Colonel Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 ... where I met CopMike, KimT and Morten Sonne (3 really nice guys). So of course I had to be a member of Eurobricks. My user name refers to my carreer in the Danish Air Force, where my last assignment was Base Commander at Vaerloese Air Station near Copenhagen. I got my first LEGO bricks 55 years ago, and in those days they were not good because they had no tubes inside. My favourite themes are: City, Castle and Pirates My christian name: Svend Erik Saksun. Age: 65 next week. Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) Hi! So, you are an ambassador? "My christian name" that sounds wierd to me. I don't have a christian name. Edited February 17, 2009 by Nikola Bathory Quote
Shadows Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Welcome to Eurobricks, Colonel! We're always glad to have another adult member here (we don't use the term mature for obvious reasons that will go nameless. ). Speaking of which... ... where I met CopMike, KimT and Morten Sonne (3 really nice guys). Yes they are. I got my first LEGO bricks 55 years ago, and in those days they were not good because they had no tubes inside. And cellulose acetate, so they warped easily. Ah, the good old days. My favourite themes are: City, Castle and Pirates Excellent choices! Again, it's a pleasure to have you here, I hope you thoroughly enjoy our little site. Quote

Your theme picking is also excellent, they are all high on my list too. Do you collect sets, or MOC as well? I'd like to ask you if you have a folder somewhere, so we can see some creations? Quote

Ricecracker Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Hi Svend! Welcome to our (Kind of) tightly knit community here. I hope you enjoy yourself . Quote
Colonel Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Thank you very much everybody for your kind welcomes... No I do not collect sets, because I think that LEGO bricks are made to build with instead of beeing locked up in boxes. At least that's what Ole, Godtfred and Kent has been trying to tell us for more than 50 years. Therefore I stick to MOCs - and you can find a folder on Brickshelf (username: colonel). And Kim: I don't do SW. I leave that to my 6 grand children. Quote
Eilif Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) Welcome aboard Colonel. Great to have someone with your experience here at Eurobricks. Most of us have had considerably less experience with LEGO so we'll be looking forward to hearing your persepective on some of the various topics that are discussed here. I just looked at your brickshelf, and I think it's time for me to bring out the yellow bricks. Did you paint the background in this picture ? Edited February 17, 2009 by Eilif Quote
Colonel Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 I just looked at your brickshelf, and I think it's time for me to bring out the yellow bricks. Did you paint the background in this picture ? Thanks Eilif - and yes: It is my painting. Besides "sculpturing" with LEGO bricks I also paint with oil on canvas... Quote
