Posted February 14, 200916 yr A couple of weeks ago i realised that there are very few roman MOCs, so i decided to make this little temple: More pictures
February 14, 200916 yr This is very nicely done! So many ornaments and details on the temple. Awesome. I like the two roman soldiers too. It just like so they are discussing about the horse dung between them. The chariot is great as well. Some chariots had sharp knifes pointing out of the wheels to cut the infantry men's legs off. :skull: It would be even cooler if you put knifes on the wheels.
February 14, 200916 yr Author Thanks! Some chariots had sharp knifes pointing out of the wheels to cut the infantry men's legs off. :skull: It would be even cooler if you put knifes on the wheels. So he can chop of the legs of the citizens in the streets?
February 14, 200916 yr This is a fantastic MOC and extremely detailed. I love the architecture of the buildings complete with statues (a very nice touch). I also like the way you created the road and the chariot. When I was a kid, we use to build Roman Chariots using the round macaroni bricks to make a front curve (three on each side). I really like your design. This is a top notch scene!
February 14, 200916 yr What a wonderfull work, the detail on the brickwork is amazing and that little chariot just adds to the Roman feel.
February 14, 200916 yr Eurobricks Emperor I'm in love Honestly, I would pay some bucks for this one if it was a set. It's amazing. I like it so very much that I've put it on the frontpage.
February 14, 200916 yr Thanks! So he can chop of the legs of the citizens in the streets? I thought chariots were often used for battles.
February 14, 200916 yr I saw this earlier, but I didn't comment. Anyways, this is beautiful! Great and accurate details!
February 14, 200916 yr Oh that is beautiful. The temple is wonderfully designed, I especially like the spire at the top. The red slopes blend in seamlessly too. I love the use of handcuffs and axes, very clever. And that cart is amazing. Top job! Batbrick Away!
February 14, 200916 yr Nicely done! The chariot is really well designed as is the temple. Kudos to a great Roman MOC!
February 14, 200916 yr A very nice temple, but this looks more Gothic styled than Roman to me. (little tower) The MOC is great though! (nice technique for the legs) @ cap'n Blackmoor: the Romans didn't use chariots in war, nor can I recall a civilian use. (2 wheeled that is) They were used in horse races though. (circus Maximus) TT
February 15, 200916 yr Very nice work DNL, The soldier legs look cool, nice tan there The temple does look a little over detailed lending more towards Gothic than Roman, but super nonetheless. Thanks for sharing. PS any chance we could interest you in an entry for the CCB?
February 15, 200916 yr Great job - looks like it could have been an official Lego product ! Dr. D. I should also have added that the builder is an absolute genius - just check out some of the other creations on the Flickr photostream. Brilliant ! Dr. D.
February 15, 200916 yr Great job - looks like it could have been an official Lego product ! I would say this is better than an official product!
February 17, 200916 yr That's an absolutely amazing MOC, DNL! I really it! The architecture is perfect and the details are totally awesome! I really like the minifig constellation and the cart! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
February 17, 200916 yr Absolutely wonderful MOC. I really like both the actual aesthetics of the temple and detailing, as well as the creativity and inventiveness that has gone into choosing the design and such an array of elements to create the stonework. The streetscene and landscaping finishes it off by providing a convincing setting for the temple. I do like the look of the chariot and minifigs also.
February 17, 200916 yr Author Thanks everybody I'm in love Honestly, I would pay some bucks for this one if it was a set. It's amazing. I like it so very much that I've put it on the frontpage. Thanks for putting it on the frontpage! Very nice work DNL, The soldier legs look cool, nice tan there The temple does look a little over detailed lending more towards Gothic than Roman, but super nonetheless. Thanks for sharing. There are some very detailed roman buildings, and it just looks nice PS any chance we could interest you in an entry for the CCB? I'm quite busy at the moment, i'm building an entry for the job muller contest at CC, and after that i have to start building a castle that i'm going to display at a model train show at the end of march, but after that i'll probably have time.(if that isn't too late?) Daniel
February 20, 200916 yr Very good. That is fantastic. There are so many details. It give not sth., what you should build other. MMMmmmm..... I want to have it.. Ahsoka Tano
February 21, 200916 yr I love anything Roman, but this just takes the cake. not only is it wonderfully built, but it looks authentic too! You are truthfully one of the best castle builders. Now, build the rest of Rome.
February 22, 200916 yr A very nice MOC! Loads of great architectural touches on the building itself, but the chariot is also very unique. I like the expression on the chariot-drivers face. That's an interesting idea using the smaller legs for the soldiers in that way. Very nice!
February 22, 200916 yr Wow, just wow. That is a lot of detail in a very small area. Very Roman looking.
