Maybe the Disney Brand will bring us Nightmare Before Christmas sets one could only hope.

I hope there will be a theme for Narnia it would be really cool!

I wonder why lego would wanna make toy story stuff? That movie was shown ages ago, and I wonder is there that big a popularity for it now? That doesn't sound very exciting.

Prince of persia sounds interesting though. I love the movie "kingdom of heaven" and I've always wanted to build a persian army and this might be a good chance to do it. Hopefully most of the sets from this theme can be adapted to making crusades-related scenes. Look forward to recreating my own kingdom of heaven scenes!

Well, maybe right now there isn't, but in 2010 when Toy Story 3 comes out, I'm sure there will be a pretty big demand Toy Story toys.

Disney no longer owns Narnia they sold it due to lack of sales.

I know a lot of people have mentioned Mr Potato Head, but since that's a Hasbro toy, I doubt LEGO will make him.

we are talking about the PoP movie. And the movie is being produced by Disney, so I'm guessing the rating can't be all that bad. This, of course, raises the question of how good the movie (and in return, the sets) will be.

We already discussed this.

The original Toy Story from 1995 will be released in 3-D this year.

I've done a search on these forums, but didn't find this bit of news:

http://www.toytalk.co.uk/2009/02/coming-so...-lego-sets.html

--------------------------------

LEGO enthusiasts will soon be able to build the wonderful world of Disney in their own homes following a deal between the two companies.

The first three Disney properties to be opened up are Toy Story, Cars and Prince of Persia – all scheduled to arrive in LEGO form next year.

Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will appear in LEGO System sets in early 2010, with Toy Story 3 products following in May. LEGO DUPLO sets, meanwhile, will launch around June 2010.

Cars will see DUPLO sets reach the starting line in June 2010, while Prince of Persia: Sand of Time LEGO System kits will debut around April.

I'm not a Disney fan, but what do you think!?

This has been posted before, sorry. I don't have a link though.

Geez slow down dude. This isn't just 'Hey, a new theme! lets go find pictures!' No. Its not that easy.

You know, saying, "old news", "we've had a thread about that" etc isn't helpful. If you can't comment on the topic, then do this ...

Thank you for making a useful post to this thread.

I'll merge these now.

This is the second time Disney has joined the LEGO license lineup in 8½ years. The Toy Story and Cars themes might be the best out of all the Disney themes. I'm sure that they will use the same hat as Indy, but maybe in a darker brown. That hat is very versatile, as well as the Insectoid mask which was used in the Batman sets on Mr. Freeze. I hope they use the same helmet on Buzz Lightyear, as it is the closest to a ½ dome that LEGO has. Just remember that almost all LEGO pieces are versatile. I really hope they give us more pieces in "ShamWow orange" if you know what color I mean. It is the color used on the Belville dinner plates.

I was just watching Toy Story 2 on tv today (my copy's a vhs, and I don't happen to have a vcr), and I noticed some scenes that would make some pretty good sets. They are mentioned below.

________________________________________________________________________________

__________________________________________________________________

Where Buzz Lightyear (the one that wears the fancy-pants belt) takes on Zurg on top of the elevator! (Zurg's probably gonna have one of those bionicle launchers hooked up to his arm)

The chase scene where the real Buzz and the gang are chasing down the chicken man (his real name eludes me). It could be in Racer scale!

The airport conveyor belt scene. Buzz leaping from conveyer belt to conveyor belt. The gang with cameras. Woody vs. Stinky Pete in a battle for the ages!

Those are just some scenes I thought could make some cool sets.

Oh my god! Toy Story is my favorite movie of all time! And now there will be Lego Toy Story. I wonder if it will tie in to Toy Story 3, which will come out next year! WAIT ONE MINUTE!!!!!! Three movies, a lego tie in... TRAVELLOR'S TALES COULD DO A LEGO TOY STORY VIDEO GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... Okay... I got the rabid fandom out of my system.

I hope that the LEGO System Toy Story sets have minifigures instead of huge figures (like the Duplo ones). :classic:

Read news.

Personally I don't think this will turn out well, or as good as expected.

And I have not played Prince Of Persia since I found a copy of the original MS-DOS game on a pirate disk. I kept falling onto spikes or getting killed by this dude who's flailing a sword about.
