What do you think we were discussing for the last eleven pages? :hmpf:

Seriously, why does everyone treat these facts like news? We've known this since Toy Fair for pete's sake!

Just saying.

Maybe you should put a notice to this effect in your sig, since you seem to feel so strongly about it, and since clearly not everyone reads the fine print of the press releases with such attention to detail as yourself :hmpf:

"TOY STORY - IT'S SYSTEM, PEOPLE!"

Hehe, not a bad idea, but I'll pass.

Sorry, I just hate it when people don't pay attention.

Me too, thats why I have to yell all the time.

Anyway, anyone remember Andy's toy car track? That could be a nice racer-like set.

They would have to remove the loop though...

I'm not sure if this has already been posted but Lego has got the license for Disney in 2010 starting with Toy Story, Cars and prince of persia the new Disney Summer Blockbuster for next year. You can read more about it here: toys and gadgets news

Edit:

Full article

I had the feeling Toy Story would have something in Duplo.Maybe I'll buy both the Lego system and Duplo.

toy story 3 will mark the return of KK2 action figures!

if there ever was minifig scale, we'll see new armor mold in a similar shape as the troll's or ufo's with mr freeze helmet for buzz. woody will have the 1x1 tooth plates for feet and to make him slightly taller than buzz. both will have normal mf legs.

we'll also see new shorty green alien mf (like the SBSP slip-on mold).... this plus buzz + woody will be the new mf pack (and maybe even magnet set). all thrown together from TS1, where they were stuck in the claw-machine.

we'll also see a brickbuilt piggy (yay farm animal!) and a tranny rex dino (i hope not too big). :classic:

A similar color scheme applies to both, but PoP is a little different. For starters, no whip and no fedora. I played through Sands of Time. It's half-puzzle, half-action, and I'm thinking that we'll see some interesting puzzles in both the movie and the Lego sets. But I don't know what exactly is going to be in the movie. Hopefully, it won't bomb, as Lego will have trouble selling the line to the mainstream market if it does.

Us fanatics probably would buy it, whether we'd seen the movie or not, or liked it or not.

I hope it won't bomb either, but I know that Toy Story 3 wont.Pixar is what is keeping me from bombing disney because all of their Tween-Intrest crap.

But I heard Jerry Brokehimer is making PoP, didnt he make Pirates Of The Carribian (Sp) the first 2 were good.

We can only hope.

Wow, I'm surprised that Toy Story and Prince of Persia will be System scale. It will be interesting to see what they come up with, especially for Toy Story. The characters are so distinctively shaped and different that it will be difficult to get them to work around the standard minifig legs and torso, even if all the heads are special moulds like SP3 aliens. I really like the Clone Wars sets, for example, but I don't think the translation from super skinny, gaunt animated figures has translated particularly well to squat, stout figs  I would have also thought Toy Story was too young to appeal to the usual age group for System, but Lego knows its demographics.

I have an idea for what could be done for buzz's helmet and head - for the helmet they should use the same helmet that was used for Sandy in the Lego spongebob set.For his head, use the mask minifig head that is now edited so its like a hood and its purple.

Hopefully the little green men wont be like the Alien "Droid" figures in Mars mission ECT.

Yes, January 2010 for the system Toy Story sets! That's great news. I really like this marketing gimmick that LEGO has taken up with new licenses acquired just before a new movie. Well, I guess they took it up back in 1999, when they released the first OT Star Wars sets around Christmas before launching the new tie-ins in the summer. Still, it's great to get excited about what the new movie will bring!

It's pretty basic stuff really..

They really did a horrible job with Batman, cancelling the liscence just before the videogame and the Dark Knight movie came out. As soon as everyone started to care about the sets, you could only get them for hundreds on eBay.

Omg lego kingdom hearts! That would be so cool!!

And Jonas would be cool too!

