Just wondering, has anyone got a full set of six?

Incredibly enough, I actually got a full set of all six from getting a total of six boxes of cereal - one of each car, without any duplicates (!). For the purposes of just trying to collect them all, I really lucked out, though I think I'd like to get some more eventually so I can use some of those odd parts in MOCs and whatnot. Yes, they're very specialized pieces, but they're still traditionally "system"-compatible LEGO bricks that can be combined with other, ordinary bricks in various ways, so I think I'd like to take advantage of the opportunity to add to my parts inventory while I still have time to do so - I'm thinking some of these car bodies might come in handy for repurposing into robots and things like that.

I got two this weekend. The Cheerio's racer and the red and black "2fast4u" racer.

Pros

-Cars looked pretty good once the stickers were on

-Overall toy is better than some of the crap they give these days

-Parts are LEGO "legal" as they are each stamped with the LEGO logo

-Plastic appears to be very close to the quality of regular lego parts

-Wheel base piece might actually be usefull in regular MOC's

-Free!

Cons

-Chassis pieces are utterly useless once stickers are applied

-Chassis pieces are nearly useless when stickers are not applied

-Wheel base piece is redundant for anyone who has a few sets of LEGO wheels

Final Verdict

Assembled them, put the stickers on, and gave them to a friend's kids that evening. I'm a LEGO packrat but I couldn't think of any part of the cars that I would miss. I think this was a fine promotion for giving kids a taste for LEGO and a neat toy, but it's not of much use for MOCs.

Sorry to be a downer.

Nice review.

I guess that the wheels and exels on the chassis' can't be taken apart? :hmpf_bad:

I'm not sure, but I'm not going to try doing that.

I'm very pleased with these and with my luck.

I bought (lol) 15 boxes of these over the course of March, April and May... and got 2 duplicate sets of all 6 cars... AWESOME.

I have nothing to complain about... except perhaps that the color red used on the Cheerios car is ever so mildly different than that of the lower chassis on the red car.

The lower wheel assembly seems to be either glue or sonic welded shut. On a good note, there's only 3 different configurations.

Can't wait to moc these. I've got the ideas, now I just need the time.

Pics forthcoming of all of them side by side... as soon as I can find a way to be online for more than 2 milliseconds at a time. >__>

Hate to bump such an old thread, but I feel I had to share my find recently:

Found this car recently sitting on one of my parents bookshelves without realizing it was Lego. I thought it was just some random car and never paid any attention to it till today. I do not remember ever getting this but I must have at some point in 09'(always did like free toys in cereal!).
