not going to get the set of course. I really can't wait for some better pictures of Nute Gunray and Palpatine though. Quote
General Magma Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Wow. I am about to get them all! At the Sep. Shuttle pic I see both Nute Gunray and Onnaconda Farr! I can also see 3 BD's! Edited January 16, 2009 by General Magma Quote
The Penguin Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Well, it seem, gentlemen, that I was quite correct about everything! ) Thank you for the photos! ) I just like them all, especially Tank Droid (look at those eyes! ) and Separatist Shuttle! ) Looks great. Hope that I'll be able to get several tanks and at least two shuttles! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
Motti Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) I am somewhat impressed. This wave seems quite distinct from previous summer waves for some reason. The Y-wing I love, for this is the only "other" version. I'll have to pass on that, unfortunately. I love the Sep. shuttle, although it is too small in my opinion . I hope to reenact the Dooku-captured episode. Hopegully Farr makes a reappearance soon, most likely on Rodia, as his shuttle is featured there. Or is this a scene from the Movie? I hope they add the Open Circle Fleet to the Venator. They might not have it because it's asticker, and they don't have it ready. And as for the ugly dark bley spot on the Venator, that may stay. I also hate the fact that the shuttle is missing its 3 laser cannons, apparently. Edited January 16, 2009 by Motti Quote
LEGOscum Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I spy a death star trooper coming out of the endor base Or is it Lt "Freeze, you Rebel scum" Renz? Quote
Motti Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Or is it Lt "Freeze, you Rebel scum" Renz? No, he was not a DS trooper. he was a black-tunic officer. If he were an officer, he should have that outfit with Juno's cap. It seems to be your generic DS trooper. Quote
Derek Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I think that is Onaconda Farr in the Sep. Shuttle. I think its great when TLC put him in there when they didn't have to. Just another use for the Greedo head. I will probably get that set, as well as the other two $20 (Tank and Hoth) sized sets. I'm really trying to cut back, as I am slowly running out of space. The other ones look great though. Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) This looks like it will be the clone's jetpack. No, i'm pretty sure , looking at the pics that, that they are jango fets without the head. Edited January 16, 2009 by The crazy one Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 My thoughts on these pictures: Tank Droid: Oh my God, it's beautiful! I love it! It looks exactly like the actual thing too! Though I can't tell what the jetpacks are, this swet is great! Venator: Looking good enough for me, you can see there's a fair enough size from the bottom, Palpy looks great, you can see the bombs, and even though the senate commandos are just blue clones, I still think they look awesome. Though if TLG accidentally gives them Clone Faces.... Anakin's Y-wing: Oh the sheer horror! I was wrong about R2, the shape is odd, and it just doesn't look at all like it has any features. I still will be getting this though, considering this is an important CW ship. Neimiodian Shuttle: Blast these blurry pics, but from what I can see, this is an amazing masterpiece. About Onocadda Farr, I hate to say it but I was totally right! The four legged feature is there, as I expected, and there's interior! Quote
Natman8000 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 No, i'm pretty sure , looking at the pics that, that they are jango fets without the head. Naw, they really are the classic space jet packs. Would have liked a new mold, but they serve their purpose. Quote

It seems to be your generic DS trooper. You are right. He also has a chine strap painted on his face. A Renz would have been nice. Barrie Holland would have been over the moon to have a Gentle Giant bust, a Hasbro 3-3/4" figure and a LEGO minifig in one year. Love the Wicket in the bottom right corner. Quote
The Rancor Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I wonder why the person who posted those pics on the internet didn't post Space Police confidentials as well I think I'll already be bankrupt by June or July, but I might be able to squeeze in the smaller sets and the Battle Of Endor. I'll guestimate the prices... Echo Base / Corporate Alliance Droid: £14.99 -£19.99 Separatist Shuttle (no, I don't care what the proper name for it is): £29.99 Y-Wing ( ) : £39.99 Venator Attack Ship / The Battle of Endor ( ): £69.99-£89.99 All in all (excluding the Y-Wing ) good sets!
