Skipper 24 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Besides if you tried to flick them I am pretty sure you a) would smash your fingers trying to hit the little blighters and b) would knock the entire wing section off as you get so furious from missing you flick too hard. Well maybe a slight exaggeration but those missiles are gong to be hard to hit, not a very good playability idea there LEGO. Quote

I find this happens a lot too but if you look here, it looks like there's something that fires them all from the back. Also, it shows how the walker attaches to the dropship. Quote
Razzer Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 The price was on when I looked this morning. I'm pleased about it. I thought it would be £175 to £200. Same, this set is quite a good deal (in the UK at least) and to me it seems that all recently released sets here are getting cheaper (at least the economic crisis and falling exchange rate of the pound is good for something ). Lots of people on Flickr find the A-wing ugly but I think it looks better and more detailed than the (already excellant) previous version. And on Flick-fire, we all know there not Lego's best idea but it lets them pretend to have an extra play feature and on some sets, the RGS at least they look quite good anyway Quote
funnystuff Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Hey guys I was just wondering, is the toy fair still going on? and also if it is are we gonna be seeing more pics of the new sets? (falcon, pirate tank etc.) Thanks in advance. Quote
jifel Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Although there are many great sets, the best year for lego I have seen, I think I will get the ATTE, ATOT/Dropship, and as many corporatealliance tanks and spider droids as I can, plus maybe some hailfire and dwarf spider droids, for some slight oppositition, jedi, and more clones to fill the beast. jifel Quote

(falcon, pirate tank etc.) Thanks in advance. It's going to be a while before they're released. The Italian who scanned the images better start running I guess we've seen the Star Wars sets to come until Summer. The Pirate Tank and the mid-scale MF belong to the Winter-wave of sets. Also a little side-note on reposting stuff that's been previously posted. You're more than welcome to check the closed news topic which is also pinned before posting news here. Chances are that if there's something new, then I'll have it posted there. So as a general rule, if it's not there, then post it. - Unless it's preliminary/illegal pics, then you shouldn't post (deeplink) them at all. Hoah? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Just to completely firm up how the AT-OT attaches, and all sorts of other play features, watch these videos of the sets in action demonstrated at Toy Fair: http://www.flickr.com/photos/countblockula...57613954405460/ (I haven't seen these posted here already) Quote

That vid of the connection on the ATOT and Dropship looks so easy. The demonstrator practically dropped the dropship onto the ATOT and it just connected on with those dishes like suction cups. Looks like a secure connection that won't come undone - and it can be used with the ATTE. It's a good thing that the dropship has a handle, becuase that looks heavy! Can't wait for March the 30th becuase I think I can just about afford it! Quote
vulture droid Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 My opinion on the new sets- 8039 Venator- Wonderful! by adding the handle, lego has apparently learned their lesson from 6211 (star destroyer)- You can't pick up a heavy set with a single layered base on the bottom of the ship! 7749 Hoth- Nothing too special, however an OT-era medium sized battlepack is nice. Why do people want Taun-Tauns so much? 7754 Home One- Finally Ackbar and Mothma! and a different colored A-Wing! 8036 Shuttle- Bigger than I expected, and if the box is more up to date than the display, then we get a blue pilot droid! 8037 Y-wing- Too yellow, no special figs, and no landing gear 8038 Endor- Beautiful, i see lots of playibility in this set, and an at-st that actually walks? beautiful 7748 Tank Droid- The tank is overpriced and to short, but new! jetpack molds!, and the launcher reminds me of the early star wars sets. Oswald the Rabbit Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 ^ I think the proper question is why aren't you interested in a tauntaun. Next we need a rancor, a bantha and a wampa. Quote

I use the old Adventures Yeti for a wampa and the old Rock Monster for the Rancor, but the Rancor is a little downscaled. Quote
ILikePi Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 So, does the Separatist's Shuttle set include 2 battle droids and 1 droid pilot? Quote

Commander Flash Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 The At-Ot and Laat/c are awesome, and I hope Lego pulls off another last minute set for fall. A ucs Jabbas palace would be great. Rancor!!! Quote

Natman8000 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I love how they incorporated opening doors on the shuttle and didnt downscale it. I also like the 'popping' function on the hoth base. Quote
