Hinckley Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 Pavarti sat in the park, doing nothing and staring blankly into space. "Hey," she said when she saw someone familiar. "Weird week, huh?" The person replied. "Yeah." Pavarti said. "It's about to get weirder." The other person told her. "Why? Are you going to shoot me?" Pavarti asked. "That's not weird. I expected that." "Well, I'll make it easier on everybody," she said, "the remaining rat is..." Bang! "Oh, oops!" Said the hitman as he ran off into the park, "My trigger finger got a little itchy." The feds had pulled up to the park in quite a hurry. "I believe we've lost Pavarti," Agent Sky said. "Not too much of a surprise," Agent Nelson said, "I guess we should've put her into witness protection or something, huh?" "Maybe we should put our remaining informant into protective custody." Agent Sky wondered. "That might be a good idea. Just one left and 6 members of the crew to bring down. Maybe it's too much..." Agent Nelson offered. "Pretty brazen for them to kill someone in the middle of the day," Agent Nelson said, "I wonder what they'll do with the rest of their day." "Where has Agent Black been, anyway?" Agent Sky wondered. After all, Pavarti was the rat who botched the Theater job...
Shadows Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 The remaining members of the family are sitting around the TV in Ian's office, watching as the story unfolds on the news. "Can't say it was much of a surprise," quips one as they all share a case of whiskey, "we all figured she had to be a rat." "Yeah, and now she's a dead one, just the way we like 'em," chuckled another. "Hey, what's Pavarti doing in that fountain?" asks a late arrival. I dunno, looks like the backstroke to me. Good job guys. Based on this being a midday killing, I'm getting the impression we're supposed to finish this job up now. Anyone have any brilliant suggestions?
Hinckley Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 Iris pokes her head in. "I don't expect you guys to make another conviction today, but since there's only one rat left, I thought you could use the second half of the day to discuss who it might be. That'll give your night killer a better idea of who to go after..."
MagPiesRUs Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Odd that the hitman killed the rat before she could reveal the final rat. I remember our good friend the mayor doing the same thing in the previous Baritones game... of life. Of course, Iris has said that she trusts the person she appointed to be hitman, but you never know with her...
Quarryman Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Odd that the hitman killed the rat before she could reveal the final rat. I remember our good friend the mayor doing the same thing in the previous Baritones game... of life. Of course, Iris has said that she trusts the person she appointed to be hitman, but you never know with her... So you're suggesting that Dickie is the last rat?
Alice Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Like I have said, I have absolutely no indication of Dickie's alignment but I do not believe that he is the last rat. He protects me and I am loyal and I think it would be a bit odd for him to be a rat and protect a loyal. I am not on board with voting for Dickie at this point. So basically we are looking at: Alicia Adelaide Ian Quarry Piav Dickie JBlue
Jlblue Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 So Agent Black is missing... what does that mean? Do you think that he's undercover here? Or do you think he's dead? Based on what Dragonateri said, Agent Black is somehow related to the blackmailer, and something tells me we're not quite done with him yet. ^Agent Black?^ If I'd have to guess why we aren't back up to three rats today, it would be because it might take two nights to blackmail someone, or blackmails every other night, or maybe the blackmailer targeted me, was frustrated that I was out last night and instead left a rather smelly threat on my front walk. As to who it might be? That's tricky. Regardless of whether or not the blackmailer is still out and about, I simply don't know much about Piav. My results last night tell me that he was home all night, and nothing out of the ordinary was going on in the street. But traditionally the godfather in these games is immune to most night actions, and maybe the blackmailer takes on a similar role.
Shadows Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I still wonder if we're dealing with a 3rd element, someone not loyal to either side or trying to take over the family from the inside, but have never been able to prove it. So Agent Black is missing... what does that mean? Do you think that he's undercover here? Or do you think he's dead? Based on what Dragonateri said, Agent Black is somehow related to the blackmailer, and something tells me we're not quite done with him yet. Since the feds don't know where he is, I assume he's still alive. They would have recognized his body if they found it, wouldn't they? Regardless of whether or not the blackmailer is still out and about, I simply don't know much about Piav. My results last night tell me that he was home all night, and nothing out of the ordinary was going on in the street. But traditionally the godfather in these games is immune to most night actions, and maybe the blackmailer takes on a similar role. That's interesting. How do you prove something like that if they're immune to investigation?
Jlblue Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 There is no way, really, that's a problem. If we're looking for a blackmailer, (Which I think we are) then he's the only one on my suspect list. I just really don't have a clue as to what's his deal. And if he had the ability to convert every night, the rats would've overrun us by now. We've only killed four rats out of five, and if they can keep pumping out new ones once a night they'd have twice that much. So it's possible I ran into him on an inactive night. Does anybody have any stuff on Piav? Evidence of his alignment, either way?

So it's possible I ran into him on an inactive night. Actually, we have killed five out of six rats. I agree though, nothing seems to indicate that they can pump out new ones on a daily basis.
Quarryman Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 The day will end in five hours. And I still haven't a clue about who I should target tonight.. very annoying.
Sir Dillon Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Well, it's nice to see we were finally able to take out one of the rats by voting. At this point, I admit I am a little suspicious of Piav as well, but I have noting to go on other than a gut feeling.
Alice Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I don't know a lot about Piav, but I have had a gut instinct that he might not be loyal since before we killed his rat brother. I am pretty sure that's who my next vote will be for.
Jlblue Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Actually, we have killed five out of six rats. I agree though, nothing seems to indicate that they can pump out new ones on a daily basis. Sorry, misspoke there. I was never good with countin' or numbers or any such trivialities. Is that a word? Never mind. Doesn't matter. And I still haven't a clue about who I should target tonight.. very annoying. I say go with Piav.
Hinckley Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Please get your night actions in. Day 9 will start as soon as I have them. Thanks...
