The Penguin Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) With all my respect, gentlemen, I suggest we should discuss the quality, design and features of the set, not it's price. ) For instance, I do not find flick-fire missiles disturbing is SW sets, really. ) You can always take it away and pretend that it had beed blasted off. I must say, it works very nice with, say, AAT. ) I guess here, the situation is the same. ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Edited February 18, 2009 by The Penguin Quote
Derek Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I've heard that the Snail Tank is only 24.99 thats a very cheap price for Lego to make since they've overpriced a lot of sets It really should be $5 cheaper, to be the same as the Hailfire droid and Anakin's fighter. But, Lego knows people would buy it and that they can get away with tacking an extra 5 bucks on it... It should be the same price as the battle packs, really. 4 mini figures and i doubt more pieces than a BP would include... No, it shouldn't. It may be a little overpriced, but not that much. Sure, it may be small-ish, but you'd be surprised. Those tread pieces take up a lot of the total. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Size of AT-OT and Dropship box: Look in the far background. Sorry if this has been posted. AT-OT and Dropship also now listed as a UCS set: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=416&d=322 Edited February 18, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
Skipper 24 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 On FBTB's video the LEGO rep picks up the box, it might be more clear to see it there if you want to. Video Quote
The Rancor Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 On FBTB's video the LEGO rep picks up the box, it might be more clear to see it there if you want to. Video The box looks like an enlarged ATTE box. It's quite square, but I remember the RGS box was pretty massive too. I hope there's free shipping on these babies! I'm still confused with the connection of the ship, even after reading some explanations. I think I'll just have to wait to see for myself, because I think I'll get the ATOT and dropship. I hope there are more S @ H exclusives in store for later in the year (preferably secret until near release ) Quote
General Magma Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I just watched Episode VI, and it made me want the Endor set and the Falcon.. I hope there are minifigs in the falcon, cause I would like to have minifigs in it. Quote
JCC1004 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I know the Falcon is mid-scale but can't TLG throw some figs in that? I would, looking at the piece count I would think it would be 40 US but with lego's recent cough*over*cough* pricing about 50 us would be realistic. Quote
Darth Yoda Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 So there aren't any pictures of the dropship with the AT-Te? Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 So there aren't any pictures of the dropship with the AT-Te? No I don't think so, maybe in the part of the box where they show the playability Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 On lookers, please pay attention to this post, very important! I now have an idea of what the weird technic beam does on both the AT-TE and AT-OT! It helps the dropship carry the ship! TLG has been planning on this set since 2008! KimT's picture: Now look in the center, you can see it sliding up into the center! LAAT/C can fit the AT-TE! (Probably) Quote

(Probably) Not probably, definitely. It has already been confirmed (from TLG's product description): "Drop ship automatically locks onto walker, then releases it with the push of a switch! Also works with #7675 AT-TE Walker." It is cool that LEGO already had this thought out though. Quote

It is cool that LEGO already had this thought out though. They could've been planning since 2007! Oh this is so exiting! Now we can really use it as it is in the official storyline, and we get an awesome AT-OT walker! With 16 seats in the back and a beautiful cockpit! I had always assumed that the weird technic beam in my AT-TE was a fluke that I was too lazy to go back and read the directions to fix! Now I am going bonkers for this set! Quote
JimBee Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I'm really dissapointed with the Venator... I was hoping it'd have so much space in it...but the entire front is taken up by an office, the entire middle by a bomb launcher that drops two bombs, and the entire back with a cannon and an escape pod. It seems that they could have used that space to a much better purpose. But then, there's not much room to begin with. I'm thinking a modified ISD would look much better. At least it's unique, and I have to admit that the gun turret looks neat (and the fact that it can change sides so easily is a plus too). Also, it seems to me that after you've had fun attaching/dropping of the AT-OT, what else is there? I mean, sure, there are SIX(!) clones and TWO(!) pilots, but what else? You can get clones and pilots anywhere else. For this price, we need a little more. A new Jedi would be nice, or a new clone commander, like Bly, to give you that little push to get the set- I got the AT-TE partly for Rex. I agree. TLG has been generous in giving us eight figures, but the DS had 21, and all of those figs can be found in other sets. A new, exclusive figure would be nice (Ki-Adi Mundi and Bly ) Plus, for that price, we need an enemy of some sort! They have nothing to fight, and my clone army is swiftly growing, while my droid army ain't. TLC: TOO MANY CLONES! NOT ENOUGH DROIDS! If it's such a big deal, an MTT can help. I think the droid:clone ratio is pretty even. In defense of Snail Droid. ) Some of you, gentlemen, say it's out of scale.... Let's make some calculations. ) I don't think the Snail Tank is small to begin with. Perhaps one or more parts of the tank seem out of proportion to some people, making the set look small. The same case would go to the Hailfire Tank (from 2008), with it's small wheels. Other than that, the sets are actually to scale with other sets (not counting the huge ones that had to be scaled down, like the ISD). Quote
Darth Skinyus Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 It's nice how I modded my AT-TE with that thing gone, and put the tunnel in the middle. Guess I should fix that somehow. I also find it cool that LEGO has been planning this since 2007, and was able to keep it secret. Quote
Turaga of Force Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 First, sorry if this has already been posted. I didn't see any other topics regarding this. I was on Shop@Home checking to see if they had the LEGO Collector's Guide (which sadly they don't) and found that 10195 is now available for pre-order, shipping March 30th! It costs $249.99 USD and contains 1,758 pieces. It includes 8 minifigures. See the Shop@Home page here. Enjoy! -ToF Quote
Derek Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Its already in the 2009 discussion topic. However, I honestly don't blame you for not wanting to sift through all of that, especially with all the hype from the past weekend. Thanks! I won't be surprised if this gets closed though... Quote

TLG has been planning on this set since 2008! While you could be right, I think that that beam was put so the AT-TE could be picked up and handled easily (with your hands, not the Dropship). Perhaps, it they put it on the AT-TE for that reason, and lucked out when they decided to to the Dropship. Or they had it planned all along. What came first, the chicken or the egg? Quote
Turaga of Force Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Oh, okay. Well, it probably deserves it's own topic cause it's big news. I'll let the mods decide. -ToF Quote

Yeah, people were posting like over 10 pages per day when the toy fair was taking place. I just go off for a few hours, then BAM! Over 5 new pages to read... Quote
Corvus Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Well, there used to be a topic devoted to sightings and set releases, but I guess no one looked at it. So, no, this topic didn't really need to be made. Quote

TLC more than likely hasnt been planning this. They put it on the AT-TE to be easily carried and then they figured out a way for the AT-OT to have it so the dropship could carry both. I am very happy that TLC was able to keep this quiet. It gives us a nice suprise for us and our wallets. Quote
ROCON Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I think TLC is hiding more cw sets from us. I mean c'mon there are so many more important characters that could be made. For example, a new Padme and Jar Jar, few new clones. Hopefully a new magnet set with jedi and Plo Koon comes with it because my my brother loosened his arms and legs, not to mention the paint. :P Quote
Siegfried Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 While this will probably be merged soon, anyone notice this; "Also works with #7675 AT-TE Walker" I want it even more now... but it costs $400 AUD! Quote

Didn't the rumours say Lando, Chewie, Ten Numb or something? Would this be the first SW Set without Minifigs? [besides the mini ones] I think they would include minifigs..... I dont see why they would stop? Quote
