I am wondering what everyone thinks about this set, 8401 Minifigure Collection. 60 pieces for $10 seems steep, but it seems like it could be worth it. I've seen some reviews with different opinions, but I want to see the majority. What do you think?

Thanks!

I bought one, purely for the flower shirt minifig torso. Is this your cup of tea? Thats probably the only consideration you need...

The red shirted delivery guy is pretty nice, since its rare to have such casual type clothing lately.

The park bench is very cool, though you can probably already make one yourself.

I'm sure I'll use the casette tape printed tile on the radio for building some kind of UNIVAC type computer MOC someday.

I voted without looking at the other people's votes, and all three of my votes were the same as them :oh:

That makes two of us.

Oddly, this set is only 8 Euros (so 2 Euros/minifig), that's cheaper than Impulse sets. Yet I think they shouldn't have put 3 male faces in it (the Post guy's face wouldn't work on a female fig) toallow people who buy more than one of this to swap faces and have different figs. That's what would make a plus in a city minifig pack, imho.

Here in NZ, it's only $15, which is the equivalent of around $7.50 US, and I find it great value for money, from a useful parts perspective. Compared to impulse sets, which are $7 or $5.50 each, it's like 4 Impulses for the price of 2 and a half.

I bought 2 of them, to help add to my city. I bought them mainly for the chair, minifigs, briefcase and container crate.

My only problem with this set, it the use of street sign stickers, which means my city has no new street signs. :hmpf_bad: Even the police impulse set had a printed speed sign, so I don't know why this set didn't.

Overall though, this set is great to stock up on minifigs and signpost stands! I'd recommend it for sure. :classic:

I find it to be a ok set. There's nothing terribly great about it, because it's basically four impulse sets in one box, and it has nothing groundbreaking in it that we haven't seen before.

I see I also I've voted like the majority on the poll. It's ok at the normal price, but is recommended if you find it at a sale.

I bought it when it came out in Germany, and I´m tempted to get another two or three of these when on sale.

It's a nice idea but the execution is kind of poor.

I really dislike three out of four of the minifig heads - why do they all look cranky or angry? - and the accessories are nothing really new.

However for customers who don't have access to S@H or the Advent Calendars (which aren't released in Australia) I think it's pretty good.

Finally kids can buy civilians to fill up their enormous airplanes, trains and other vehicles

If the new civilians from the new Agents set appeared in this format I'd snap them up by the dozen

I like the idea of the set, it is nice for those of us who don't have so many normal civilians or want to start a city.

Personally I will not buy this set pretty soon, at 8 euro's I find it a bit expensive for 4 minfigures.

Furthermore it is nothing new for me: I have literally hundreds of minifigures, dozens of roadsigns (printed ones, not stickered!) a whole fleet of handtrucks and half a drawer full of printed-tape-tiles.

But still... I like the idea.

I was really excited when I knew TLC was going to release a new City MFs set and I definitely loved that set. I think it could be not so great (who wants another policeman?) but for a City collector is a perfect addition and a wonderful way to increase his MF number.

I think this depends entirely on who the buyer is.

For the builder who is new or newe'er to LEGO and wants to build up thier minifig collection and get some accessories, it's a must buy. What other set gets you 4 figs for 10 USD?

For those of us who already have tons of minifigs and accessories. it's pretty much a "meh" unless there's a piece you feel you must have.

After voting, I'm in line with the majority on all three questions.

I like the bench and the boom box, but $10 (USD) for a few random figs just doesn't do much for me. If the signs were printed vs. stickers, I would be happy to pay the price.

I'm not a big fan of fig sets (esp. for City), that one can generally create themselves from figs of various sets. I've had this set in my hands several times at various stores, always reluctant to buy it.

With other $10 sets on the store shelves (like Indiana Jones Motorcycle Chase), in which you get some nice elements/pieces, I always pass it up.

It's a good set. For building up a MF and accessory collection its perfect and the price is good (in the UK) the figures have useful parts. I voted just off majority by the looks of things.

I was surprised to finally see another set to expand your city. It is a nice set, I like the details.
