SWMAN Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Im so hyped about the new 2009 star wars sets!! Im hoping to get most of the OT sets and the venator. since i missed out on the Imperial Shuttle. I like how the new sets are like play sets not just vehicles with a few minifigs thrown in.Admiral Ackbar and the Mon Calamari engineer's heads look cool as! The new Mon Mothma minifig looks cool but i really wasnt expecting her in the set. The Endor set looks really well done and with that many minifigs its even better!! I like the chief ewok's staff type thing and the speeders. The new atst looks well done but I dont think that they really needed to put that in there I agree that the creation of more "play sets" is nice allows for a lot more playability instead of a ship with some figures. I am not quite sure how the Imperial Shuttle relates to the Venator. Two totally different ships. I disagree with you when it comes to the AT-ST. I think that it is great that they included it. It adds a lot to the playability and adds more to the set without adding a ton to the price. Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Do you think the pirate tank will have any interior? Anyways the top on my wishlist would be the dropship and AT-OT and 2nd would be the Venator or Endor Bunker, I'm still thinking about it Quote

Bricks Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I found this on youtube: Ki-Adi Mundi What do you think. It looks really great but I think it's just a custom! 'Bricks' Quote
Skipper 24 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 It's a custom lego would never do a hairpiece like that. The cape looks like a different material too. Quote
simonjedi Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Just a really good custom. Ki-Adi Mundi hasn't even been in the CW yet, so we won't get him in a set for a while. Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Well anyways back on topic will the MS MF and the Pirate Tank be released in August with the other sets or will it be released later? Quote
ADHO15 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Well anyways back on topic will the MS MF and the Pirate Tank be released in August with the other sets or will it be released later? I heard somewhere that the Falcon, Pirate Tank and Home One will be released later in the year. Quote
commandercody Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) The MS MF and the pirate tank are gonna come around christmas. That Ki-Adi-Mundi is definitly custom. Edited February 22, 2009 by commandercody Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Jeez, I saw that Ki-Adi months ago! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=349554 I guess the other sets will come to the US around November, CHristmas is too late, and the other months are a bit eraly. I'd say fall. Quote
KimT Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 The MS MF and the pirate tank are gonna come around christmas. Are you sure? I find it a little odd, that we've only heard of those two sets for the Christmas wave. They'll probably be late summer early autumn sets the way I see it. And then, when December comes, a new wave will strike us. I could be wrong though. We're getting loads of sets this year and the January/Winter wave could theoretically be those 2 sets - which is highly doubtable Quote
ILikePi Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Wait, so that means there's three waves per year? Sorry if that's a stupid question, but I just started checking what new LEGO Star Wars sets are going to come out on like November 2008 or so. Before that, I just checked LEGO.com. I didn't even know about LEGO fansites then! Edited February 22, 2009 by ILikePi Quote

Before that, I just checked LEGO.com. I didn't even know about LEGO fansites then! No, I'm pretty sure there are two waves of Star Wars lego set waves, early in the year and later in the year. TLC usually puts out the new year's sets right before Christmas though. Quote
Knightsword Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Oh man, if the Tank is the Target exclusive, it will be the 3rd tank in a row for them. Quote
brandon Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 If it's a black head they have, then I hope they have a face on the back, like the reversible heads but then you can change it when they put off their helmet so you don't see a shadow guy running around.. I think the black is part of the helmet Quote

By Autumn, TLG will have released about 20 SW sets which is average for each year. A third wave in winter would take the number up higher. Maybe if it's only a small wave. Quote
KimT Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 The so-called 3rd wave is the January wave which is usually released in NA during December. Quote
ADHO15 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 The so-called 3rd wave is the January wave which is usually released in NA during December. Ah, I'd count that as the first 2010 wave. Quote
General Magma Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I think the black is part of the helmet Eh, why do you reply on my post from 2 months ago before we even had clear pictures of the new sets and minifigs? Quote
sam89 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Whilst there's only two waves per year, there's usually a few more exclusives released later in the year. For instance, in 2007, these exclusives were the Hoth Rebel Base and the Republic Cruiser, and they were released in the Autumn. In 2008, the late sets were the Twilight and the Spider Droid. The mid-scale Falcon and the Pirate Tank are 2009 sets, and will be released later this year. They will most likely be exclusives as well. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 The January wave always comes out just in time for Christmas, but it's considered the first wave of each year. The second wave is summer sets. That's it, two waves. There are always though, waves of exclusive sets that pop up randomly during the year, like 10195, the tank, and the falcon. Now lets get back on topic! Quote

CloneMe Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Are you guys forgetting about the Republic Fighter Tank. That came out I beleive around october a couple months after the first clone wars wave which was released in late july. Quote
Darth Skinyus Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 This is kinda on topic, it does pertain to this year I think that there are 2 major waves a year: The Jun/Jul and then the Jan/Dec. The first wave usually 6 Non-Exclusives - usually two Battle Packs, 2 $20, 1 $40, and one $50. But this year we got the battle packs, 1 of the twenties, a thirty, a fifty and a sixty. The second major wave has obscure and random prices. Quote

I think we might not get it this year if we don't have any pics of it yet. Unless you mean "released" pictures, I really think you should get your eyes checked. They're everywhere! (Sorry if I'm misinterpreting.) But it'll definitely be out this year. And I counted the winter December 08-January 09 sets as this year to everyone who counts next winters wave of sets as 2009 sets. Save that for the 2010 topic! EDIT: Sorry if I'm coming off as angry, but it gets a little irritating when you have heard the same thing so many times that you go back through the pages, copy everyone's name down who's already said it, and show it to the person! (That didn't happen though.... yet!) Edited February 22, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
