Darth Legolas Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Well, the Y-Wing was $40, Darth Legolas, and the CW Y-Wing is rumored $50... and neither are much bigger than the V-Wing, which was only $10... it's all about the details... and the figs, of course. New Nemodian and Rodian head molds must cost a lot, plus the ship itself, and any extras. Of course, this is all speculation and we won't know for sure for a while. The Rodian head would be costly, but it's not new, and as for the Neimiodian head, I'm sure they'll just use a regular Lego minifig head with a few inked details. It's not worth making a new head mold for a near-human species. Quote
Legoman Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) I'm really looking forward to Endor and Hoth. (Drool over tauntaun) I'll get the Mon Cal Crusier, I'm hoping it turns out OK... I still regret not buying a few hoth bases instead of just one... Penguin, did you see any pics of hoth? Edited January 1, 2009 by legoman Quote
Motti Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 The shuttleThis set will be my first non-battle pack multiple buy! Probably $30? Venator Well, if there where anymore minifigs I'm sure that the price would be a bit too high... Tank droid Sounds great.... Did the jet troopers have any special colorations on them? Endor I will pass... Too much money for a combo of already released sets... I myself am definitely getting the Sep shuttle no matter how ugly it is. I'm going to force myself to pass on the other sets but I will choose between the Venator or the Mon Cal. All of the sources I've seen put the price at 30 dollars. You're right, though. I am always willing to pay more for quality. The feature I look most for in vehicles is interior space. That's whay I didn't buy the new Republic shuttle but absolutely loveds the minifig ISD, even though I love shuttles/transoprts. It's not worth making a new head mold for a near-human species. Yeah, but look at what they did to Squidward. The first sets had him with a regular head with ink but later made a new mould for his head. I hope a new head is made. But maybe they were pressured into making the mould because all of the other characters had special parts (as far as I know). Quote

I thought they had a digital copy on Lugnet for free! Maybe they changed it. The Brick Journal sells for 15 dollars at my local Lego store (rip off). And I am nearly certain they will not use any of the moulds from Spongebob sets because of the copyright probelms accompanying that. (i.e. not legal). When's the last time you saw a SW piece used in other sets? Not that they have much of a use for them. Quote

NerdFighter Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 That was answered, only a few posts back from yours. Is it that hard to read? Sorry. I actually have read the entire thread, but wasn't aware that my question had been answered. Anyway, I sure hope that the Sep Shuttle is relatively inexpensive because I would love a Rodian head, even if they use the same mold as Greedo. That was a good figure that I wish I had. Quote

If you're American, the price is 30 dollars. 257 pieces total, but that may change slightly. I forgot the price in euros. I personally wouldn't want that Rodian. He's not even a separatist (he betrayed Gnray in the series then sort of went back by bribing people in favour of the Seps). Furthermore, it's not Onaconda Farr's ship. Maybe another Neimoidian like Rune Haako (his top aide)even though he did not appear in the series, but if the head is a mould, then obviously only one neimoidian will be created. I hope the BDs included are pilot droids with blue paint on the back like they did in 2000 insteadof the unpainted ones from the MTT (along with the security droids). Quote

Motti Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 http://legostarwars.wikia.com/wiki/8036_Separatist_Shuttle is one source. There are at least 2 other more reliable sources I had.(Google it) Most of the new sets have their piece count confirmed. Nothing else much besides price. Quote

ROCON Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I'm not sure if this request has been asked before (or if he could) ,but Penguin if its not too much to ask for but can you take pictures of the priliminary sets. I would really appreciate it (and I'm sure others would) and people could start talking about the pics. :) Quote
Natman8000 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 He cant take pictures of the premlin pics because you are not allowed to do that. they are more or less confidential between the catalog owners and lego. Quote
Motti Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I don't call wiki reliable.Whatever though. Can we ban Wiki from being refured too? Seriously though... It's never right... I don't trust it much either. But they are sometimes reliable. It was the first source (I think ) to list Sandy 's Rocket (from Spongebob) but it was correct. I also said there were other reliable sources of info. But I'm digressing. If the solar sailer's piece count is 385, and it's more expensive than the Sep shuttle and at 257 pieces, then it must be quite small , even though the Penguin himself said that it looked excellent. We'll see about that, hopefully this month. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) You can never fully trust wikipedia, but I am all for $30 and 257-75 whatever pieces. I'm pretty dang sure that they'll do that. As for reusing pieces from licenses and lalala, the truth is, Lego can reuse whatever. I doubt the squidward head will appear outside of spongebob, and they probably changed it because the old inked head bites dust. Also, Lego can do whatever with pieces, because it is THEIR pieces, and not the Star Wars Nickelodeon. They can use R2 heads wherever, but it's not like they'll put Plo Koon's head in a Castle set! (Nor a Jedi robe, I'm pretty sure...) I can assure you they will not put Squidwards new head in Space Police. That would probably be the worst marketing move in history. The point is, Lego can use Indy's Hat in other categories, because it is, "just a hat." What they CAN'T do, is put Indy himself in another set, you see where I'm going? They've use lightsabers in Harry potter, as those translucent wands in Hermione's dorm, and they've used the JSF piece in Indy Jones! So if you mosh all that up together it means this: The Neimiodian Shuttle is definitely $40 or less, and will never be more than that. (Unless the economy explodes.) And they probably won't use a new mold for a Neimidoian head, which is about as close to human as an alien species can get! EDIT: I'm probably the newest person here, but even I know better then to ask for pics! Come on guys, you wanna send a guy to jail for a couple of lousy shots of stuff you only have to wait a few weeks before legal pictures come out? EDIT (Again!): Another example, Batman and Castle, with the Jester hat! Edited January 1, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
djmangunz Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) 2Darth LegolasOh, I forgot about it. ) Indeed, it was there. ) But it seemed just like the rebel one. Nothing special. ) The Venator picture is quite small there, so I couldn't study it carefully. It seems to be smaller than ISD, I'm afraid.... Clones on venator seem to be generic. No special markings on them. No commanders. The Endor set does include rebel soldiers, though I don't remember if those are heroes or just some rebels. ) No, I didn't see the pirate tank. Hmmm, I'll check it.... Gentlemen, if the person who showed me the catalog will be kind enough to give me it once again, I shall be able to answer all your questions! ) Thank you much for the information, The Penguin. Klaus-Dieter Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) Well, gentlemen! ) Today i managed to have a look at the new Trade Catalogue of 2009! ) So, what can I say? ) The sets are awesome! ) [...] Endor. The bunker. Smaller version of AT-ST (looks awesome!). 2 ewoks, 2 scout troopers, Han, Leia, death Star trooper. Will be a limited edition, exclusive set. Any questions, while I still remember? ) Thank you very much for that news, The Penguin! I have a question: So there are not R2-D2, Chewbacca and two Endor Rebel Troopers included in the Endor set - only Han, Leia, 2 Scout Troopers, 2 different Ewoks and a DS Trooper?! Btw: I wish you all a happy new year! I hope that you all are and will stay healthy, are going to design as excellent MOCs like before and will have enough money to buy all Lego sets you want to own!
