CloneMe Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 The new senate commandos from what I can see are the same mold just different print. The only thing different about the mold is the little fin thing on top. Its different. Quote
smiley905 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 yesh the senate comandos look real cool, but i do wish they had new peices Quote
ROCON Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 No offense and sorry but, can we end the Commando stuff and summer-autumn sets talk, I mean c'mon, we know that the snail tank is going to be small and have several droids and "2" jet troopers. The shuttle is gonna have 5 figures, as for the Y- wing, there's not much comotion about this one, and the Venator, I think enough has been said in the last two pages about it's small room and odd characters. This isn't against anyone it's just that there are a few more sets out there that could deserve a bit more. Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Wait, do you think we will get speederbikes with the Venator. Hopefully Jetpacks on racks so you could reanact the part on Clone Wars (old series) how Sassee Tinn and a battalion of clones swarmed a CIS Frigate. So if this topic does end when do we start on the '2010 picture and rumour topic' and when do we starting getting the rumours, because I'm convinced that the rumours we usually hear are correct or are minorly wrong. The Rumour we had earlier last year wasn't far off, was it? Quote
Sir von Lego Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Y-wing and Snail Tank: The Y-wing will include a weapon shooting function (these ugly big technic thing). You have to push R2D2 down to start the function. I think it is nothing interesting here to tell about the Y-wing. I cannot remember if it has a landing function, but it would make sense. One more thing: It isn't that ugly than I thought it would be. It is nearly the same with 7656 Grievous Fighter and 7663 Sith Infiltrator. When I first saw the sets, I didn't want them but after you built them they seem to be nice. Snail Tank: Nothing special here, nearly the same functions like the old version had. greetings Hendrik Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 So if this topic does end when do we start on the '2010 picture and rumour topic' and when do we starting getting the rumours, because I'm convinced that the rumours we usually hear are correct or are minorly wrong. The Rumour we had earlier last year wasn't far off, was it? I think that last year we got rumours about this year's February SW sets in about the end of July (and after my knowledge only one of the rumours was wrong) - so there is about half a year to wait! But there will be the Home One set, the MF, the Pirate Tank and surely even a UCS set and maybe even a bigger vehicle (a Tantive 4 would be so - but after the Venator I highly doubt that we'll get one this year) about which we haven't got any infomation yet. I know that it's really not so much fun to have to wait that long - but it's like that. So we'll have to wait. Klaus-Dieter Quote
ADHO15 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Great, thanks! ) But could anyone, please, tell me about those old version functions? Since I don't have the set....Thanks! ) The one in the Wookiee Attack had a track that ran round the body of the droid that turned on rough surfaces (it just slid across wood). Also, the disks rotated backwards to reveal a seat for a battle droid inside. Nothing too special really. Hope this helped! Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Wait we forgot about Pirate tank! Wait I know I think this set might be a special edition set because of the pirates! and the pictures aren't here yet like the special edition Twilight and Seperatist Spider droid pictures which were released late in 2008. Home One hangar or something could also be a special edition! Edited February 9, 2009 by CommanderCody77 Quote

Indeed, it was! ) Thank you very much, ADHO15! ) Well, I hope there'll be no space for BD inside this one. Because, I as far as I know, tank droids have their own droid brain. Like Droid Gunships. Still, LEGO managed to put a battle droid even there! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
Millacol88 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Meh. I really wouldn't mind it if they stuck a driver in there. As long as the exteriors accurate. Quote
The Penguin Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Indeed so. ) And the exterior looks great now, in my mind. Plus to a good price. Way to go, TLC! ) Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Without some sort of cockpit the snail droid will be a pretty pointless set ...remember the old Halifire droid? Quote

ADHO15 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Without some sort of cockpit the snail droid will be a pretty pointless set...remember the old Halifire droid? I sort of agree. I think it is a basic set and some playability function would help it sell better (even if it is just flick-fire missiles). The 'premake' set included a spider droid and a Wookiee ornithopter as well. Quote
The Rancor Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I think Lego should try and go back to their Viking idea for missiles (which is used in the Republic Shuttle). When I say Viking idea, I mean missiles that fire rapidly without having to 'flick' them. This system is far more effective, but it could only really be implemented into certain sets. Besides this, I had another look at the Separatist Shuttle and saw how many figures it has for £30 (a guess). I am very keen to have a 'Greedo' alien type minifigure (yes, I know is Onacian Farr, or something) and the other guy Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Pardon, but why? ) ....So? ) Well off the top of my head - seeing as this is a CHILDS toy um...playability? Quote
The Penguin Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Well off the top of my head - seeing as this is a CHILDS toyum...playability? Well, I don't really think that the function of putting battle droid in a Tank droid will add to playability greatly. ) Look at the same sized/priced Hailfire and Spider droid set. ) No clones, no playability, but a great set, nevertheless! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote

It's a Tank Droid, not just a tank. It can steer itself. Quote

Thanks again Sir von Lego! As a collector I would buy the Y-wing anyway, but it's far more satisfying when it's actually a nice set. And finally a chance to buy a Snail Tank. ...But there will be the Home One set, the MF, the Pirate Tank... Hopefully they will be on the upcoming Toyfair, so we'll hear about them. I am a bit shocked to hear that since it is the 2nd time (after the AT-TE) in the CW series and I really hoped they dropped this concept for better looking models... also it would be not that well integrated in the design but below the ship (like in the N-1 2nd version) - what looks strange. But it is LEgo and I can just let it away. It is a bit pricy but overall I guess I am going to get it! Quote
Patriot720 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Do we know if the pirate tank will be at Toy fair(usa)? I'm just curious because we don't really know that much about it and I'd like to see pictures.. Quote
