legoblockman Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I can't wait for the lego prince of persia! I think it would be cool if there was lego doctor who, but I don't think that's going to happen. Quote

keetong Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) The Prince of Peris theme sounds pretty cool. To tell you the truth I don't no much about Prince of Persia. I know it a game and all, but would there be enough exciting sets in it? Can someone please enlighten me on the subject? Disney...... well I don't really like the sound of it, TLG could maybe have bought something with more action. One thing that just came into my mind is it Lego or is it Duplo? (Please make it lego so I can get some cowboy hats from toystory) This will keep me thinking for a while Edited April 18, 2009 by keetong Quote
ILikePi Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) Prince of PersiaA line of LEGO System construction toys based on Walt Disney Pictures' and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Mike Newell and scheduled to release in May 2010 is also in development. The film, based on the best-selling video game franchise of the same name, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina and Gemma Arterton in an epic tale of Prince Dastan's struggle to stop an evil ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Prince of Persia-themed LEGO products are scheduled to launch in April 2010. LEGO System, not Duplo. I also don't know anything about PoP, but it sounds pretty cool. Can someone also give me some information about it? Edited April 18, 2009 by ILikePi Quote

Derek Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) I heard he was arrested for something. For beating a prostitute !!! Completely innapropriate, even though its completely true. *BACK ON TOPIC* I personally think that the Disney theme could be done very well by Lego, or very poorly. If the initial wave of sets is good, they will sell, and the line will prosper for a while. If they are bad, well, I can't see things going too well... Lego has a big chance with this massive liscense. Either they do it superbly, or fail miserably. Edited April 18, 2009 by darthperson Quote

Disney tried this before in 2000, with LEGO Mickey Mouse and DUPLO Winnie the Pooh, and it failed big time. There was probably little to no interest at that time in a LEGO Disney license, and that wave of sets suffered for it. Let's hope they they do better this time, now that they have broader spectrum of themes, like Toy Story, Cars, Disney Princess, Prince of Persia, etc. I also ho hope that they make LEGO sculptures of Disney characters (could you imagine a Cheshire Cat Sculpture made mostly of hot pink and purple bricks, and some glow-in the-dark bricks for his teeth? ). Hopefully, it will be a successful run that won't be undersold or underappreciated, not even by AFOL's! Quote
MaxGoof Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I can't -WAIT- for the Toy Story sets!! Since their official release in January 2010, we should start hearing about these in the next month or so, and theoretically have them in-hand by Christmas! I think a LEGO Slinky Dog could be one of the coolest minifigs EVER if done right. However, I think TLG made a BIG mistake if they only licensed Cars for Duplo. Cars literally prints money and is by far the strongest and best-selling Disney license right now, both with kids and adult collectors. Cars is a big enough deal that scalpers hunt the diecasts 24 hours a day, there are Cars collector days at K-Mart, and a bigger Cars section than Hot Wheels in many stores! I hope TLG comes to their senses and makes some regular Cars sets before the end of 2010. Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I sure hope they'll make a National Treasure theme. Quote
Tom Bricks Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I sure hope they'll make a National Treasure theme. That would be one way to continue with the adventurers line but sadly I think that the timing is off. Maybe if they made a third National Treasure though? Quote
Justin Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I think the LEGO Disney/Pixar Cars sets might be a subtheme of the LEGO Racers theme (like Speed Racer before it), considering the fact that there are no humans in the movie, since the cars stand in for people. Quote

I don't think that they will. The Cars sets are all Duplo, which means that there's no System sets. The Cars sets are probably going to have a category of their own, like the Thomas and Friends sets. Seth Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Wouldn't be good if they made The Prince of Persia WW sets. Quote
Zorro Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Wouldn't be good if they made The Prince of Persia WW sets. That would be awesome, but I'm afraid it is the same with HALO sets, just not gonna happen due to a too small audience (according to TLG). Quote
Eleven Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I just saw the new teaser trailer for Toy Story 3, and there they are, making a special guest appearance, a few handfuls of our favorite bricks! I'm excited to see what role LEGO bricks or minifigs play in the movie itself. I always thought that they were conspicuously absent in the first two movies, being the absolute best toy ever invented. No bias here, of course. By the way, I found the teaser trailer at www.apple.com/trailers ... just in case anyone was wondering. Quote
Hinckley Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Matthew Ashton sent me this link for the trailer for the new movie. Odd that it won't be out for another 12 months, but it's still exciting. Quote
Zorro Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 And you can't say no to that man ay! Looks good Hinck, and funny trailer too. Quote
k_peek_2000 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Anybody notice the use of Lego's in the trailer? That might explain the recent connection between Disney and Lego, the Toy Story set's will definitely revolve around what is in the 3rd movie, I am gonna see this! Plus I love Pixar films, UP was great! Quote
Capt. Redblade Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 You know what I'd like to see? Lego Chronicles of Narnia and Pirates of the Caribbean. Quote
Darth Caedus Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Ugh, I hate Toy Story and Pixar....passing on this license, just like Spongebob. You know what I'd like to see? Lego Chronicles of Narnia and Pirates of the Caribbean. And lord of the Rings. Now those would be good licenses. Quote
Freddie Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I've always liked Pixar's movies. They're always enjoyable to see, and I like their policy of not making sequels to their movies if the script isn't good enough (which by now should have seeped into Disney, as well), altough sooner or later they're bound to make a blunder. I just hope it won't be Toy Story 3. Nice to see that it's a two-way license too, and not just LEGO making licensed sets, but also getting some spotlight if the teaser is anything to go by. Quote
kill will Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 And lord of the Rings. Now those would be good licenses. LOTR isn't Disney I always liked Toy story as a kid, and wished Lego would make some. So I'm gonna have to get at least one set... I dunno about Prince of Persia, im thinking of exo-force like faced characters. Cars is Duplo, so, I could care less Quote
HumanPackMule Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I've got really high hopes for the Prince of Persia line. Turbans, bhurkas, middle eastern scenery, stunts, and fancy foreign weapons to use with the castle line. Quote
ILikePi Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I'm just hoping that we'll see some LEGO minifigures in Toy Story 3. Quote
