JimBee Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Out in the new Toy Fare April 2009 magazine has a pic of the New up coming SW Lego "Mon Calamari Star Cruiser LEGO set" This set was the one of the winners in the Lego SW Lego Fan 2008 poll. Thanks for the pictures, but this honestly doesn't look all that spectacular. Sure the figures are great, and the green A-Wing is a nice touch, but there's not much else to it. At least the OT fans are happy, though. And did you say one of the winners?! Meaning that the Palply's Arrest set still has a chance?! Perhaps it is still part of a larger vessel, this is why there are large technic pins below the hangar, to slide this part in and out of the ship. That would be one huge ship... Pirate Tank and Falcon pics at: Falcon and Tank Thanks very much. The Pirate Tank looks... pretty good, and this is a nice, cheap way for getting Obi-Wan. I can't say much else, but the price is a little much. The Falcon is pretty much what I expected, but I can't help but to notice that it's so small. It would make a nice addition to my collection (granted that I don't have any other version), I suppose. Im pretty sure the set will be $50, chief. I agree. Have you all seen this yet? A new secret set shown at the Toy Fair!http://www.flickr.com/photos/brickjournal/...335230/sizes/l/ I haven't seen anyone post this link here in the last couple pages. If this is confidential and I'm not allowed to post it I'm really sorry. Wow. What an amazing set, TLG has truly given the fans exactly what they've wanted. The stickers are great, and the back of the box shows an alternate decal very similar to Rayman's stickers: http://www.flickr.com/photos/-chuckc-/3285418527/ http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3517/328133..._53329205f6.jpg Looks like Darth Legolas was right- this was the newer version. I can't say that I like it much; it's very small. Ah, well, that's more money towards the LAAT/c and AT-OT. http://photos.sirstevesguide.com/data/5754/TOY_0570.JPGAs well as new gun and death star hologram I'm going to have nightmares... I think the gun is just the regular old blaster rifle. Separatist shuttle:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3137/328075..._8c18891535.jpg This looks great. Very small and swooshabe. - Dropship also combines with 7675 AT-TE Walker That's the first question I was going to ask when I saw the pictures. Great going, TLG. More stuff:R2 finally has a CW print of him. http://photos.sirstevesguide.com/data/5754/TOY_0354.JPG There isn't much of a difference here to me. We all have a truckload of R2's, another (slightly different) one isn't a big deal, but it's nice to see more and more prints and molds. Jet troopers have the fett style jet packshttp://photos.sirstevesguide.com/data/5754/TOY_0361.JPG Excellent. I've always found that jetpack attractive, and now we have it separate from the Boba/ Jango helmet. I can see some paint jobs on these in the future. Which gives a total of about $784.90 all the sets listed above. I'd better stop this crazy hobby and get a car. And I have to say that I like Mon Mothma's new hairstyle; when did she go emo? EDIT: After seeing those videos on Flickr, I am speechless towards the amount of playability of these sets. The A-Wing spinning and the the doors of the Sep. Shuttle, for example, move so smoothly. This is a whole new era for Star Wars sets. Quote
Bricklanta Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 It could be the blaster fire of the AT-ATs... Poor chaps. That's probably what it is haha ! Are there any other Toy Fair coverage videos? Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! I'm sorry! I can't stand it! My wallet... it is going bare and empty! The venator is perfect, new molded masks for the Commandos, Palpy has good hair (ugly face,) DEATH STAR PLANS... but the AT-OT and Dropship set... where did this come from? I'm going to be a hobo after this! A hobo! It's amazing! Edited February 17, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote

We're getting a tauntaun and an admiral ackbar minifig! Quote
Ruin Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Sadly prior to the newly released set (AT-OT Drop Ship combo) I was planning on not buying anything but the Endor Playset and the Hoth Battle Pack but when I saw the dropship I knew it was a must. After seeing the others, I don't know, I've been pulled back in and my wallet is going to get hit by a train. Good thing I have a job, not to say though that the money would have been towards my car.. Damn, and the Venator looks hot too. Quote
Corvus Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 It's funny how the AT-OT 'releases with the push of a switch.' I can imagine some serious accidents caused with that. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Are there any other Toy Fair coverage videos? Other as in, not Star Wars? Or just other Star Wars sets? Follow the link above and look around in the photostream, you'll find a bunch of the Star Wars sets and of other themes. Quote

ILikePi Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) Ah...after watching all of countblockula's videos, I want so many of those soon-to-be-released-sets Too bad I'll never be able to get most of them I dunno why the guy taking the videos didn't show some of the other parts of some sets (like Venice Canal Chase) I added every video to my favorites for no reason Edited February 17, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I can't tell from the pics, but do the Endor rebels have the same torso? Man, I really hope they come out with an Endor rebel battle pack! Quote
ILikePi Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Yeah, they have the same torso. Look at this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/no_onions/328...57613819221413/ WARNING: It's a hella big picture Quote

ILikePi Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) Just what I wanted to see. Thanks! No problem. The Endor rebel's don't have Smiley faces! Woohoo!!! Excellent! You can see all the set's i'll be buying in my sig. I just don't understand why Echo Base has smiley faces if Endor doesn't. Probably because Endor Battle is more expensive... Oswald the Rabbit Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Well the Rebels on Endor mostly had beards so I see the reasoning there. As for the Hoth rebels they could have gotten mustaches or something besides thge generic smiley Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) I too am speechless. I have 3 each of the AT-TE and RGS sets, with the intention of converting the third of each into a dropship. This though makes that a moot point. I love the sets being released, but this one blew me away. It is listed at S@H already, though without pricing for us Aussies. I think I will pay a heap for it!http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...n=520&d=322 Attually it's $400 but the AT-OT is not that great (don't get angry). The Dropship rocks. The AT-OT is all right (I love the side turrets that can be manned by the troops. JUST ONE PROBLEM-WHERE THE HELL WILL I GET THE MONEY FOR IT! Although I do have an almost full money tin that should be full soon with $600! YAY LEGO SPLURGE! Well, I guess, it will be altered prior to the release. ) For instance, I do hope that they change that send-that-clone-flying device, as well as add some dark blue confederate colors to the Droid. But I guess, it's highly unlikely.... ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Any more pieces are good pieces-just don't build it. ALL I CARE ABOUT ARE THE Hoth set, Endor, Tank Droid and 10195! The Penguin Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Any more pieces are good pieces-just don't build it. I can't agree here, unfortunately, my friend. ) More useless pieces means higher price. Plus to that, (well, I do not play with LEGO sets, I consider it to be an aesthetic thing, first of all) by adding that ghastly looking thing it really makes the set look worse. But, even if we stick to some particular piece count, they could have used them to upgrade the Tank Droid itself. ) Say, make it a bit longer.... Still, I'm not grumbling: the set is superb! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote

Captain REX Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 yah whats up with that. well done your first post and your already taking a break. No wait your smiley 905 arent you? Hate to mini-mod but if you take a break dont get another account because the mods will find out and that will just make it worse for yourself. Back on topic on count blockulas flickr page where are the rest of the videos? Theres still about 2 more space police sets. I only see 2 indy sets. Hes only done 1 castle set and agents set.
