Darth Legolas Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Maybe its Lok Turd in Gunrays clothes...Its absolutely Gunray, TLC isnt that inaccurate to add random people in sets What's Palpatine doing on the Venator then? Quote
Commander Flash Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Maybe he will be on a venator in an upcoming episode... Quote
Bob Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Maybe its Lok Turd in Gunrays clothes...Its absolutely Gunray, TLC isnt that inaccurate to add random people in sets Who is this Lok Turd? I've only heard of Lok Durd. Sorry, couldn't help myself. Anyway, Palpatine was on a Venator in the beginning of the Clone Wars Movie for like...5 seconds. When the narrator talks and they show pictures of past/upcoming episodes, or the actual episode shots and scenes. Besides, since I think it's Home One and not his office, they had to use the design they made for him somehow. Possibly he will be on one in a later episode, but, you never know. Quote
ADHO15 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Well, one of my reason's is that's definitely not Nute's hat OR face, and those two things match Durd perfectly, plus PT fans that hate CW would get mad if the only Gunray was CW.I'm not saying it obviously should be Lok, and in fact, Gunray would go 10 times better with the set, but, as said famously, "Hat's make the Neimidoians."Have you ever seen a Neimiodian without their special hat? And that's Lok's hat! Oh really. Which hat looks closer to the fig on this pic? Nute Gunray or Lok Durd Also, Palpatine was probably put in the Venator with his Senate Commandos because it sounds like Home One one the vote and so they included these figs in the Venator. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Maybe he will be on a venator in an upcoming episode... Uhh.. no. Seriously, Palpatine doesn't need Venators. He has his own little evil office. But ADHO15's got me. Oh really. Which hat looks closer to the fig on this pic?Nute Gunray or Lok Durd Also, Palpatine was probably put in the Venator with his Senate Commandos because it sounds like Home One one the vote and so they included these figs in the Venator. Bah, I guess you're right. Palpatine will never be on the Venator, but I guess Gunray will be in this set. His hat is very malformed in Lego though. Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I think Palpatine is in the Venator cause he was supossed to be in Palpatines arrest but it got low votes so they chose to put him in the Venator Quote
SWMAN Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I think Palpatine is in the Venator cause he was supossed to be in Palpatines arrest but it got low votes so they chose to put him in the Venator That is probably a fair guess. But, Palpatines Arrest was going to be in the normal design, not the Clone Wars design. They couldn't have used the same figure, but I am guessing that the fact that we haven't had a Palpatine yet and that the set voted on was shot down probably contributed to the figure in the set. CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Hey I found that the TX 130, Droid Gunship and Homing Spider Droid are designed to be in the Lego Star Wars Comics, not just the Clone Wars. Although these sets may have been in other movies they were meant to be in the Clone Wars, because the Prequal Triliogy has been replaced for the meantime. So that doesn't mean that Lego has to be minifig accurate. Besides if they were we wouldn't have gotten a Plo Koon in th RAG and we might not get an Aayla Secura. Quote
starstreak Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 A little OT, but I find it funny that George Takai is the voice of Lok Durd in the CW cartoon. Lol. Star Trek meets Star Wars. I would've never had known if I wasn't building Lego with my son and when I wasn't looking at the tv, I kept hearing Zulu's voice on tv and it was Lok Durd. Hehe Quote
Flesh Skywalker Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Oh really. Which hat looks closer to the fig on this pic? Right, we all know how TLG stives for accuracy when making their minifigures. Sometimes I can't tell the difference. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 (edited) I think it's odd that Lego would take back the back-open ramp on the Separatist Shuttle. But from the looks of the [icture it definitely seems to me like the set is incomplete, and whoever built it didn't finish before it went on display. EDIT: My suspicions are confirmed. The landing gear is missing a leg! Edited January 30, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote

The landing gear is missing a leg! Thank god! When I saw that picture, I thought how sloppy and missing the model was compared to the picture. i really hate it when sets are on display and they are incorrectly built and messed up. Quote

SWMAN Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I think everybody is focusing too much on the released pictures. They are preliminary. I think that Lego wants to be accurate in the design of the figures, but they also want to offer the best configuration to sell the most sets. Quote
KimT Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 I've updated the first post. I've tried to "catch" all the new pics, feel free to post any I missed Looks like som of us guessed right about that Tauntaun. Quote
Legoman Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Well the Y-wing has 570 peices not 567 And you should prehaps put up pics of the Ventor. They are allowed now. Quote
KimT Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 Well the Y-wing has 570 peices not 567 Not in the first prelim pictures which you obviously didn't see. And no, I haven't gotten around to fixing/updating the info beneath the pics. Quote

Legoman Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 OK - thanks for clearing that up. So what about pics of the Ventor? Quote
KimT Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 OK - thanks for clearing that up.So what about pics of the Ventor? Will do. Tomorrow, now I have to sleep. I've just gotten back from a week of skiing with my pupils and I'm kinda beat. I just need to confirm which "prelims" I am allowed to use, before I can shove them into the first post. Quote
Legoman Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Oh right... Time Zones - kinda forgot Fair enough. I really can't wait for hoth Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) I have a feeling that the Jetpacks won't be square and pathetic, even though the box shows it. Why? Well, we confirmed that the box picture of the Endor battle from the CA toyfair is older than the old pictures we have, and the entire content was different so it's likely to be the same with the Snail Tank. I mean, why would they plan on making a brilliant new mold and trash it anyway? See, I'd like it if the pictures at that toyfair also showed the Venator out of the box and Snail Tank aswell. P.S. Is there anyone here at all who works in Lego and knows which pictures are newer and which are older? Or at least clear up the jetpack, and open circle fleet mysteries? EDIT: London toyfair tomorrow! I wonder if there;ll be pictures! And hopefully, of the Venator! Thoguh I know nothing about the toyfairs anywhere but in sweet home America. Edited January 31, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
smiley905 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 is it just me or does it look like ashokas head is sticking out the top of the y-wing? Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 is it just me or does it look like ashokas head is sticking out the top of the y-wing? There's no bubble as of the current moment. They will put one in though, hopefully. Notice the word I made noticeable. Quote
