Darth Legolas Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I checked on a clearer pic, sorry , it isnt a new mold , just a new face patern.P.S , congrats on becoming a knight. Hey thanks! But where is the picture with a face? Or is it confidential? Or am I confused? I'm not to bothered by the minifig count. I know you guys were all looking forward to an amazing set all around, but I think the ship is pretty good enough for me, so I'll be picking up one of these. Side note: I really don't want to see Palpatine's CW face. His gray old wrinkly OT zombie face might look better! Quote

Sir von Lego Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Hi there, the Venator won't have too much interior. I remember that there are a few spaces to hold weapons, a few seats. I didn't see the bridge. BTW, Palpatine's face is very ugly... We will get Palpatine, Clone Gunner, Clone Pilot, and the two Senats Clones. Quote
The Rancor Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 We will get Palpatine, Clone Gunner, Clone Pilot, and the two Senats Clones. Good. I hoped to get at least one pilot in the Venator - otherwise it wouldn't make sense. I Commandos/guards Palpatine's face shouldn't be that ugly - he hasn't been burnt by his own force lightning yet! Five figures and just a little space to hold weapons? ~total incomprehension~ 'Bricks' Quote

Commander Flash Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Does it have a big gaping hole in the middle like the ISD or no? And can it be emptied out so i can add features? Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) Thank you very much Sir Von Lego. I appreciate it! To the Crazy one: If it's on brickshelf, you can give us the member's name and we can find the picture! I think Palpy will have Dooku hair, since it's a perfect match. Maaaaybe in yellow. EDIT: Since all of the pics of the Venator we've seen are box only, in one of the newer pics, you can see very clearly, that athough the front flap lifts up, so there's interior there, there are still technic axels beneath the non-opening part, so it looks like there may be an escape pod after all, and interior! Derek Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I think Palpy will have Dooku hair, since it's a perfect match. Maaaaybe in yellow. Proooobably not. At least, I doubt it. It is gray in the series, and I think that it will look best in that color. (Does it seem like I'm a pessimist? It seems like a lot of my posts say "I doubt" or "Probably not" ) Quote
The Crazy One Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) Oh , well if i am allowed to post his name , here it is : cyberenderer Hope that helps you Darth Legolas. They are obviously preliminary , but it looks like the design hasn't changed over any of the designs so i trust it. I have to say , i am quite worried about Palpy's face , i hope it looks okay. The Who Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Just looked at the really big Venator pic in cyberenderer's folder, and I noticed something weird. On the Senate Commando's (I think they are called that), the lower mouth of the helmet extends down further than on the clone troopers. Maybe that's a new mold? Quote

Zzz Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Can a visitor from the toy fair tell me please if the Y-Wing has landing gear? And thank you guys so far for all the info!! Oh and I keep my fingers crossed for getting Palpy in a magnet set or so please lego... Quote
The Who Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 No, well , i highly doubt it , i think its just a different print. I don't mean the print, I meant the actual helmet itself looks like it extends down just a bit. There's no mouth print anyway. Quote

Oh my God, your right , that is a new mold , it is slightly lower , you're eyes are amazing to notice that. Forget what i said , that looks like a new mold! Corvus Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Nope, sorry, guys, it's the same mold. It just looks wierd without the mouth printing. Quote

Don't be so sure , i just looked , it does look like a new mold , but then again, why would Lego create a new mold if the difference is so slight. Im confused. Quote

Forget what i said , that looks like a new mold! Well, at least I know my contacts are working well. Also, the standard trooper has a stormie torso. And not to point every single detail, but, the commando's fins in the helmets look to be further back on the helmet also. I don't think I'll even start pointing out the other sets... EDIT: Apparently I type really slow, that or I think too slow to try to read what I'm thinking... EDIT again: That might be a temporary thing to represent a new mold? Klaus-Dieter Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) Hi,today I visited the german Toyfair in Nuernberg. I was quite excited when I entered the LEGO place, but confused when I saw only 50% of the announced new Star Wars Sets. I found out: [...] The chrome black Darth Vader will be a giveaway for Kaufhof/ Toys R Us for Summer releases [...] Endor is just beautiful!! You can push the radar dishes on the top and all walls will "explode" and fall off. The AT-ST has a walking function and can turn his head. The Endor rebels will have excellent torsos with detailed printing. Also, they will get new molds for their helmets (with printed visor on the top). Thats it for Star Wars, all other sets weren't there.. greetings Hendrik Thank you very much for this information, Sir von Lego! This means that we then very early in August have to go to Kaufhof in order to get one chrome black Darth Vader since these giveaways are surely very limited. The details you mentioned on the Endor set still make me wanting to buy it much more! An exploding function is great (although I'm an AFOL )! And it seems as if TLG learned something: The AT-ST can not only walk or turn its head - but now can both! Echo Base: 26,99€Tank Droid: 26,99€ Battle of Endor: 99,99€ Venator: 149,99€ Y-wing: 69,99€ Separatists Shuttle: 36,99€ And thank you very much for the price information, Sir von Lego! The Echo Base and the Endor set aren't cheap - but I think that their prices are ok. Mainly for the awsome Endor set with its great bunker and its many brilliant minifigs - - I think 100 Euros is arguable! Klaus-Dieter Edited February 8, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

Darth Legolas Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 The helmet, it might just be the different printing, but Booger540 may be right. The lip looks a lot lower and the fin starts back, but maybe it's just the same old more noticable on the solid blue with new printing. Quote

Sometimes the same mold may look different or distorted when in another color, and/or with no printing. Quote
Corvus Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I don't get why they'd make a whole different mold for such a minor change if it was, though. Why not make a proper Senate Commando helmet? The fin on top appears to be cut to me. Quote

What's the point of a new mold if it has to be pointed out to you that it's new? Quote