:laugh::oh3::oh3::oh3:

:laugh::oh3::oh3::oh3:

JONAS!!??! Are you really old enough to be on this site?

Please tell me you're joking... Seriously, I do not need to see Lego minifigs with... 'purity rings' (yes, I know about those... for some reason...)

The Jonas Brothers and their rings can go shove it :laugh:

I will kill for the Kingdom Hearts sets though. I love the games with a passion. Imagine Sora & Cloud minifigs.

just curious... is this true? or are you just stating what you believe TS sets will have?

:laugh::oh3::oh3::oh3:

If there is ever a Jonas Brothers set I vow to never buy another set.

Jonas Bros indeed. :hmpf_bad:

Oh well, at least it wouldn't be as bad as Hannah Montana! :hmpf::sick::laugh:

I'm pretty sure it's the ladder: a mere prediction.

honestly... i would prefer a Hannah montana set over a jonas set any day... lego needs many more female figs, despite the fact that i still think miley cyrus looks like a guy.

Hm. You might have a point there. :sceptic: I just despise that brat so much. :hmpf_bad: Oh well, both are very unlikely to happen, so what does it matter.

Yeah i guess jonas would be retarded but i would kill for kingdom hearts too.

i would kill for kingdom hearts too.

What would be so special about Kingdom Hearts? :sceptic: The only difference from a line of normal classic Disney movie sets would be the few anime characters and maybe some of the Heartless creatures.

I would much rather have the normal classic disney movie sets to be honest. Besides, didn't they stop making those games, like, a long time ago? Also, TLC has never made any sets based on licensed videogames, with the exception of The Force Unleashed (which was a big "multimedia project" and only had one set), so it's rather unlikely. :sadnew:

that's true... but it would be so cool if this leads to a 'Lego Kingdom Hearts' multi-platform game

Yeah yall are true. :hmpf_bad: And besides i have no clue when the actual 3rd game Keyblade Wars comes out. They keep on making random games they should just make the third one! I mean i get how roxas was sora's nobody!

Well getting off that subject, what if buzz had wings that pop open like the movie! I know lego couldn't do that.

pop out wings. i would so buy that. maybe they can make a new mold or something to do that.

But that would be some serious micro mechanics! Even if they pop up, they would still be too short because in the movie they also telescope out. I have not seen any other toy get that right yet, so how the heck would Lego do it? :sceptic:

No, I think it will probably be two of these with stickers attached to one of these which you can attach to Buzz' back.

Can we please talk about woody? I liked him more than buzz. Anyway, I hate to admit it, but the liklihood of lego Hanna montana sets is high when you consider that myley cyrus has a billion 6 year girls for her fan base...

No.

Seriously, what's there to talk about? He'll be a normal minifig with either a new hat or a fedora. Nothing else.

I doubt there are that many 6 year-olds in the world, but I get your point. Also, this goes well with the fact that Lego tries to be less of a boys toy and appeal to girls as well sometimes. :sceptic: But luckily, there isn't much they could make a set out of besides a concert stage or Miley's home. :classic:

What's the smile for? I hope it's the fact that only 1 1/2 sets could be made of that brat. But I highly doubt TLC would stoop down so low to make HM sets. I just hope they don't make High school musical sets!

I should have followed my gut. :hmpf_bad: I have stayed away from this topic for a while but finally broke down and read it up to date. Now I feel like putting a minifigure spear in my brain. Hana Montana and HS Musical Lego sets...I have to go roll around in some classic-space and classic-castle parts to cleanse the images from my mind.

I think people are forgeting lego's target audience: Boys 6-12. What little boy is going to get a lego set of Hannah montanna or the Jonas brothers, really. :hmpf_bad: I think you should have more confidence in TLC's descision-making. Things like toy story and cars are a good idea since they will sell well, thats why they are what were getting.

I kinda think everyone's joking.

At least I hope. :look: I'll be very curious to see pictures of the Toy Story sets. I really wonder what they will be like.
