Yes, I mostly get my parts from sets and thus buy most sets for parts. When my collection does not fulfil my parts need, I buy from Bricklink, however it's mostly special parts for minifigures.

I buy Lego mostly weekly, but it can vary if there is nothing I want in stock. I buy from Supermarkets, small local toy stockists, Lego.com and big chain toystores. This week I bought three sets from a supermarket. This means I am unlikely to want any sets for a while, I have all the stuff I want that they stock.

I just put in my first BL order. Up to this point my MOCs have been from bricks in sets I bought. After making one or two MOCs I noticed the types of bricks I don't have enough of and I ordered those.
